Today is Saturday yes, I arrived at 11:25 am they're not supposed to close till 12 but I was greeted with " we're not taking anyone else, how rude, they shut the big doors at 11:50- I was waiting to ask a question but never had the chance to ask they just acted like I wasn't even there! I never have been treated so rude in my entire life as I have been today! I don't even want to leave 1 star but to post this I had to....
Josh that works in the weighing area for copper/aluminum etc really helped me out at this place. I called Marion location to get a price on what I was bringing in. Got there and they told me a totally different price And didn’t give a rip to help or do anything about it. I decided to go to Carbondale and went to this place just to see while i was over there. I really just needed my truck bed empty and didn’t have time to come back to a scrap yard or the fuel to waste at 4.50 for diesel. He ended up giving me a much better price because how the Marion yard treated me. Wasn’t what I was originally told but he called them to verify what I was told and let them know they told me wrong and that they had done that to people over there a few times recently. Could be new hires, not sure. But at least he is trying to get that sorted out on the spot. The locations were very clean for scrap yards. And I definitely appreciated Josh’s help and the guys there that went through what I brought in to get me the best price on what I had.
This place in Carbondale is known to rip you off on your scrap every chance they get. I'm not the only one that's been done that way. They will weigh your scrap light. Or will down grade your clean Aluminum to breakage.

I now go to T&T Recycling in Hurst Illinois. Friendly people work at T&T. Honest weights and most of all they dont try to rip you off.
I will never go back to CIMCO!
Everyone was very nice and helpful. It was my first experience and came in a little anxious, but the process was smooth at all areas of recycling. I had most everything pre-sorted which helped.
Nice clean place to recycle. Have been using this place for over 22 years. They have changed over time but it was always a great improvement. Thanks for your great service to the community.
This was the worst experience I have had at any business in years. Next time I'll throw my old metal in the garbage can before entering this house of employee rage known as Cimco. There are no instructional signs and both the office and yard employee literally yelled at me because I was not familiar with the procedure. Avoid Cimco at all costs unless new management comes in and cleans house. Pathetic. I wouldn't trust these people to take care of livestock, let alone work with the general public.
We have used Cimco to weigh the trucks at work for years. The workers have been helpful and flexible, and invoicing is easy. We will continue to use their services for the foreseeable future.
