Came to get the transmission on my Chrysler 300C worked l and didn't cost too much. i had these clowns put a re built tranny in my pontiac and it was already skipping fourth gear so i took it back because it was still under the warranty. they lied to my face and implied a wheel bearing was the problem and refused to honor the warranty or the work. these guys robbed me i would not recommend them to anyone.
Summit transmission did a five star job on my truck! I highly recommend taking your vehicle to summit transmission if it has any sign of a transmission problem. They have the ability to help their customers at the highest level. Austin and Cory where the mechanics working on my truck even though I thought this truck is going to be hard to fix they were able to fix it and even do a little extra. You can tell summit transmission put a lot of detail in making the customer go away ecstatic of the result. Highly highly recommend! Took a couple weeks to work me in. I drove an hour and fifteen minutes to come get the truck only to pick it up and find the transmission was whining. Took it back was told the regular supervisor was on vacation and they hadn’t heard the whine when his sub test drove it. So had to leave it there again for another week or more until they could rebuild my original transmission. They offered me no discount for my time gas and trouble for telling me it was done when it wasn’t. Their (2nd) Tranny just finally died after 34 months. I called them and they said it’s out of warranty (2 yrs/24 mos.)- Sorry. That worked out to a $100/month lease on a tranny payable up front. Going with Jasper this time. I pull a 3 ton camper a few times a year with a 5.7L Hemi gas engine. Both failures occurred pulling the camper. The truck is rated to tow 2 tons more than the camper weighs.
Definitely a place to get transmission work done. If you’re having transmission problems, take your vehicle to a transmission specialist like Summit transmission. You don’t go to a steakhouse to get Seafood So why take your vehicle to get Transmission work done at a place that is not a professional at what they do. I took my truck to my Ford dealership and they wanted to replace my transmission and spent $8500 to do so. So I called Summit Transmission has been in business doing Transmissions for many years And told them I need a price on a rebuilt transmission. He told me the price and I asked him how long before I could get it in and he said tell me what it’s doing first and I did and he knew exactly what it was ended up costing me $1500 to fix my truck honest and great people to work with They will always get my business.
Working on an 77 K10 with an NP 203, needed a single gasket. Box stores only had kits. Called these guys up not only did they have in on hand but said I could have it for Free with google review! Thanks S.T.
I've been using summit transmission for 30 years I pulled a transmission out took it into them they rebuilt it I put it in my truck used it for almost a year and it went bad and I called them up and told them they had my truck towed to their place hold the transmission out rebuild it and called me up when it was finished and had me come get my truck for no charge that's how great their service is thank you very much summit transmission
Finally! It has taken me a long time to find a knowledgeable transmission shop in Fort Wayne. These guys do great work. Cory was able to help stop a transmission leak that has plagued me for a long time. He also gave me great advice on how I might be able to improve my project car in the future. I can genuinely say I’m looking forward to taking it in. How many people can say that about the mechanic?
My 04 Camry needs a new torque converter so I called and they told me they don't work on 2004 Toyota Camry's! WHAT?!?! The Camry is one of the most common cars ever made. I don't understand. Makes no sense at all.
Then I asked who they recommend and of course they have no idea. What a joke of a place.
Summit transmission was awesome. Picked our car up, kept us updated on the status and was completed in a short time.
They even want to see the car 2 weeks later just to make sure all is good.

