I just had my truck towed to Rule Auto Care after my coolant temperature skyrocketed. It’s the Friday before the county fair, and they were very friendly and understanding when I showed up. They’re full of other customers but they will fit me in for a diagnostic test when they can. That’s very kind, considering the circumstances, and I actually expect a fairly costly repair. We shall see how this story unfolds, but for now I’m certainly very pleased and feel that my vehicle is in the right shop.
I 100% recommend Rule Auto Care! The whole team is amazing and they always go above and beyond for their customers! They are honest and fair with their work and pricing! I trust them over any other auto care anywhere!
Our car overheated on our travels and we were stranded on interstate 65 at 4am. AAA recommended we get towed to Rule Auto. They are angels on Earth. They were able to get us in when they opened. They discovered damage from a previous repair. They were able to replace our radiator and took pictures so we could show previous shop the damage. They treated us like family. I will forever be grateful to them. We were able to finish our trip successfully and safely
Our enclave broke down during a road trip. These folks were able to get us back on the road in just a couple of hours. My family is very grateful! You saved our vacation.!
Been using them for a few years. Affordable pricing. Friendly staff. Had a recent issue with my engine light coming on, finding out it was my battery. They got me in same day, i hardly remember bringing my car in that’s how quick it felt. Very thoughtful and left me stress free worrying if my car would start for the rest of the week.
Took my vehicle in to have tpms replaced and an alignment.Suspected wheel bearing or an abs sensor was bad due to my abs light coming on an off. Was told my wheer bearings were fine and all 4 tpms were bad. So I had an alignment all 4 sensors replaced and my abs was off. Well I pick my vehicle up and my abs light is still on and not only that BUT the tech who worked on my vehicle absolutely destroyed my interior by getting in and out of it covered in grease. And the only reason I know it was the tech is because my vehicle was just freshly detailed 2 days before I brought vehicle the which mind you my vehicle also has been with them for the past week. I was happy with how they treated me with kindness and respect but I am absolutely not happy that my suspicions of a wheel bearing or an abs still being the issues due to my light still popping and off and now I have to get my vehicle cleaned again. I feel they should at least refund me or pay for my vehicle to get redetailed. You would think they would treat a customer's car like it was their own.
My family of 8 was on a road trip when we discovered a nail in our tire. Thankfully, Rule Auto Care was our closest option with the best reviews. And boy, do they deserve those 5-star reviews. The staff is friendly & welcoming, and the facilities are clean & comfy — though our family barely had to wait as Rule had our tire patched in less than 20 minutes and we were back on the road. Thank you, Rule Auto Care!
Called this place early this morning and explained my current car situation with them and the check engine light and power loss...was told they would call me back when Troy got back in a few min but never did...I live an hr out of town and was hoping somebody would be able to get a chance to look at it...guess I will try and baby it to get back home and find someone in lafayette to fix it....nor happy

Once again Troy and his staff, from front office to techs, did a superior job. I've never had a complaint. They've always taken care of my needs not only in a timely fashion, but with courtesy, care, and a very professional attitude. Rensselaer is fortunate to have such a first-rate business.
I drove in from Wisconsin for an appt in Rensselaer. As soon as I got into town my tire pressure dropped from 40 to 29 pounds so I knew I had a problem. Rule Auto Care was able to get me in right away and plug my tire. I was in and out within 30 mins. I am so thankful for them and the service they provided me. It was exceptional. I would highly recommend.
My car broke down in Remington, IN and we had it towed to Rule Auto Care. We are not from the area and they made time to help us determine what was wrong with the car so we weren't stranded. Unfortunately, the timing belt broke, and they were so kind during the process to help us sell and do everything needed to get the car to where it needed to go. If we ever have car trouble again in the area, we know where to have it taken care of!
We are traveling from Wisconsin to Ohio and felt our transmission slipping. We got to Rule Auto Care and they were able to look at it right away. While we had lunch they diagnosed our issue and got us back on the road. SUPER friendly service! We are so grateful for their expertise! We highly recommend Rule Auto Care!
