I was recently involved in a minor car collision that left some transfer paint marks on my vehicle. The damage wasn’t severe, so I didn’t want to go through my insurance and end up paying a $500 deductible plus rental fees for such minor repairs. I visited several body shops, but their quotes were even higher than my deductible. Then I found Mid American Body Shop and spoke with Sam. I can’t express how much I appreciate his help. He didn’t charge me for the work he did and was upfront in explaining that while some of the marks might not come off completely, he’d do his best—and he did. I’m grateful for his honesty, generosity, and the fact that he wasn’t trying to take advantage of the situation. If you’re looking for a fair, ethical place to get body work done, this is it. I highly recommend Mid American Body Shop—and definitely ask for Sam. He was fantastic.

I compared them to Sam's nextdoor. Sam's wanted 4K. MidAm did work for 1.5K. Sam wanted pre-approval for unspecified hours to fix a small rust patch. MidAm took one look at the patch and gave me an exact, reasonable price. Good people.
I went to Mid America to repair a broken mirror and dented exterior on my subaru and I received nothing but great service from Mid America. Their service was high quality and timely, allowing me to drive in no time.
This shop did a great job repairing some minor cosmetic/body damage that was done to our car in a parking lot. The quality of work was good, and the pricing was rather fair. It only took a couple days to get done, and they offered me a ride home while my car was indisposed.
There was even an unexpected discount when I picked my car up, because the manager didn't want to type in the cents durning payment processing, ha.

I hate writing this negative review, because this is a family-owned business serving Evanston for a long time. But I feel like it's the only responsible thing to do.
Brought my BMW i3 for front bumper cover repainting. Car was ready to pick up in about 48 hours.
The color was not even close to matching the body. But the car is 10 years old and the price was reasonable ($600, I think?), so I was going to live with it.
The next several days after I picked up the car, the frunk hood warning light kept coming on, and I kept pulling over to push it down. Finally I went to open it to see if something was getting stuck, and the hood went under the A frame moulding and made a huge paint defect. The frunk was so misaligned it couldn't be opened with damaging it.
Took the car back to show them the issue. They offered to fix it, but I chose instead to go somewhere else to fix it. Why should I trust them to do a good job after my experience thus far?
The other shop charged me $1,400 to fix the issue caused by / unidentified by Mid America. 🫤
Giving two stars vs one because the family owning the business seem like really good people. I hope they are successful. But I wasted $600 going to them.
Sam and Mid America Body Shop fixed my side mirror after a hit and run on Dodge street outside of the Levy center while I coached my sons baseball team. came out to a smashed side mirror with no witnesses or cameras on the houses across the street. The work was fast and at a great price. Thank you do much.

For reference: I went to Gold Coast Auto body in Chicago and was quoted $2300 for a dent removal and paint repair for my bumper and rear quarter panel.
Sam did it ALL for $1000. Honestly...blown away with the quality and am planning on bringing my my other vehicles in for touchups etc.

Sam and Bassam were amazing! Several months ago, our car got really dented up in a Texas hail storm. Since we were moving to Evanston, we decided to wait to repair it here, and I'm so glad we did. They were so wonderful to work with, and I really appreciated working with a family-run business. Their attention to detail was amazing; our truck (F150 lightning) looked better when they were done than the day we drove it off the lot on the day we bought it. The hood damage was so extreme they had to order a new hood; when they were shipped the wrong hood, they made sure to communicate quickly with me about the delay, and it was absolutely worth the wait. While no one hopes to need an auto body shop, they're the ones I'll call if I ever do again. Thank you Sam, Bassam, and your amazing team!
Sam and his brother were amazing and so nice! I got into an accident and they did such a great job fixing my car and very quick/efficient too! They even drove me to Enterprise to pick up my rental! I cannot say enough good things about my visit! Brought my car in because the remote trunk open button was not working on my key fob. The guys here took one look at it, diagnosed the problem, and helped me 100% free! Rather than bring the car in and charge me for something that took two seconds to fix, they fixed it on the spot and were extremely courteous about it. I have full faith in the honesty of this business after my experience and will bring my car here should it need any body work in the future.
I was skeptical in taking my car to the mechanic because I’m a woman. And I’m scared I’ll get taken advantage of but thankfully the guys here were very nice, and answered all of my questions. They were very helpful, they also worked around my schedule as much as they could! I would definitely recommend this Mechanic shop. I took my car for a dent and scratches, and it looks totally NEW now. No scratches or dents anymore ! And the exact same color as my scratch!
Sam and his brother did a fantastic job in fixing my 2014 Avalon. I was able to pick up my car on the promised date, got a huge discount and the paint job was as if nothing happened. Before deciding to have my car serviced, I canvassed around the area and Mid America had the best rate among others. Totally worth it and the owners, Sam and Basam were amazing!
I had an outstanding experience here. My front car door was scratched and I tried to fix it myself with some auto touchup paint that was a disaster. I took this in expecting to be quoted hundreds of dollars at least. The people here was so nice - they buffed out the door and fixed it to my amazement - at no charge. While I was lucky (was told this doesn't always work) I wouldn't hesitate to take my car there again and am recommending this place to my neighbors and friends.

