We have used them a few times. We have had great interactions with this company. Several months back we had taken my hubby's car somewhere else (I wont name the place as that is not what this post is about). Gave them a list of what we wanted done that shop just did what they wanted and didn't even finish the complete tune up. Fast forward a few months and my car broke down on the interstate and they towed it and had it fixed withing 24 hours (just a simple hose). We decide to give them another try with my hubby's car. They were fast and had great customer service. They did the tune up we asked the other place to do and got my hubby's car running great for an affordable price. Just recently had to take my car back for a different issue and they were very helpful and got me fixed right up. Maybe not a quick as last time but there was significantly more wrong with it this time so the extra time seemed justified to me. I would definitely recommend them.

They were so reasonable with pricing on such a bigger vehicle and we're SO FAST on coming to get it. A very friendly company on top of it! Definitely recommend over any other in the area. They cover Floyd county which was nice.

Jeremy, along with two other men, were so helpful in getting my car out from the snow. They were concerned about getting me, my 3.5 year old twin boys, and mom in their car to stay warm while they worked on getting my car unstuck. They were so patient and understanding. Would recommend them to anyone!

I was towed over the weekend by this business. I have no issue with the tow itself. I parked in the wrong place, my fault, I get it. I DO have an issue with the way they handled the situation, and the fact there is DAMAGE to my car. Firstly, the lady hung up the phone when asked questions about location, price, etc. Over several days of simply trying to get an idea of what to plan for, I was told conflicting information regarding price, details of tow, and when I could pick up my car. When calling day of to make sure I could get my car, nearly every detail changed and I was told “you must have spoken with my boss”. No maam, you all just lack basic communication skills. Secondly, the damage to my car is insane. I asked about insurance and was brushed off TWICE. I was waiting to pick up my car this morning (there were several other people there waiting as well), and the tow truck sped through hitting one of the parked cars. This business clearly has no regard for your time, or for your property.

Schaffers held my car hostage for over 36 hours, refusing to tell me where it was (not even the city it was in), and then charged me a storage fee for them having to "hold on to my car" during a period of time in which they would not let me pick it up. When discovering my car had been towed, I called Schaffers-- a business that advertises itself as "always open" 24/7-- asking for its whereabouts so I could come and pick it up. They would not tell me where my car was, and said pickup would not be possible for over a day and a half, the reason being that the business was closed on weekends. On that same call, I was told that, upon pickup, I would owe $175 and would be able to pay with a credit or debit card, but cash was preferred. When I called first thing on the day I was told my car would be available to pick up I was told (by the same woman I spoke to previously) that my fee was now $305 and that I still had to wait another hour to be able to get my car. The change in fee was credited to "storage" costs; however, I did everything in my power to try and get my car as soon as possible so that it would not have to sit in a lot unattended for over 36 hours, and the business refused to let me pick it up. In addition to all of that, they then said they would only take cash; cards were not accepted at all. When I asked if I would receive a receipt for my cash payment, I was told they "don't normally do that, but they might be able to write something down for me." When I got there to pick up my car there was another delay because one of their tow truck drivers was recklessly driving and hit a parked car (someone there also waiting to pickup their own car that had been towed). The driver then yelled at the people whose car he hit, and tried to blame them for the accident that he caused. They lied and falsely promised a completely different total fee for towing, were combative and rude at every point of communication, and refused to take any form of payment other than cash, with no proof of the transaction offered until I directly asked for it.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ While driving from CO to VA, our car stopped in the middle of the highway right before reaching Louisville, KY— it was terrifying. AAA connected us with Shaffer’s Towing, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. They turned a scary, stressful situation into a calm and positive one. Even on a Sunday, they found us an open shop and got us there safely. The driver was professional, kind, and made us feel completely at ease — even during the tow ride. Being from out of town, we couldn’t have asked for better help. If I could give 10 stars, I would! Truly thankful and highly recommend Shaffer’s Towing.

Excellent and professional service. When Sunny Acres refused to tow a vehicle for us stating some made up 48 hour law, Schaffer’s was more than willing to take our business. Obviously this is who we’ll be using for all of our towing needs in the future.

ALL OUT OF TOWNERS, COME HERE!!!! This place provided impeccable service. Friendliest people you could waltz in on. Car broke down RIGHT when we arrived into their lot and they got us a new part in and replaced within a couple of hours. Angie is a DOLL who clearly loves people and Joey is a GEM of a mechanic! And a special shout out to o'riley's for the fastest part delivery i have ever seen (^_~) Many blessings to that autoshop because they deserve them! Thank you guys <3 <3 <3

I have not used their service, but they left two bags of candy and some cups at my door after the Harvest Homecoming parade and it really made our day. Thank you for that!

Shaffers was not only cheaper but dang my driver was awesome.what a great guy... I will never go anywhere else. He took my car from North Harrison elementary to my house in Corydon 85 bucks saved my butt!! What an amazing crew.. took care of me... can't reccomend any better!!!! Trust these guys... I Do...