We are SO grateful for the care and expertise from the staff of Rule. We were traveling through town and got a flat tire in our 32’ RV. Per a local recommendation, we stopped by there about 2 minutes before close. Everyone was so accommodating and helpful, and they got us back on the road. If we lived closer, this would no doubt be our go-to mechanic. We can’t thank you enough for helping us out in a very stressful situation!
Joshua's car was pulling to the right and all of what you said is true. But that conversation took place before he drove the car. It still veered to the right. He was upset when he got home so I (his father)made an appointment with Tire Barn in LafayetteThey looked at your paper and then then did their alignment, including the toe which you apparently did not do or do not how to do it correctly. . It cost another 100 dollars but the car is fixed. He threw away 70 dollars using you and taking money from a young man like that is just wrong. Perhaps you need new equipment or technicians. Bottom line is he threw 70.00 hard earned for no results. My advice to people. is stay away from this place. By the way, enjoys my son's ill-gotten money
I trust Rule Auto Care with my life and my children safety. Don't go anywhere else. You will never come close to finding such excellent service and real quality work. They have always take care of me right away, then exactly whatever was quoted, give me a time frame and work with my schedule, and if have something important going on they have always fit me in and shifted other things around if able. I had my car taking in before a trip to Chicago for work and was told my shocks needed replaced and they fit me in and got it done within 2 days so I could still make my business trip because he wasn't going to let me drive with my car like that because it was too dangerous. They really care about their customers safety and well-being. I can't say enough good things and tell everyone I know to their car to Rule. Absolutely phenomenal.
Just want to leave a little review for the new shop in Rensselaer In. Yesterday, 9/8/2021, my daughter and my self visited Rule Auto Care to have a tire plugged. As expected.. it shouldnt be a problem, and they would get on it. After about 10 minutes, I walk outside and to the bay door where my daughters car is parked. I ask the tech who is working on it whats up. He replies with i cant find the puncture. I respond with "Would you like me to come help you find it?". He stated that i wasnt allowed and i can understand that for insurance reasons and what not. He proceeds to grind a little rust off the rim, put it back together, Puts it back on the car and tells us if it leaks more to bring it back. Well ofcourse its going to leak more, he didnt fix anything.
This morning, i get a call from my daughter who now has a flat tire. I have her bring the car to me where i decided to take matters into my own hands and find the puncture. I removed the tire, got some soap and water, and began to spray the rubber. After about 3 minutes of spraying, this tire looked like a 4 year old blowing bubbles in the park. I found the leak for them, since they couldnt do it....
it stands to reason, if they cant find a leak in a tire, how can they possibly fix anything else? Think hard before bringing your vehicle here, unless you like having your money taken for an incomplete job... THINK HARD! Dont believe but about 3-4 of these review, i live in rensselaer and know of 3 of these people that are leaving these reviews. the rest are probably doing Mrs Rule a favor.
I was back in town awhile ago called rule auto he was able to get me in and he is very fair. I had some maintenance needed done I waited when I was back in town. There something to say when people travel for his great service
I pulled off the interstate in Rensselaer after my check engine light came on and the engine started misfiring. The auto parts store diagnostic scan confirmed misfire on third cylinder, so I found the only ASE certified mechanic in town. They got me right in knowing I was only passing through area going from Chicago to Muncie. They replaced all the plugs and an ignition coil and got me back on the road within an hour. My heros!
I had a coolant leak and was informed that I would need my water pump replaced--among other things. My (now former) auto repair specialist quoted me a price that seemed rather high, so I took my car to Rule Auto Care for a second opinion--and I am glad I did. Troy quoted me a price that was nearly one-third of the prior quote. He performed the job in one business day, and actually presented me with a bill for less than his quoted price. I can trust that I am getting HONEST and QUALITY service at Rule Auto Care and could not be more satisfied with my experience. I will be a customer for life.
