My experience with Quad City Towing was extremely frustrating from start to finish. Due to a family medical emergency a family car had been totaled, which ended up at their lot. First, their posted hours are unclear and misleading. Google shows them as open 24 hours, and we went on a Saturday expecting someone to be there. When we arrived, the place was completely closed. We later found out they “close at noon,” but even at that time no one was actually there. We sat in the lot with other customers for quite a while, only told that “somebody is on the way.” When someone finally arrived, we paid the fees to release our vehicle and also paid for it to be towed to my grandmother’s house. I clearly stated multiple times that the car needed to go into her driveway in the alley and was told this was fine. Later, my grandmother called me stating the driver had been rude and arguing with her, saying he could not put it in the driveway because he was using a semi and “there’s no way” to get it in there. He left the car on the street in front of her house instead. No one mentioned any possible access issue during the three separate conversations we had before paying for the tow. Because the car was left in the street, neighbors became concerned and the police came by to check on it. I emailed the company multiple times and never received any response. In the end, I had to pay a different tow company to move the car about 50 feet into the driveway... The job I had already paid Quad City Towing for. I understand not every driveway is accessible to every truck, and that towing can be hectic, but clear hours, honest communication before taking payment, and at least responding to customer emails are basic expectations that were not met here. --- Two weeks later, the issue still has not been properly resolved, and I am still waiting for a response regarding the tow charge I paid for but did not receive as agreed. Their phone number on the website does not work, the email address does work but only gets a response when you threaten to escalate, and even then you are told to call their call center. When you call the call center, you’re told they cannot help and that someone else has to handle it, even though that person is never available. They recognized my name immediately and someone in the background is yelling "NO" when I'm introducing myself and trying to explain the situation, that was pretty strange... At this point it isn't just QC Towing but also their dispatch office, TowComm.

I called two places for a quote to change my tire. I called QC towing first because they were closest to my location and I was quoted $95. I went with Kendall towing and I would recommend them to everyone! I paid less than half of what QC towing quoted. Can't say I've ever had a great or even good experience with them. In June, my car was impounded. I called them to verify the cost and the documents needed to get my car out and was told I needed to show proof of ownership. I explained to them the registration was in my car and they seemed friendly enough stating they would look. But then I was informed the registration wasn't in the car, I went into full blown panic mode looking for my title. Long story short, found my title finally but was irritated when I found my registration in my car exactly where I said it was (in my glovebox). Cost me $450 for 3 days.

My car broke down at a stop light. Needed towed to my house. Got picked up within 15 mins. The driver was nice and informative. Was fair price too.

Not a fan; they charged me $40 to send 2 letters. I would also advise the management to refrain from “explaining” laws unless there are valid bar credentials.

Absolutely unprofessional. Multiple times I attempted to call to get in contact with anyone. They refused to answer the phone, put me on hold for an hour. Also were unable to confirm who called in my car to get towed and for what reason? GO WITH ANY OTHER COMPANY!! I got off the phone with someone at this company, caught a 30 minute ride to their facility, went to pick up the car because that was the instruction we got from the tow company. CLOSED!! They refused to open the building, I’m standing outside calling their building and they didn’t even answer. Called 3 times too. Also, the prior reviews are accurate. They are NOT following every legal procedure, and they also are not well versed in Illinois law. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! I would highly suggest everyone that has to unwillingly deal with them documents EVERYTHING! Call logs, time stamps, PHOTOGRAPHS OF YOUR CAR. They clearly are not running a professional business and need to be closely monitored. SAD! Editing to add: they clearly have never owned a business before. No customer service, and these replies? You people live a SAD reality.

Been using Quad City Towing for over 25 years and had account with them, I called for a tow 90 miles away, after they towed vehicle they charged me regular rate when I was expecting account discount, New owner owns Quad City towing and they never told me I no longer have account under new owner, When I called for the tow they never told me it’s going to be $855.00 or I would’ve not had them tow our vehicle, they also now own Fred’s towing, they’re a evil greedy crooked company, Quad City Towing use to be a honest company. I can guarantee they lost customers! .

Violations and Regulatory Concerns: 1. Failure to Notify Registered Owner in violation of 625 ILCS 5/4-203.5 and ICC towing regulations. 2. Illegal Retention of Property after owner identification and request for return. 3. Wrongful Attempt to Junk Title the vehicle while ownership was still active and disputed. 4. Failure to Provide Written Itemized Charges and Recovery Process as required by the Illinois Vehicle Code and ICC rules. 5. Failure to Accept Innocent Owner Defense or document resolution procedures. These actions represent a pattern of predatory towing practices, lack of compliance with ICC-mandated procedures, and potential fraudulent conveyance of a consumer’s property

Absolutely Disgusting Experience – Avoid This Company at All Costs If I could give zero stars, I would. Quad City Towing damaged my vehicle and then made the situation even worse with blatantly racist and homophobic behavior. As a Mexican man who was there with my boyfriend, we were both shocked and hurt by the derogatory comments made by the tow truck driver. It was clear we were being targeted and disrespected just for being who we are. To make matters worse, they lied and told me my car was on a “police hold” which was completely false. When I arrived to retrieve my vehicle, they refused to let me pay or take it back, and instead laughed in my face and told me to “try again tomorrow.” The level of unprofessionalism and cruelty was appalling. This company operates with zero accountability, zero respect, and zero humanity. I’ve filed a formal complaint and will be pursuing this further. No one should be treated like this ever.

No hassle to get the vehicle out of impound in a timely manner, nice young man who waited on us, but the prices are very steep, $25 to $50 a day on top of impound charge. I don't understand it as a tow will cost anywhere from $80 to $120 for the average travel of a tow.

Employees are super nice. But that is the ONLY positive. They lost my car for 2 years. Then when I get it dropped off today. There’s a HUGE crease in my read quarter panel. Paid for my car to be released. at noon. And had to wait for them to locate and pull it out. And I didn’t get it back til 11 the next day. 23 hours to locate and pull my car out. Damaged at that. Is completely unacceptable
