Two weeks and my trash hasn’t been picked up. I get adverse weather conditions effecting routes but two weeks is bullshit. Still charged the same regardless. I should’ve gone into the garbage business.

I have been a customer of Burris Disposal for over 6 years. They are always on time and pick up my trash and recycling on a regular schedule. I have called if I am leaving town and they adjust for that. They were even willing to send someone out on a day that I forgot to put the trash out. I am very happy with their services and recommend Burris for your disposal needs.

For months it’s a hit miss .. no trash pickup and can’t seem to get the recycling bin picked up on the same day… I’ve called and ask what’s going on … I get the same excuse every time.. it’s either a employee not working or the truck is broke down … asked if I should start looking for another company and she was quick to say, we’ve been in business for years.. we aren’t going anywhere! Attitude with no accountability on their services!

If I could give zero stars, I would. Going four weeks without trash pickup for a family of seven is unacceptable. I had over 18 bags of trash piling up, creating serious health hazards for my family and neighbors—none of whom had their trash picked up. We were left feeling lost with nowhere to turn, and the lack of communication and disrespect when calling was horrific. No one who pays for service should be treated this way. This situation could have been resolved with proper communication and alternative solutions. Please do better—everyone deserves to be treated with kindness and respect and to receive the service they paid for. Fortunately, we found a better trash service, and so far, it’s been reliable.

Wish I could give less than 1 star. In re to Burris reply-you know full well you pick up the trash here. I've established service elsewhere and won't be renewing at the end of our term. Same price for better service, and none of your bs. Keep up the lousy work and eventually you'll be out of a job. On a side note, whoever answers the phone at Burris, needs to call Republic and learn a thing or two about customer service.

"Burris does an excellent job with our trash pick-up. Our house on route D3, and our driver always returns our cans upright. I always appreciate the transparency on Facebook when routes are delayed. The admin is always happy to help in the office whenever I call, too! Keep up the good work!"

Great prices offered but for 4 weeks in a row nobody picked up my trash. I’d call every time after where they’d apologize and credit me, which I appreciate. But the real problem is now the unimaginable mountain of trash my family home has accumulated after a full month. I have no use for a trash service that won’t pick up my trash. Canceled my service today, hopefully the next company doesn’t have the same issue.

Burris Disposal is fantastic. We had them at our Makanda house for almost 30 years. The drivers we had were very kind and considerate. Now we have been in Murphysboro for almost 3 years. We were so pleased we could continue using Burris. Aaron is our current driver. I can’t speak highly enough about him.

I used Burris for almost three years for our dumpster service and I couldn’t be happier. They were very fair on pricing and consistent with my pick ups. Would recommend them for sure.

Having lived many places, I've never experienced worse service. Last week they came a day late and decided not to collect our recycling. Today they blew through the neighborhood way earlier than usual and didn't collect anyone's trash. It's like their collection time each week is randomly generated and the decision to render service is based on the whim of the employees. Now we have to wait another week with trash baking in our garage because the company can't hold down a schedule, this 1 star review is the most deserved ever written. Sincerely, get it together.

Always a day late and they are extremely picky about what's recyclable. If one thing in there isn't accepted, they simply won't take any of it. They should also have online payment options. Honestly, what year is it that we can't recycle type 3 to 6 plastics or do online payments?! LOL to the reply below - I didn't live in the area when covid shut down most businesses. That said, I was forced on "leave" during that time without pay so being able to continue working and earning money is not a flex, dude.

We have been using Burris Disposal for our weekly trash and recycling pick up for over 15 years, and we can count on one hand the number of times there has been a problem with our pick up, usually due to a truck breaking down or a driver being out sick. The staff at the office are helpful and friendly, and it’s great that we can go online and check the holiday schedule or the status of our route. Very reasonable rates and great service, thank you!

My husband pays for trash service via check quarterly. Had Burris for almost two decades without issue. My husband received a call from a female alleging he hasn't made payment since Nov. This is highly unlikely and he offered to review bank statements and provide documentation in the way of cancelled checks. The female was hostile and continued to be unduly snarky and call was subsequently terminated. I attempted to reach out via telephone moments later and spoke to Donna. She was condescending abrupt and unacceptable in both tone and lack of customer service skills. After almost 20 years, as reliable customers, we will no longer utilize their services based upon this level of incompetence. The actual trash men were professional and personable. What a shame this level of disservice can affect an otherwise effective company.

Disappointed. They miss too many days.i get that stuff happens. Got my neighbor's 2 days late but I had to wait a week. When I talked to one of the ladies last week, she seemed to have an attitude. They've been in business too long to keep making these mistakes. If the founders were still in control, they'd be better.