I was truly disgusted with the woman who answered the phone for Shaffers towing on Saturday, August 23rd , 2025. She was exceptionally rude, and when I started to ask questions regarding picking up a car that had been towed, she simply hung up on me. When I tried to immediately to call back , she hung up on me again. What kind of business does not even try to answer simple questions that are being asked. I would dissuade anyone from using this towing and recovery company. Unless, of course you want to be treated unfairly! I was informed by the belligerent woman that the car had to stay over the weekend because she could not be bothered to call anyone to come and let us pick up the car over the weekend. We had to wait till Monday morning. A substantial increase in payment. I am disgusted with this company!

If I could give a 10 I would, they deserve it. Excellent and dependable company. Tow truck driver made a 25 mile trip on I-64 and back to haul our broken down pickup to their shop. Then worked overtime to replace the water pump and hoses to get us back on the road. They could have left us standing waiting till they could get to it, another day, like a lot of places would. Thank You It was greatly appreciated

Did a good job, sent a photo of my car when they had it towed and dropped off which I really appreciated. Locked the doors to the car, communicated, good fair price.

We needed to tow our truck and horse trailer (with our horse) after we broke down three hours from home on a hot summer day. Chris from Shaffer’s Towing got out to us very quick and took great care of us out-of-towners the whole way. He was professional, courteous, and safe - and good conversation on the drive! He even let our scared dog ride in the cab with us. Would recommend them to everyone, especially if you’re from out of town like us - they’re good people. Shoutout to Angie in the office too - everyone was so understanding about our animals and the stressful situation. Thank you guys so much!

I called this morning when my car was having issues and couldn't start. I called Shaffers and they had a tow truck to me in New Albany within an hour! Robert is the man who helped me and he was fantastic. Definitely recommending them to all!

Hands down recommend everytime! Extremely helpful and very friendly. They walk you through steps and are honest and upfront about everything. The staff in and out of the office answered all questions we had. Very positive experience when we had a blow out with our truck.

So I can’t speak for the Towing because I have never had to have a tow, but I can speak on the garage and repair side of things. These guys are very honest. They do an amazing job. They don’t try to sell you something you don’t need but they will point out if they feel like there is a safety concern, Angie is wonderful and absolutely amazing to deal with. I would highly recommend.

The driver was friendly and competent and got our car unstuck quickly even though it wasn't built with an obvious place to attach the chains. We were charged the lowest amount of the approximate price range quoted over the phone. I wouldn't hesitate to call Shaffer's again if I need a tow in the future.

Unfortunately my daughters car has had to be towed several times this year. However, Shaffers towing has made the process easy for us each time. They even went as far as to meet us in Scottsburg and arrived in a timely manner. They are professional, efficient & kind to work with! I highly recommend them!

Can't say enough about this place! We broke down on the interstate last week and called these guys. Owner, Chris, picked us up with a tow within 15 minutes after calling for service. Calipers had locked up. They replaced all rotors, pads, calipers and master cylinder the next morning. All for a completely reasonable price. The receptionist, Angie, was more than kind and extremely helpful with explaining the mechanical problems. Very down to earth and upfront people. I would recommend Shaffer's to anyone.

John towed my 2019 Corvette after a flat tire in Memphis Indiana. He took me to Carmerica in Sellersburg. He knew how to get my low to the ground car onto the rollback without damaging it and how to strap it down. He is a true professional.

These are the people you want responding to you on your worst day. I can't tell you the appreciation we have for them. The boat we were transporting did not handle the bridge bump well. Long story short we needed 3 tow trucks to haul the loose boat, the trailer and the suburban back to the tow yard. They helped us through the details of scraping the boat and trailer. They suggested a couple places for us to find a trailer to haul the suburban home and kept the suburban overnight for us while we waited for Monday morning to come. Equipped with a brand new trailer they helped us re-bead the suburban tire and get it loaded onto the trailer so our group could continue our journey home to Colorado. God was with us on this freak accident no injuries, no collisions, just a rogue boat with a mind of its own and the blessings of a team of guardian tow truck drivers there to save the day. Thank you!

Shaffer’s has taken very good care of us with our cars. Our first experience with them was with a job that they did that even the dealership couldn’t figure out and at much more reasonable price than the dealership as well! The next time we came in with a different car and were treated with the same courtesy and respect. Third time we actually drove quite a distance get our daughter’s car that needed some work just because I know they will take care of us at Shaffer’s. I’ve been standing in there when they were honest with someone and told them they couldn’t do a job too. So if you want an honest and reputable business to help you out give them a call! Initially, I thought Shaffers was doing a good job repairing my car. They even allowed me to get my own parts to minimize the mark-up. They gave me a price for their work. It was high, but probably appropriate since it's a Mercedes. I arrived and the price was $1,000 higher than what they told me. When I got the car back, I couldn't get the key out of the ignition without forcing it, which is still a problem. The work they did caused the alignment to be off so much, it disabled my skid control which stopped my cruise control from working. I had to get my front end re-aligned to be able to get the skid control and cruise control working again. Shaffers may be good with American cars, but they had no idea what to do with my Mercedes. I'm thankful they were able to fix it enough so I could drive it, but they sure messed up a whole lot more in the process. I won't be back!
