Delayed review as I had the work done last summer, nothing but great things to say about Brian and Alex and their shop. Found him on YouTube when I was trying to diagnose a noise in my 2007 Expedition with ~160k miles and realized their shop was only a few hours away. Brian was very helpful in initially diagnosing the issue over email, he requested some videos and thought the issue was the passenger exhaust manifold. Was easy to drop off the vehicle after hours. I had mentioned I'm hoping to get at least 3-5 more years out of the Expedition. Once he had it in the shop, he gave it a thorough inspection and found many other issues that needed attention, including the dreaded 5.4L 3V timing job. I decided to go ahead and have him do that in addition to fixing the exhaust manifold leak, and a host of other smaller issues. The work was done much faster than I imagined, and I came down to pick it up on a weekend and it was easy to connect with them for pickup outside of shop hours. Probably been about 20k miles since the work was done, and Expedition is running great and has tackled some cross-country road trips and driving through a blizzard on the way to the UP (video below). Highly recommend and will be back for any future issues with the Expedition!

Brian is as professional, honest, and upfront as they come. He took my 2006 F150 in for a used vehicle inspection, front lower ball joint replacement, complete brake job, and serpentine belt replacement. I will also be bringing the truck back in later for spark plugs and transmission, differential, and transfer case fluid changes. I couldn’t be happier with the quality of work that was done and I can’t recommend BSG more! Very fair prices and Brian lets you know upfront how much everything will cost. Michelle is also a pleasure to deal with: very friendly, transparent, and communicated often throughout the time that my truck was at BSG.

2nd time using Brian and his shop and there is a reason for being a return customer. Great service and quality work you can trust. I make the 2 hour drive to use this shop because I know the work is done properly and the knowledge he has of Ford's is unmatched. If you are looking for quality work done right the first time, set up your appointment to get in here.

I waited 4 months and 5,000 miles before I sat down to write this - Brian is the real deal at BSG. I took my truck in for some very labor and skill intensive engine work, and he had it turned around to me in very short order. Communication was excellent, he was receptive to my input and honest about what actually needed to be replaced rather than throwing the entire parts catalog at it. Both the parts and labor prices were extremely fair, and the quality is second to none. Anything he had to touch under the engine was clean, and there were even some odds and ends that I noticed he replaced that were not on my final bill. My engine is purring now. Honest mechanic has my business for life, and I'll be recommending him to any Ford owner I know.

Have watched Brian on his YT channel for the past year, so I took a chance on him to look over my 2010 Expedition for a future long road trip. Was not disappointed. His cost was fair and his work exceptional. Though I didn't talk to him personally, I did talk to Alex when I picked up Expedition, he was friendly and very knowledgeable as well. You will not go wrong using these 2 guys and it will be money well spent.

Brian and Alex got my new to me work truck back in working order after another mechanic caused more issues then he fixed during an exhaust manifold job. Great communication and painless process. Thanks again guys!

BSG Automotive is top notch! I received the "5.4L3v bulletproofing service" on my 2008 F150 5.4L 3v. The drive from Nashville to Chicago was well worth it. I didn't get a chance to meet Brian personally but I knew my truck was in good hands and that the work would be completed with the level of care and detail required for this job. It should be a "no-brainer" at this point if you are considering having your Ford serviced at BSG.

Brian is awesome. Extremely knowledgeable. He did a timing job on my truck (2007 F150 5.4L) back in June. He also replaced my instrument cluster among several other items that needed attention.... Having had the misfortune of getting work done from some really shady mechanics, including dealerships, it was truly refreshing to know that my truck was fixed properly when I drove off from his shop. Thank you for your help, Brian! Shout out to his son and wife as well; they are both very patient and professional!

