Cheapest tow service i could find on short notice. They sent a truck out quickly, the driver Ashley went above and beyond. She was courteous and helpful. I highly recommend this company.
I set up a tow the day before to be delivered to another town an hour away no later than 10am. Next day comes and I see at 10am my vehicle is still sitting in the driveway. I called this company to inquire why and find out what’s going on because i just missed my appointment now. The woman that answered the phone was very nice and said there was a miscommunication on timing and they had an truck problem this morning but they had a truck unhooking in Westville right now and I’m next on the list. She gave me a $25 discount on a $625 tow and said they should be there within 45 minutes. I call back an hour later because I had no updates and vehicle hadn’t moved. Whoever the male was that answered the phone was extremely rude and acted like I was inconveniencing him by calling. Tried guilt tripping me saying “isn’t 80 year old people stuck in a ditch more important than your truck that’s in your driveway? We gave you a discount” i agree that someone in distress takes precedence BUT simple communication would have been great. I called back and cancelled! I try to keep business local but their less than professional attitude and lack of communication is astounding. Tatmans was there in 45 minutes from the time I called AND over $100 cheaper. That’s including driving from Chanpaign to Danville then to Decatur. I highly recommend not using this company and exploring other options.

If I could give 100 stars if I would. We are from Nevada and just passing when our rv engine caught fire on the 74. They towed off the highway and to their shop (let a mechanic look at that doesn't even work for them) when we were quoted $2500 just for labor from a man who didn't even speak English we asked ccharnaghi if they could take a look at it. They worked on the bus for a few days and with parts and labor it was under 700 bucks. Pffft... talk about honest. I definitely recommend them!!! Thank you guys again for getting us back on the road!!!!
We broke down in our Winnebago last Summer. No one would answer our call for help. We reached out to Carnaghi, and received the friendliest help. Not only did they tow in our motorhome, but sent another smaller tow truck for my Mom and I! Our short legs couldn't get in to the big tow truck. They fixed our problems by the next day, having to order a new radiator for us. The bill pleasantly shocked us. We will never forget their great service, even recommending Mike's burgers next door.
I had them tow a bus. Very expensive. Then they said they could fix the problem at thier shop for less than $1,000. They called months later and said it was done and it was $6,000. Definatley stay away from these crooks.
The tilton police department now owns my new 1200 dollar moped due to no registration and insurance. Well, my bike had roughly 15 Mike's on it and they've had it since the month of march. Since "Carnegie towed my moped, guess how much it was to pay it's bail? Ready for this? 6000.00 SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS! LEMME SAY IT A HAIR LOUDER JUST IN CASE YOU THOUGHT I WAS KIDDING.....SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS.....???
Called for lock out service. I was maybe 1/2 block away. At the most 1 block. It took them over 30 minutes to get to me. On top of that they charged me $75 ,for lock out service. UNBELIEVABLE. The dispatcher was really rude and I feel like she was playing games. I called twice an emphasized that I was trying to get to work and didn't understand why it was taking so long. I really really really needed to get to work. I also think they just make up prices. You get screwed because you are desperate and need to get going.
I have used them in the past and was very disappointed in their behavior. I hope I never have to deal with them again.
Before my truck was picked up to be towed, there was absolutely no issues or problems with my truck. My truck sat at the Collet Street location from Friday night till Monday morning, I follow the worker to look for my truck in the open lot, he decides to call to figure out that my truck was put into a garage, inside the garage was a small tractor sitting in front of my truck. I'm thankful my belongings was mostly accounted for. I drove my truck home and while in route on interstate 74 which the speed limit is 70 mph I could feel a shaking from the front passenger tire. Not long after I got to my residence I heard a loud pop and air coming from outside. The front passenger tire was flat and the RIM was literally broken from the inside, now when I received my truck I was told if there were any issues with personal items being taken or gone through that it was not the carnaghi workers but the officers that were involved when the truck was towed. With this information and what happened to the tires rim I am convinced that my truck was damaged by hitting the passenger side tire in a hard manner which made the tire to flatten. FORTUNATELY I made it home safe, I now know the shaking on the interstate was something dangerous and I could've put other drivers and myself in danger. I have no way of knowing whom did this to my truck, unfortunately the carnaghi staff will say it was the police, and the police will say it was the towing company worker. No one will be held accountable but if I would have been hurt then who would've been held accountable????

Blew a tire on the side of the road quite a ways from home. Thought I needed a tow, but the incredibly kind tow truck driver assured me that my spare would get me home safe if I drove slow and steady. I made it home safe and sound after he put on my spare for me!
Had to call them tonight for a tow. The dispatch lady was very courteous. The tow truck driver was very nice and quick to get me and my car home. I highly recommend.
Cole arrived promptly with a flatbed truck to take me to Watson Tire. He was very friendly and the price was a reasonable $65. I also appreciated the text notifications about progress. Great service!
My bearings in my alternator went out which causes battery to die called Carnegie's very professional and quick got us a tow within 40 minutes the guy's name was Brandon I believe he's right nice put my car where I wanted it so I would definitely recommend them a little high for my taste but I guess you get what you paid for and we got good service so and got home safe so thank you Carnaghi...

