Lund Motors was trustworthy and cheaper than most shops. I feel if you do a good job and treat the customer good, then they will come back. We keep coming back if that tells you anything!
Haven't used them yet, but phone call this morning to check on routine service and he was SUPER helpful and friendly; not at all pushy. I'll use them for sure!
Update- several oil changes and routine service later, I highly recommend! Today I took my car in for routine oil change and the mechanic noticed that oil had spilled onto the engine air filter from my last oil change (elsewhere). Not only did Jeff have a new filter sent from O'Reillys but he didn't charge me! This is the home town place you can trust, folks.
We recently moved to Waukee and were looking for a local family owned repair shop. I talked to Jeff and he said bring my pickup over that had an oil leak.They looked at it and gave me an estimate. This was around 1:30 on July 1st and they drove it in and started on it. Jeff called me around 4:30 and said it was done! I would highly recommend Lund Motors !

These guys are the best!! They have done some fantastic work helping me keep my old over 200,000 mile 2007 Hyundai alive. And now gave me thumbs up on my 2020 Ford Transit for traveling vanlife! I like Lund motors they do a great job I just wished I would have been made aware of the cost of battery and wasn’t till after they put it in my car. They are usually pretty good of letting you know before doing the work.
I've used Lund Motors primarily for oil changes, but also for some minor repairs (hoses, seals, etc.). I've been pleased with prices, scheduling, turnaround times and the service. Jeff keeps me in the loop as to what is going on, communicates costs, etc. Would recommend.
Jeff was easy to work with and got me a fair analysis of my vehicle. They got my truck on the lift same day, done the next day with brakes and joints. Would definitely recommend for your vehicle!
Lund Motors did a great job in replacing my AC condenser and recharging the system for me, for a fair price and completed under the projected time. AC is cool and ready for summer!

Lund's team are absolute life savers! My car started making a grinding sound and I was able to get in the same day I called them. They fixed up the issue within the day and have very fair pricing. The team is also super personable and explained things really well. They're my family's go-to for a reason!
We explained to the mechanic what was happening! The battery was being drained after sitting for about 2 1/2 to 3 days. So we dropped the vehicle off Thursday around closing hours on 5/16. They were in possession of the vehicle for 4 business days (6 days total) plenty of time to run the test….finally we called up and they told us they forgot to call us to come pick the vehicle up and all they did was start the vehicle and test drive it 🤦🏻♂️ we know the vehicle starts up we wanted the parasitic draw repaired! They didn’t even test the vehicle for a parasitic draw! We are down to one vehicle and we trusted in you guys to get the job done based on your good reviews.
Completely wasted our time so we picked our vehicle up and called another local mechanic and boom! They ran the parasitic test and found the issue within 3-4 hours. Would not recommend! Complete waste of time! If you can’t do the job just say so and we would have went somewhere else.
Don’t take your car here! I would never visit this location again. The customer service and communication was terrible! Less than a year ago I took my car here for what I thought was a cracked oil pan. When the car was finished they told me the oil pan wasn’t cracked and even showed me the oil pan with no cracks. They informed that it was my oil censor inside of the pan but still purchased a new oil pan with out asking me and charged me almost 900.00 bucks! Less than a year later the oil pan is leaking from the gasket and is under warranty. When I called them about this they informed me that I would have to wait a month to get my car in and if it wasn’t a warranty issue they would charge me a 90 dollar diagnostic fee. Just unreal and the way he talked to me made me feel even worse. A few weeks ago I also took my daughters car in to have it inspected and was charged the same 90 dollar diagnostic fee, I understand shops do charge these fees but they should be transparent about it every time. There are posted price in the shop for oil changes and what not but nothing about a diagnostic fee. I will not be going back!
After being quoted $600 worth of repairs on my car at the dealership, Lund Motors graciously offered me a rough estimate for repairs, checked on parts, and initial thoughts in what might need to be fixed. This is over the phone with no guarantee I’d bring my car in for service.
After looking at my car they determined no work was needed and my car is safe to drive. I am grateful for their time and the money I was able to save. I will not hesitate to reach out for future car repairs.
We moved to the Des Moines area a few years ago and were looking for a reliable mechanic. Lund Motors was recommended by a friend of a friend. I have been there a couple of times for repairs on two different vehicles. In each instance, they fixed what needed to be fixed without adding unnecessary or unwanted services. They do their best to get you back on the road the same day! They are fairly priced and friendly.

Called to make an appointment and they were able to get me in the next day. I waited there while the work was done and I was in and out within 40 minutes. The price for an oil change was cheaper than the dealership or those quick oil change places. Customer service is excellent!
Got two quotes from other top rated repair shops in the area who both wanted $140 to even look at my car. Instead I brought it here, they were super friendly, figured out the issue within an hour and gave me back the keys without a charge. Great company with a mom-and-pop type feel. I’ll be back!
Awesome crew! I have gone to Lund for all my oil changes and any minor maintenance needs. I also know I can trust them to work on all of my severe car problems. They will always work quickly and relatively cheap to get you back on the road!
This was our first time using Lund. Jeff was able to work us in to their schedule so my son could get his car serviced before heading back to college. He was extremely easy to work with and answered all of our questions, no pressure to "fix" things unexpectedly - just honest recommendations. We were very pleased with our experience and will be back!
Visited here one day to check out services they offer for my vehicles and ended up scheduling an oil change. I contacted Lund Motors as they were highly recommended in a Mustang group in the Des Moines area. My 2006 GT still had the original shocks and struts and was in need of replacing. They also replaced the front brakes. I also had them install a strut tower brace when everything was buttoned back up. Handling is definitely improved and I can't wait for the summer cruising season. I'll definitely bring my Mustang back to Lund Motors when necessary.