My 2018 F150 is right at one year since the infamous +Cam Phaser+ work was competed at BSG. From my home in New Hampshire, it’s just under 900 miles to Yorkville. What? Am I nuts? Isn’t there a shop closer that could do the job? Well, perhaps. I certainly wasn’t going to entrust the work to the local Ford dealer where I take the truck for routine service. I booked an appointment, rented a car locally, and enjoyed a couple of days exploring Chicago with my wife - a mini vacation. To be honest, this is +the most+ I have ever spent on any daily driver repair. Could I have traded the truck in for a newer one? Sure. Alas, this one is paid for, is setup for towing, and aside from routine maintenance, this is the first big repair bill I’ve faced. Plus, I like this truck and it’s served me well. I realize that it’s possible for someone to have an experience that’s different than mine. If I wasn’t confident that the work would be done properly, I surely wouldn’t have made the effort to drive 1/3 the way across country. A year-on, it’s all good.

9 hours one-way from Arkansas just to have the famous $6k tune up done on my 2018 Expedition. Excellent communication, fair pricing for the work, and Brian met all my expectations. Well worth the drive and the time to get my truck in top shape again. The only thing I have to say is not to stay at the Super 8 in Yorkville. Absolutely terrible quality. If I have any major work to be done, I’m probably bringing it to Brian. Thanks for the excellent service.

The only place to go for honest straight up repairs or Ford vehicle service. Took my F150 in for an antifreeze drain and fill and a transmission filter and fluid change. Top notch and a quality job!

I recently brought my 2017 F-150 to BSG for a new upgraded oil pan. A fix that ford frustratingly refused to address for this model year. I made the 3 Hour drive from Michigan and I don’t regret it a bit. Speedy and Transparent service are rare to find these days but Brian and Alex far exceed expectations. Constant, clear communication and fair prices are among the things you can expect from BSG. Some of the best maintenance I’ve ever experienced to date.

I went to my Ford dealer to have transmission and other fluid services done on my 2022 F150 only to find out they didn't have anyone on staff that they trusted to perform the service. I reached out to 4 other local dealerships who told me they either couldn't do it, wouldn't do it or they needed to keep my truck for a week or more. Not exactly confidence inspiring. Since I was a fan of his videos and my wife and I love road trips, We decided to make an appointment and take the long road trip to BSG Automotive. Best decision ever. Dropped off the truck at 9am and got a call that same afternoon it was ready to go. The truck felt great driving home to New Jersey, and I had confidence the work was done properly. Everyone needs a road trip to BSG!

Best Ford mechanic in the midwest, 2013 Expedition had a complete timing job with valve solenoids, high volume oil pump, LOF kit, roll over followers set of 24, lash adjusters set of 24, heater hose set, driver and passenger camshaft and cleaned oil pan, he also discovered that the transmission cooler lines were about to fail, got those replaced to, we shipped the vehicle from southwest Florida, then flew over to Chicago and drove back once the work was completed, the truck drove like brand new, we enjoyed the trip. Thank you BSG automotive, Brian and his team.

All the way from Calgary Canada, I can't thank you enough for your incredible DIY videos. Just replaced my lead frame in my 6c80 Ford transmission thanks to your extraordinary instructions. Not only are you a talented mechanic/technician, but obviously you are very generous to have done these videos for others - very conscientious and fair. If I lived within 500 miles of you, you would be my mechanic and probably a friend too. THANK YOU

Drove up from Tennessee and I am happy I did. I can’t trust anyone in Clarksville TN but I trust someone I follow on YouTube. Brian and gang replaced my timing chain, as a preventative maintenance action, and found some other issue. They fixed everything and I couldn't be happier. Two full days of work and I’m ready to drive home. Completely worth the added cost of driving up there and staying in a hotel.

Brian and crew did a fantastic job of diagnosing my 2011 Expeditions engine problem and doing the required service to get my vehicle back in top shape. I highly recommend BSG automotive for your vehicles needs. They charge fair prices and outstanding service.