Ridiculously EXPENSIVE! Strongly suggest seeking another Tow company unless you're rich and can afford it! [SERIOUSLY, CALL & COMPARE FOR YOURSELF, a little time & research will save you a heartache and serious hit to the wallet]. Don't worry about their profits or this place staying in business because they tow for the city/county and hold your vehicle hostage at blown up, un-necessarily inflated prices therefore, they will stay in business due to their REAL TIGHT relationship with the police/city/sheriff. (not kidding, not biased but true)
Jerry arrived very soon after we called for a tow. He was friendly, helpful and careful when loading our car onto the flatbed. He even offered his mechanical advice which helped us make a better decision regarding the car repair.
I’ve used Carnaghi in the past and have had nothing but great service. At one time, we needed to ride with the tow and Dustin was friendly, (not creepy at all) the truck even smelled nice! Once we arrived at my home, Dustin helped us unload my work truck of tools before taking it to the repair station.
Would definitely recommend and will use their services again!
My car was towed due to an issue with the Westville police department. My car was in working condition nothing was wrong with it. I did not have the money to get it out of impound right away so it has sat there for a while. Weather it be a week or a month even a year my car should have been in the same condition as it was the same day. Now I have had it towed to my house I need a new control arm, the oil pan housing was crushed, no oil left in the car, it's damaged pretty badly due to it being towed. Repair is high quality and holding strong. Heavy wrecker service was prompt and professional even at 1am on a saturday. Phone communication was a little lacking and scattered, but onsite customer service was second to none. The wrecker operator was kind enough to drop my truck inside to try and alleviate any fuel gelling issues on a 15 below night.
The other two heavy wreckers on google maps in the area didnt even pick up the phone. Dont waste your time calling.
Called asking for help to get back into my vehicle after locking my keys in it. Didn’t take long for them to arrive nor to get inside to unlock it. The gentleman that helped us was very friendly an did a great job. If I knew his name I’d recommend him personally to get the job done every time.
I was locked out of my car at work, due to a drained battery (couldn't use my keyless entry & my keys were in my vehicle). I was extremely pleased with the friendliness & helpfulness of the driver. It took him less than 5 minutes to get me into my vehicle. I highly recommend & would definitely use their services again.
Last night, 7/13/18, my husband and I broke down on interstate 74 just west of the Oakwood exit. The serpentine belt shredded apart. We called our insurance about our AAA. The wait was long, so we called Carnaghi's. Even though the dispatcher gave the driver the wrong direction on the interstate, he was still there within 20 minutes. He was very professional. I have no complaints with the service we received. Thank you for everything!
Terribly rude, disrespectful and heartless PLUS They ransacked the vehicle, STOLE the KEYS and DRAINED the GAS!!!
The Story:
We had a truck break down in a small town and parked it off the road (in the dead of winter) with plans to return in the morning to get it. Less than 12 hours later, it was towed to Carnaghi!
With the initial call about where the truck was being taken, we were told that the keys WERE LEFT IN THE TRUCK, exactly as my husband intended, both by the police officers and the tow truck driver.
When we called carnaghi to make arrangements to pick it up, they were VERY RUDE over the phone. First we were told we could pick it up that evening to avoid additional charges, as long as it was done by midnight. When we got there, apparently there was no one to let us in unless we were willing to pay extra just to get in the gate and they argued that noone would have told us we could pick it up in the evening. Like I just made that up so I could make a wasted trip to the towyard!
The following actions were extremely uncalled for and they should not be in business if this is how they run things. Apparently they decided to DESTROY our personal property, as if the employees are actually juvenile delinquents!
They removed the keys (after telling us they were in the truck) and acted like they had no idea about there ever being any keys.
The interior of the truck was completely demolished and anything of value or interest was gone. Every piece of paper and every single item had been thrown around the truck or broken. The people at Carnaghi went so far as to even suggest that the police officers had done this. We spoke with them and that was not the case at all!
We had to tear into the ignition just to get the truck started, since there were no keys to be found in that mess. Then a couple miles away, the truck started struggling and ran out of gas (we had just put gas in it and were on the way home when it broke down-so this was highly unexpected). There was no way this could happen and after the mess at the towyard, it wasnt hard to come to the conclusion they had also removed the gas!
Terrible company and terrible people if they think this is ok. No one deserves to be treated like that!
whoever the woman is that answers the phone is always extremely rude. she acts like doing her job is such a task, I'm not sure but I see I'm not the first to encounter such poor customer service. maybe you should look into that. it's very irritating when I call doing my own job & have to deal with a rude receptionist who clearly does not want to be there. 'I can't even hear you' 'bye' not even have a good day or anything. and of course she's huffing as I ask her for information. DREAD calling this company when I have too. what a shame.