I had a broken rear end bumper and brought my car in. Sam had it fixed in a few days and the result was great! My car looks brand new again. He said it was life time warranty and gave me a little discount at checkout. Everything was so smooth, he and his brothers were super nice and friendly. Loved the experience overall!!!!
Fantastic work at unbeatable rates! I damaged some body panels and the dealer's body shop wanted to replace everything with an estimate in the thousands. Mid America repaired instead of replaced, with the result looking like it was brand new from the factory. They were quick and efficient and provided excellent work. I highly recommend.
Great service! I stopped by for the estimate for fixing the scratch on the side of my car, which was given promptly. The extremely nice and helpful gentleman right away improved the look of the scratch for no charge! Before and after photos attached. Highly recommend this business.
I brought my car to Mid America and Sam was the best. He worked seamlessly with Farmers Insurance to get estimate and order all the parts before I dropped off. It took him less than a week once he started work and my car looks brand new. He detailed interior and exterior of my car and gave me a ride to drop off the rental when my car was ready for pick up. Communication and service were excellent from start to finish. Go with Mid America Body Shop and you will not be disappointed.
I had a great experience at Mid America Body Shop this evening. They were helpful, honest, and more than generous, so that I could have the best solution possible. My side mirror cover kept falling off due to a prior accident, and they were able to fix it quickly (less than 20 minutes total at the shop) and even made it complementary since it was an easy fix. I called this place after a incident with my drivers side mirror , they requested that I come in and let them look at the vehicle . I went in ,they verified everything they needed and gave me a great price for labor and painting my mirror(I purchased from the dealer ) . We arranged installation the next day and they did a GREAT JOB !! I highly recommend them !!!
Fantastic service and quality of work. The brothers were courteous, kind, and accommodating. They installed a new electronic latch on the back door of our Kia for only the cost of the part, no labor. They fixed a dent and scrape on the rear bumper and quarter panel for FAR LESS than the dealership would have charged (far less than what it would have cost had insurance paid for it, too, for that matter). They replaced the right side blinker for free. This was all one visit, and our total cost was very reasonable. They're not a big enough outfit to be able to offer a courtesy car, so be aware of that if you're a one-car family and can make alternate plans if your car needs to stay with them a few days. But that's no reason to give them less stars. I'd happily go there again. Thanks guys!
I had wonderful experience when I dealt with brothers Sam and his younger brother. First I explained what I want, they listened the details and I right away realize they are very professionals. Gave my car on time. There were hail damages on my car. There were spots which were not so visible but they took care of each and every one. The paint job and body work is excellent.
I will always recommend this shop to all my friends as well as my family and since it’s a family own business, they don’t want any bad name for this business. An awesome experience of this unique body shop. Loved it.

I had run over a large rock that had separated my fender from the bumper.. and with winter coming up, it was just a matter of time before the car would've started to rust. I had taken it to 2 other places prior that had quoted me $300-500 more than what this shop had for the same work. After reading some reviews and hearing out how Sam would repair the damage, I was ready to leave the car. Sam was able to complete the repairs in less than 2 days! Not only was the work done right, I was able to be on my way! An honest shop that does the job right. Don't let the plain storefront or the bitter suburban-mom yelp reviews discourage you. Look at the majority of happy customers!