Needed a transmission replaced in my truck, called Summit Transmission. Not only did they go out of their way to tow my truck to their shop from a hour away on a Friday near closing time. They had the truck done the following Tuesday. I was expecting a week or two before it was done, but only 2 days! The gentleman that towed it was very professional and great to get along with, and when I picked the truck up, the lady working the front desk was very friendly and professional. Truck works and shifts great now. Pricing was very reasonable, actually a bit cheaper then a few other quotes from other shops I had received. If I ever need another transmission service I'll be a returning customer without a doubt. Highly recommend Summit Transmission!!!
These guys made my day! I was super stressed, thinking I had possibly lost my entire transmission. Brian on the other end of the phone was able to tell me that the issue I was describing likely wasn't as bad as I thought and that he'd seen it before. He said just get the car dropped off and they'd have a look. A couple of hours later, Brian called stating that I was good to go! The issue was exactly what he had thought and he was able to get me taken care of immediately.
He didn't even know, but I was 2+ hours from home and not sure what I was going to do if the car needed to stay longer. I really appreciated how calming he was and that they were able to work me in. Everyone else I interacted with were also friendly and eager to help.
Summit transmission was great and Incredibly helpful! Called up the parts department trying to track down a speedometer gear for an unknown transmission model,Cory was extra helpful and even stuck around past closing time so that I can get there from work. Two thumbs up
So my transmission came highly recommended by a friend of mine. I didn't even call around anyplace else after I heard this recommendation. I dropped our 2017 suburban off on Sunday evening and got a phone call Wednesday morning that it was all done and ready to go. That's a type of service that I appreciate. Thank you guys. Summit Transmission was the single greatest auto service I've EVER experienced in my 40 years of driving! The receptionists and techs were all very knowledgeable, patient, friendly, kind, and relaxed. But even being relaxed, they all still worked VERY quickly and VERY hard to diagnose and repair my issue in world record time!
My transmission required a DC solenoid replacement. A rather involved procedure. And gauging from how busy the place was, I didn't expect to get my vehicle back for at least 1-2 weeks. As I was calling car rental places around Ft. Wayne the very next morning, Summit called me to say that my car was ready for pick-up. WHAT?!?!?!
If you have a transmission issue, Summit is absolutely the place to go. No one could possibly do it better than this.

My acadia started making funny noises. After one mechanic said he doesn't do transmission, and a transmission shop said it was my torque converter and would be 7k. Contemplated getting a new vehicle altogether. Father in law suggested Summit and they quoted me half of the price. I live in Ohio and would make that drive every time. Wasn't my torque converter but a much simpler problem. A lot cheaper and quicker turn around time. Brian was helpful over the phone. 10/10
Truly phenomenal group of people to work with! Came in with an issue that the dealership said they had resolved. Was so worried I wouldn’t have my vehicle back in time for an up coming trip. Vehicle was back well before the anticipated time and have had zero issues. Highly recommend over and over!

I called about a possible transmission issue with my vehicle. I know nothing about cars. When I called and explained what happened to the gear shifter in my car not going into park or reverse, the gentleman on phone (Brian) said he believed it was a recall on a bushing in the gear shifter. He recommended that before I brought my vehicle to him, to check with the local dealership to see if my car was a part of this recall. Sure enough, it was! I cannot thank Brian enough for taking the time to listen to my issue, to be honest with me about a recall that I was unaware of, and to explain the process to me. He could have had this single mom on a tight budget tow my car to his shop and make me jump through hoops and pay a fortune for a new transmission right before Christmas. Instead, this man had the ultimate kindness, patience, and knowledge to get me help for my issue. For his integrity- I cannot thank him enough. I will be referring everyone I know to Summit Transmission and I will definitely call him first should I need help in the future. Brian - you saved me today! Other places did not provide me with this information and quoted me astronomical prices and up to 3-4 weeks before I could even get my car back! Instead, the dealership was able to resolve the issue under recall within the day because YOU sir are a good person. Merry Christmas to you!
Brought my daughters GMC envoy in a few years ago because a Chevrolet dealer said it needed a new transmission. The dealership cost was extremely high, and the mechanic recommended I use Summit Transmission. After one of Summit's technicians looked at the vehicle, they said it wasn't the transmission it was a sensor that was causing the issue. The transmission was perfectly fine once the sensor was replaced for about 100 dollars. Instead of charging me a ridiculous amount of money and replacing the transmission, they did the honest thing. I'm not sure why someone is saying this place isn't honest. They could have easily made a couple thousand off of me, and I would have never known the difference. I can promise that if there is ever an issue, I won't hesitate to use Summit Transmission.

I’ve been a professional automotive technician for 10+ years now and have my own repair shop and let me tell you from experience, these guys know exactly what they are doing with the most state of the art equipment known to man to repair/rebuild your transmission. They test the valve body before it’s installed back into your transmission which takes all the guessing out of what’s wrong with your vehicles transmission. They also can completely rebuild your torque converter!
I wouldn’t trust any transmission shop In town let alone in any other state other than summit transmission. Great team, very friendly, family owned, and a very clean organization facility!