My family thought I was crazy for driving 5 1/2 hours from Ohio and maybe I am, but Brian and Alex did a GREAT job on my 2015 Navigator. I left the vehicle with BSG for a few days and got several issues taken care of (broken manifold studs, leaking turbo, leaking vacuum, water pump, walnut blast, & several fluids serviced). They got the vehicle on the rack the day I dropped it off and Michelle called me that afternoon with results of the inspection including costs. I had a few follow-up questions about extras that I thought we might want to address, and they recommended NOT spending more money on those items. The honesty from this family is much appreciated. The final invoice matched Michelle's quote. It was a long day of driving/Amtrak/Metra (note: you can take Metra from Union Station to Aurora then grab Uber/Lyft to the shop), but my Navigator is running great AND I got to see a massive Christmas tree in Union Station. :-) Thanks BSG crew!

I've had a problem with my expedition for over a year and a half. Most places here in Wisconsin said replace the motor. Other places wanted to throw parts at it to see if that would fix the problem of running with a high rev in park. Brian had it for about 2 hrs and found the problems with the whole truck. A timing job was needed, a MAF Sensor was bad and transfer case electric motor was bad. Plus 2 bad hoses on the front brakes. He is a fantastic mechanic along with his son. The truck ran beautifully 4 1/2 hrs back to Wisconsin. If you need your first worked on, please send it to him. It will be fixed right the first time. Thank you Brian and your son. Have a great Navy day.

I brought my F150 to BSG for a noise from the rear differential. Brian provided a thorough, detailed diagnosis and laid out a clear repair plan. The work stayed within his initial estimate, aside from a couple of shims that were needed after opening the differential. Based on my experience, BSG offers higher-quality repairs than a dealer, but at a much more reasonable price. Brian is highly knowledgeable about Ford products, performs repairs the right way, and uses OEM parts. The shop is exceptionally clean, and everyone was friendly and professional throughout the process. Even though BSG is a 3.5-hour drive for me one way, I wouldn’t hesitate to return for major repairs. This is truly a shop I trust to handle any repair with precision and care. Thank you, Brian & family, for the excellent work!

Drove my truck up from Kentucky to get the $6K tune up, full timing set with new all aluminum oil pan. They were able to get me in quick, and had the vehicle ready for me to come back and pick up when I could due to my work schedule. Absolutely top notch quality work, with plenty of hoses and little extras replaced due to higher mileage and wear. Gave Brian complete consent to replace anything that needed replaced and feel like he did me right. Couldn't be happier with the service provided and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for high quality Ford repairs. Thanks guys!!

Congratulations, you have found the home of the Ford Whisperer. I have a 2017 Ford with a 3.5L engine. Had a cracked two piece plastic oil pan replaced at local dealer. 10,000 miles later I am having an issue. I asked a local shop if they do the metal conversion, sorry - Nope, don't know any body who does. Asked around some more...nope. This is not a small inexpensive job. No one around me does the metal conversion. Noticed a little cam phaser rattle/ tap. Those were replaced 40,000 miles ago under the Ford Program. Come to find out they were done using the "Old Style Phaser" which Ford seems to have a lot of lying around. Between these two issues we are talking about several thousand dollars....only to get second rate parts/ work. No freaking way. Did some hunting and found these folks. Convert the oil pan to metal, no problem. Cam phasers, they only use the new improved style and replace the other components that may have been jerked, popped, stretched etc while the old style phasers were being used and wearing out...not to mention the prior set of cam phasers before this. Yes, lets do it once and do it right, its slightly more expensive now but it is true economy over the long haul. I made my appointment and drove 1300 miles from S Florida to their shop. Parts were ordered in advance and were ready and waiting. Very professional. Work was done over 2.5 days as promised. Runs great. During the time they were working, I camped out at the local Holiday Inn. Chatting with the desk staff they asked why I was there, told them I came for some Ford work. They recounted that he had an excellent reputation locally and that they even had guests from Alaska stay there while they had work done....the far corners of the continent. A competent mechanic is hard to find. Vehicle runs great. Super tidy shop, friendly. Best to contact them by e-mail. You can turn wrenches or talk on the phone they turn wrenches. E-mail can be answered in time available. Time to answer me was reasonable. Start to finish a very positive experience. I would award 6 stars, but they only allow 5.