I wish I could give this place -5 on stars they have told me I was gonna be charged for someone else’s old account before and even tho I asked for them to come get their dumpster they haven’t and are still trying to charge me for it good thing I recorded the last phone call of me asking them to come get it i will be calling the attorney general and the better business bureau after this incident cause this is terrible customer service and Yal trying to charge me after I requested you pick up your dumpster

Very disappointed! Paid for the year up front; most weeks recycling materials left behind in bins or scattered all over my lawn. When it snows, you may not see them for 2 weeks because if they deem the route “impassible” indifferent that the roads have been cleared 1 week prior. We called to inquire on when we can expect our trash pickup and were told to refer to the website that unfortunately did not include up to date information. We explained this to the employee and she had what seemed to be a nervous breakdown, explaining that I have no idea how hard things have been for them because of the snow. Ugh…OK. I called the number listed on their website to discuss my issues with the company and unfortunately was unable to speak with someone and left a message on their voicemail. I never heard back from them. I received a bill weeks after this incident for the upcoming months and decided not to renew the service, and did not send them any additional payments. Received a phone call today requesting payment for the last three months. I explained that I left a message regarding my discontent with their service and that I was not interested in renewing my service until I can speak with someone. Burris representative explains that the answering machine doesn't always work and I am required to pay them for 3 months. It doesn't matter that I had not left a single piece of trash at my curb since the day a left the message on the “broken answering machine” , they expect payment as they have been “looking for trash” as they pass by my house to collect my neighbors trash Carbondale citizens work hard for their money and shouldn’t be treated in the above manner. Please know that I will pay my outstanding bill with Burris, but request that this money be used for the purchasing of a new answering machine Also FYI, it cost $40/ 1200 lbs to bring your own trash to the local dump. Purchase a few cans and make an occasional run. You can even partner with your neighbor. You’ll save a ton of money

Just closed out my account. The only good thing I have to say is they refunded my money for not picking up my trash the last 4 outta 5 weeks. I called everyday and was always assured it would be handled by the end of the day only for my trash to blow all over the highway at night to be told the same thing again tomorrow. I tried to support a local small business but this isn’t the way

Burris Disposal is A+ in my book. They provide exceptional service. Their workers are just that… WORKERS! I always recommend Burris when I’m asked to recommend a waste disposal service. They provide fine recycle pickup. And this business is locally owned. That’s a big bonus.

This is a great company and I have nothing bad to say. They were communicative, well priced, and even left candy canes around the holidays. I definitely recommend this locally owned business. Furthermore, they are respectful unlike the bigger chains. They didn't race through the neighborhood like the others and they always waved when they saw us. Great company!

Very reliable - in a year they only missed 1 week and they came back for it after I called. The staff is very friendly when I call to pay my bill or have questions. Considering I've had other big name waste disposal who were indifferent and over charged, I was extremely pleased with their service.

Soon you will here their holiday promotions saying they pick up when others don’t. Yet, last year I heard this ad as a current customer with my garbage still here on the holiday. It seems like most times I have guests over my garbage is still here - Which is the worst time to have a pile up. They normally come around 3 PM for me. We usually have it out at 7:30 AM. If they decide to do your house first thing in the morning at 6:00 AM, then it’s your fault for not having it out and you need to pay $10 for them to come again. But they usually don’t come at all. Your trash is full until the next week. So you have to call and make sure they aren’t still charging you $10 because they did nothing. They have even thrown the lid to one of my cans away. Management is cordial, but sticks to excuses and never takes accountability. Long overdue, but I’m finally switching services.

Burris Disposal has always been so responsive and wonderful to our local Habitat for Humanity group. They let us use dumpsters for free and Republic dumps them for free. Donna is always so kind when I call... even with last minute requests. And I've gotten to recognize a couple of the drop off guys who always do their best to drop the dumpster right where we need it. We so appreciate them! My spouse and I got a roll off last year when we did a remodel at our home. The driver was great and really cared about putting it in place and also about not damaging our driveway with the big truck. We appreciate the customer care from Burris.

Not good at communicating it they will not pick up at the regular schedule. My regular pick up day is Thursday. I left the trash out Wednesday night for Thursday, no pick up, no communication. I left it out Thursday night for Friday pickup, they didn’t come by and no call letting me know. When I called they just said, “sorry we’re short staffed and the heat is making us get behind.” I think the guy just drove by today, on Saturday, but I didn’t have the trash out since I didn’t know he was coming today. I asked the lady if she can call him to come back, she said “no.”Now I’ll have to wait for next week. This is not good customer service.

We have had Burris for our weekly garbage service for 30 years. They are reliable and professional business. We have also used one of their roll off’s and they did a furniture pickup one time for us. Both services provided on time and reasonable priced.

For instance yesterday, following Labor Day, they picked up at 8:15pm! Dedication! Thank you Burris for getting the job done even after hours! I’ve used Burris Disposal for six years now. They have always been professional and consistent. My route driver will even leave Christmas cards and things like that for me. I’ve never had a problem with billing and the price is very fair. I would recommend them to anyone in the area. These guys are some real essential workers that get over looked more than most. Thanks for never missing a day during all this mess going on the past couple of months. A job well done.

I had a previous company (Extreme Waste Removal). I paid for 3 months of trash services. My trash was supposed to be picked up once a week as normal trash would be. Extreme only picked up my trash 5 times out of 3 months and I would have to call several times just to get them to come out. I called Burris and spoke with a lady that was very kind, courteous and professional. I had told her the situation and that my trash was built up from not being picked up for weeks. She sent a driver out that day and my trash service began that quick. Their driver’s are extremely nice and pick up everything that may fall on the ground while they’re dumping your cans, leaving NO mess. The driver that picks up my trash is an A+ guy. He’s been nothing but polite and courteous. They even offer a service where you don’t have to drag your trash to the street. They will back down the driveway and pick it up. Now that’s hassle free. Their services are great. I want to thank Burris for your services. I would recommend them to anyone that wants quality services as well as great pricing.
