I went here for some break lines and the people who work here went above and beyond to make sure I got the right part. They even called other mechanics they knew for their options. Very helpful when I needed help the most

I was in the Altoona, Iowa location on 10/4/25 for a marine battery that went bad. The store manager, Brandon, went above and beyond to help me with my battery needs. He removed my battery and replaced it with a brand new one. He gave me pointers on how to extend my battery life as well. Just an overall pleasant and professional experience-super friendly too! I really appreciated his help!

Visited this location for an obscure sanding tool, parts employee knew exactly what I was looking for and informed me they carried refills too. Awesome product knowledge and customer care. Thank you O'Reillys!!!

We had the most wonderful experience at your store today. We needed an alternator and Zach Stingley found the right one without any problem. He charged our battery while we were being tooken care of. He is such a wonderful & outstanding human I was outside in the parking lot working on my fuses. He came outside to help me. We are from Fort Collins,Colorado my sister lives her in Des Moines Iowa. Whenever I am in town again I will alway come to the Altoona O’Reillys with my business. Thank you again Zach for all of your wonderful help you don’t understand how much we really appreciate it.

We purchased a battery here this morning after they tested our battery we brought in and said it was bad. We swapped out the battery and brought the car back to have them test the alternator. They came in and said that the battery was bad and needed replaced. We explained that we just bought the battery from them and replaced it. They argued with us that the battery was not one they sell and even though we had a receipt, they continued to argue. Eventually they realized the battery was theirs, but said it was still a bad battery. They then refused to swap out the battery and said we had to do it even though they advertise they will swap the battery for us. We finally left after listening to the vulgar talk of their staff. We took our car to a more reputable mechanic and they explained there was noting wrong with the battery. Long story short, we will not be buying parts from them any more. You can't trust their testing and their customer service was disappointing.

Employee was rather terse, which created a somewhat uncomfortable experience. Asked for a scan of the engine of my car and felt that it wasn't as important as talking with the young woman in the store about personal issues. Also inquired about a couple of items I needed, 3 employees present at registers and 2 customers, and directed me to the area where one of the irems could be found, but not interested in personally assisting me in needed items.

The exceptional help from one of the employees is what got this 4* rating. Without this employee going above and beyond their job, it would have been a lower rating.

Brad came out and gave us a free estimate. He was super helpful and made sure we understood what the error codes on our check engine light meant in detail. He gave me and my wife great recommendations and had excellent customer service. We recommend anyone having vehicle trouble check out O'Reilly's.

Five Stars for Ethan, 1 Star for the Asian woman who yelled real loud for Ethan several times while he was helping me in another isle. She was on his case for some reason. I had a warranty issue with a battery, and after speaking to the district manager and the store manager in that order, the issue has been corrected and I have updated my rating. I can say the young men did work hard, even in the rain. One was from a different district and had been trained improperly at their previous posting on how to handle returns, which was the fault of the employee's previous manager and not reflective of this district, store, or the employee in question

I brought in light bulbs which I purchased. I asked for them to let me know what I needed. They sold me the wrong ones. I return a couple of weeks later to switch bulbs. The older man that was already moody from jump was very short with me. I asked if I could get the right ones he did get me the new ones. So I asked if I could use the tool to change them myself while I was here. He was mad I didn’t know what tool it was but instead of helping he was like I can’t come out to help because he had to answer phones. He was not the only there. Plus he lied and said I was there just the other day. I told him no I wasn’t and it was a lady that helped me. Smh. Never again. They lost my business forever

Had some different auto issues where I had to visit two different O'Reillys 150 miles apart in two different states. Both so accommodating. The one in Altoona helped me in an precarious situations and it worked out. Very appreciative.

So had a steering problem with my car I called and I got a guy named Randy! Let me tell you he was so helpful and very Knowledgeable. He also came outside in the rain and put in a fuse for me. When I do call back I will be asking for Randy from now on. I was very happy with the service that I had. Thank you Randy very much appreciated.

I was in a pinch, my alternator went out on 65 and had just enough battery to make to the store, they loaned me a socket set and I made the swap in the parking lot. Very accommodating/helpful employees.

Wow! What an awful experience. I went in to get my engine light checked. After coming outside and finding out he didn't have the right equipment the guy yelled at me. I thought maybe he's having a bad day. I don't know what was wrong with him but I waited in the lot for 5 minutes watching him helping other customers and then decided to leave. I won't be back to this store again.

Cowboy needs to learn some customer service skills! A week ago my wife and I stopped in to get something for her car. The guy in the cowboy hat that waited in us didn't acknowledge her at all. And he never said thank you. Someone else workimg there said "answer her" when she had asked a question, but he never did. He just addressed me like she wasn't there and she was the one that paid for the part. I have been in there other times and my service has been good. Customer service goes a long way. So does saying thank you to people that are spending their money there .

It was one of the coldest days of the year and both of my kids' cars batteries went out. I was able to get one jumped and once I got to the store I asked if they changed batteries. "Not today" he said with a smug look on his face. I purchased the first battery and headed back for the second and they gave the wrong one. The terminals were switched. I already pulled off the colored terminal covers and I just assumed the batter was correct. I hooked it up wrong due to this and ultimately blew the fuse box and ruined the radio. After I finally figured it out that the battery was wrong and went back, yeah, they didn't care it was my fault even though these guys didn't have the training to provide me with the right solution to being with. Isn't this their job? I don't like writing reviews but as I went to the junk yard today to get the replacement radio I was reminded of how bad of an experience I had with these guys and how retail stores in general need to separate themselves with good service. I should of just went to Wal-mart and saved money because there was no advantage in service.