Contacted BSG Automotive regarding a check engine light and error code most likely indicating a timing issue on our 2014 Explorer Sport with the 3.5L Ecoboost engine and 150k miles. I contacted them via email and Brian replied he could fit the vehicle into his schedule the following week and the repair would take less than 2 days once he started. The repair was started on time and I was contacted by Michelle that afternoon to let me know the work was on schedule and the vehicle would be ready for pickup the following afternoon barring no issues. She also gave me a small list of recommendations from Brian on some additional parts to replace. He noticed these were worn during disassembly of the engine. She said these could be replaced and not impact the completion schedule. They even took care of getting one of the parts covered under warranty due to premature failure. We picked up the car the following day as promised. When I popped the hood to inspect the work I discovered Brian had detailed the engine compartment. Looked brand new. Car is running great, no leaks. Highly recommend BSG Automotive. Please support small businesses owners like BSG Automotive who take pride in their work and want you to leave a satisfied customer.

I brought my 22' F150 tremor there for some routine maintenance and it was a great experience! Alex was awesome and very knowledgeable! I can say that my truck runs better than the day I picked it up when it was brand new. I would much rather support the family owned business than a big store dealership. I highly recommend these guys!

Very high quality work. Unfortunately needed a timing job on my F150, but as work started I began to add on additional updates and upgrades to take advantage of the truck being out of commission and having Brian’s knowledge. Brian never once complained about the last minute, additional requests I made. I truly appreciated his commitment to getting my truck running right. When I got the truck back, the engine felt smooth and powerful. I was already familiar with his work having watched his YouTube channel, but after having work done I have no doubt that he really is the best for Ford trucks. If you are still taking your truck to the dealership, you truly are missing out.

Found Brian years ago on YouTube looking into common problems with these trucks. Upon watching I recognized a few roads he did test drives on and shot him a message to find out he was only a couple hours away! After I was quoted by the dealership for a whole new engine (timing guides and oil pump went) I was able to get on schedule with Brian. He went over every, little, detail on my truck. Explaining everything that happened and what is needed to fix it better than before. Timing, price and his expertise had my truck running better than brand new and saved me thousands of dollars. I have always been one to think dealerships knew everything, but after talking to a real technician I quickly realized they do not. Brian and his family will go above and beyond to help get you fixed up and running correctly! Appreciate you guys!!!

Brian did an amazing job on my truck! He is a perfectionist! I drove from Dallas all the way to Chicago to have him work on it. How much more needs to be said? My local dealer had a lot to be desired, and quite frankly.. I dont trust the dealers! The term "good enough " is not part of Brian's vocabulary. He either does the job thoroughly and complete or he doesn't do it at all! Thanks Brian!

BSG Automotive is a top-tier auto shop. I've brought my 2008 F-150 in for multiple issues. I've had a top end rebuild and two exhaust manifolds replaced on my 160K mile, 5.4L 3v, and it runs like a champ! Brian is an excellent mechanic with a great passion for what he does, and his costs are extremely competitive. Whether I keep my Ford or buy a new one, I will continue to get them serviced at BSG. Thank you to everyone at BSG.

BSG automotive is type of business America is built on. The owner, Brian, is focused on providing a great product at a reasonable price to any individual. At BSG Automotive, Brian is your service writer, service manager, automotive technician, automotive expert, and service cashier, all while trying to run a family owned small business. BSG does exceptional work and prices are more than fair, in fact it was cheaper to send my truck from North Alabama to BSG than to have it repaired locally. Thanks BSG Automotive for working with me to get the timing service completed and my air bag system repaired. The truck is running like new!

Far and away one of the best mechanics you will ever find. This guy really knows his stuff, especially when it comes to Fords. Brian has been taking care of my 2003 Expedition since 2010 and its still running beautifully today. Exceptional Service, Straight Shooter, Quality Work, and to top it off really Fair Prices. I wont take my vehicles anywhere else!
