Continuously misses pickups but the driver reports as picked up. No one local to talk to. Go with a local company or waste management.

Last week Republic missed our pickup. We called twice and were told they would come by and get it. They didn't. We have to push our carts down to the corner because our HOA doesn't want garbage trucks on our privately maintained road. It isn't easy for my 74-year-old husband to do that. Now, we have extra bags to put on top and next to our cart. My husband will probably have to make 2 trips. If Republic doesn't take those bags, I'm going to be really ticked off.

Half of the time trash pickup was late and they charged me $50 to have someone pick up the can once I cancelled service

Republic services is the most Mickey Mouse organization I have ever dealt with in my entire life.The way tho company handles customer complaints is an absolute disgrace. Granite City signed a contract with them I did not. Sadly because of a decision the city made Republic services has a monopoly in the city of Granite that never should been allowed in the first place that being the case is illegal. The company could care less about customer complaints. It takes weeks to even attempt to fix issues. Two weeks ago the driver got out of his truck and was screaming and cussing me out. The company has no accountability for there employees. They have done absolutely nothing to correct the actions of the driver. I have been dealing with issues with the company since they took over services here in Granite City. Customer complaints mean absolutely nothing to thee company. They play pass the buck and send you to someone and they do nothing and then the next person does even less that the person before if I could give the company negative stars believe me I would. I am to the point of putting the names of the people who do nothing to help the customers. The most absurd solution they came up with on Friday was for me to stay inside my house when the trash truck comes. Who do they think they are my mother. She doesn't even tell what I can or cannot do. I am a grown woman. So since there employees have no manners I am supposed to be treated like a child. They have done nothing to the driver. They think that they I am some stupid person they have no clue as to the fact I know how to handle my business. They are an absolute joke. I am waiting for the proof they have control of me. Where's the proof they are my parents and that they pay my bills. Not gonna happen. They need to understand that I am going way over there heads now. I will be getting every agency involved to make sure they are held accountable for there lack of responsibility. Let the games begin.

My trash service is beyond terrible I would change my service if I could these people are a complete joke of a company I had my trash can with cardboard and they wouldnt take it they will look at any reason not to do their job

My husband pays for trash collection services for his Cahokia business from Republic Waste. They often miss picking up our trash. Most recently, my husband emptied the voluminous amount of trash from our business into the dumpster on Sunday, 6/25. We were away for vacation and expected that trash would be picked up at least once while we were away. No such luck. On Friday 7/7 my husband found that the dumpster has remained full for the past 2 weeks. Our trash pickup is supposed to happen every Tuesday. My husband called & was told that the driver marked both weeks' pickups completed (clearly untrue). The dumpster is full & won't be picked up until next week (hopefully? maybe?). No one at Republic Waste seems particularly concerned that missed pickups & falsified records are a regular problem for our business. I have to repeatedly reach out for extra assistance in receiving services that we have already paid for. I have repeatedly asked for someone to identify & fix the problem; no one answers my questions & the apparently willfully skipped pickups continue. As all my attempts at resolution continue to fail, I have tried to contact upper level management for assistance, but I have not been able to rally anyone to assist. I have asked for a callback from someone in upper management - the call never comes and the issues continue. If our pickup day was honestly missed & then picked up within the next day (or two, even!), that would be fine. What we are being told, though, is that drivers are marking the pickup as completed, while we are left with a full dumpster. I just want someone to FIX THE PROBLEM. I have been advised to check the dumpster early in the week to confirm the pickup has been made but 1) we don't live near our business & don't go there every day and 2) I should not have to police Republic's drivers to make sure they are performing the services that I have already paid for! If I am required to oversee their workers then I should be compensated for my time & gas. This company is eager to take your money, but they don't provide the services that you hired them to perform and no one is held accountable. These problems have been going on for us for YEARS. Nobody at Republic much cares.

The driver who services my route in Affton is a hard working and friendly person. He always waves to me and if I am in the front yard, we have a quick chat. He's efficient and always on time. In the winter, I don't have any yard waste, but will renew this service in the spring. Hope I get the same driver. Wish I knew his name!

We have lived in Belleville, IL just about 3 months. They have missed our scheduled pick up more than half of the time. Every time they miss the pick up we have spent about 45 minutes on hold to be able to talk to a customer service rep. They always apologize for missing us, schedule to get us serviced the next day, and then come a few days later. I strongly urge you to choose a different option for your residential trash/recycling needs.

DUMPSTER NEVER DELIVERED!!! I contacted customer services three times and was even told that my delivery was being escalated. Well its several days later and I have not received the dumpster that I paid $474.00 for. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Missed picking up my trash can on more than one occasion. In addition, don't expect them to come back to pick up a bag if it falls out mid-dump for any reason. They will not pick it up and claim that the trash can was not even out there to begin with. Very unprofessional, even for Trash Pickup Personnel.

The truck drivers for this company have to the laziest people ive ever encountered how someone managed to hire them is beyond me i constantly have to call to complain about my trash getting skipped and still getting billed for it

Worst service ever. I’ve lived in many cities and states and this is the worst and most expensive of any. Very inconsistent with what they’ll pick up and skip pick ups completely. When they decide a can is too heavy, they leave the lids off letting the rain in and making it heavier. I’m looking for another option, but this company seems to have the monopoly on Shiloh.

They are over priced for one small bag of trash per week. There should be a scale based on how much trash is put out. Other companies offer a scale. Also, they miss too many pick ups. Between 05/2016 thru 07/2016 my trash was picked up maybe two times. Instead of lugging the 50 ton gallon container to the curb, I placed a small at the curb. Huh....I guess that it would have been too much trouble to get off the back of the truck and grab the bag. They left it right there. I called and they said all trash had to put in the bin. Really?, I have to drag this 50 gallon container to the curb for one small, Walmart-sized bag. They want the convenience of using the automated system instead of just grabbing the bag and putting it in the back of the truck. So, much for increasing employment. Automation is taking jobs from this country. Big, monopolizing companies are cutting down on their cost of production but consistently raising prices. I hate using the self service lanes, but WALMART forces you to use them because most times there's only one LIVE, person working a land. Okay, I digress, but people need to realize that robotic technology is what's taking jobs. These companies make huge profits. I pay for the bin. It should be my choice as to whether or not I use it. Most trash companies are part of Waste Management. This is a monopoly. So, switching from company to company will not help. In my research, I discovered that WM is an international company with their hands in huge government contracts. Republic Services is a subsidiary of WM. Watch the YouTube video about WM.

I pay extra to have recycling services. For three weeks now, I have not had the recycling guy pick up. I have a 96-gallon container overflowing and called repeatedly about having someone pick it up. I'm told, "Oh, someone will be by today," if I call before 10am. Call at 2pm, to be told, "Well, they haven't finished their route. They have sevetal more hours. Be patient." Call a few minutes before 5pm, to be told, "Well, they are finishing up their routes, so if they aren't there by 6pm, then they'll be by tomorrow. " I've had numerous "tomorrows" go by and STILL, my recyclables aren't picked up. As for speaking to a supervisor, well, they are "all busy on other calls." No supervisor willl return a call, nor bother speaking to me. This has happened several times in the year I've been with them. I've noticed, if they miss picking up on your scheduled day, they won't come back until the following week. However, you'll pay the same, even WHEN not "if" but "WHEN" they don't pick up.
