This establishment is the best! Reminds me of how things were done in the old days. Everyone gets bumps and bruises on your car, especially if you have kids that drive. In the past when my kids had issues like broken side view mirrors or minor bruises Lakeside took care of it expeditiously and at a fair price. Today I went there for a trim issue on my car that was caused by me scraping the ice off my windshield. One trip through the carwash and it was now a larger issue. The gentleman behind the desk came right out and said he could take care of if I came back in an hour. Sure enough, I went back and he took care of it in 30 minutes while I waited. I asked how much and he said it was on the house! That never happens these days! Please support this business, they are great!
Unfortunately, this is the second time we’ve needed Armand and Lakeside Autorebuilders this year — but once again, they proved why we will never go anywhere else.
When my husband was recently in an accident, I called Armand to ask if he could help us. Even though he was fully booked through January, he still found a way to fit us in. We had the car towed to Lakeside, and instead of letting it sit for weeks while we waited for parts, Armand went above and beyond: he literally cut a hole in the bumper to pull out the bent muffler so the car would be safe to drive.
Since this accident was considered 50/50 fault, we only had 30 days of rental coverage — and Armand saved us from paying for extra out of pocket rental fees. He did all this before insurance had even gotten involved. He didn’t do it for business; he did it because he’s genuinely a good person.
He knew we were just trying to get another year out of our 11-year-old car, and he helped make that possible. Once the parts arrived, he called us, we dropped the car off, and it was finished in LESS THAN A WEEK. He even removed the old peeling dealer sticker and fixed the trunk springs that kept giving out — small things, but incredibly appreciated.
I never expected to be on a first-name basis with an auto body repair guy, but after being saved twice this year, I’m grateful we found Armand. Hopefully we get a break from accidents… but if we ever need help again, we’re only going to Lakeside.

After being in an accident with my less-than-two-month-old car, I was overwhelmed and didn’t know where to turn. I wasn’t familiar with the area, but I was told that Lakeside Auto Rebuilders were the best in the business—so I had my car towed there.
The accident happened on a Saturday and left my car undriveable. Insurance took nearly two weeks to approve the work because of an uncooperative at fault driver, but Lakeside held onto my car without a single complaint. Because my car was so new, parts were back ordered, and they ended up having my vehicle for 10 weeks. Through all of it, their kindness and professionalism stood out. They kept me updated every step of the way, always patient and reassuring.
When I finally got my car back, I was blown away. It looks and drives exactly like it did the day I brought it home from the dealership—and yes, they even kept their promise that it would still have that “new car smell.” ?
I will never take my car anywhere else. Lakeside Auto Rebuilders went above and beyond, and I cannot recommend them enough!

I haven't had any repairs done on my car yet, but I wanted to share how impressed I was with their professionalism. After being rear-ended, I brought my car in for an estimate. Armen, the owner, was punctual and took the time to explain everything clearly. He also gave me some really helpful advice. His staff got me in and out quickly, and the whole experience left me feeling confident in their work.

Going to Lakeside was a wonderful experience. Everyone I talked to was kind and professional. They take care of the insurance so you don't have to and communicate with you all along the repair process. Highly recommend.
A classic case of underpromising and overdelivering. I creased the passenger side of my 2018 Audi Q5. I was referred to Armen and Lake Side Auto Rebuilders. The whole back door had to be replaced along with various accessory pieces. Armen told me he was backed up for 2-3 mos. and then it might take up to two weeks once I brought the car in. But I got a call about 2 weeks later to bring her in. They did the most amazing job and in just a few days. The work and paint job are seamless; there's no way to distinguish the new parts from the old. What's more, the car was returned to me in pristine condition - washed, vaccuumed and exterior surface scratches buffed out. I'm not the only one who's notices - friends keep asking me if I got a new car! I hope to never have to return to Lake Side AR but if I ever have the need, this will be my one and only stop.
I don’t know why I haven’t left a review sooner. I can’t recommend Lakeside and Armen highly enough. I first met Armen in the early 2000s when a garbage truck backed into my car. I’ve been back for body repair through the years (tight garages with concrete pillars are my nemesis). Without fail, Armen does exceptional work. My car always looks beautiful and the repairs are flawless. The car is also returned so beautifully clean. Armen is unfailingly respectful and super patient. You can trust his pricing is fair and he does good, honest work. He’s organized and his shop is well run and clean. He is always true to his word and I trust him completely. Damaging your car is upsetting, but Armen always calms my fears because I know I’m in good hands. Armen is a gem and he runs an exceptional body repair shop.

I finally brought my car in to be repaired a year after a hail storm swept through the area and left my car with dozens of quarter size dings.
Lake Side Auto Rebuilders is a family owned shop and a certified Stated Farm approved provider, which made the whole process go smoothly.
I had checked another shop in the area to get a quote but no one was wearing a mask there and that made me uncomfortable. (This was back when local vaccines were still in short supply.)
Armen, who runs the shop with his father, was so kind and professional. He also assisted me with the car rental process with the local Enterprise so when I dropped off my car... they were waiting with a rental ready to go.
The bonus was they finished the job several days before he promised plus my car looked brand new when they were done.
I highly recommend Lake Side Auto Rebuilders in Evanston and I highly recommend keeping your car in a garage during a hail storm!
My first review and I have to say that Armen and his team is the best in Chicago Area. My car got an accident that ruined left side doors. I called them and Armen set up an appointment to estimate the damage and cost. He explained the detail of the process very professionally and he helped to save the cost at the best. And I dropped my car the day after. 1 week later, I got my car like brand new. The hardest part is my car is in a complex mental grey color, while Lexus doesn't sell paint. But Armen's team got the color 100% match. I can't tell any difference by the color at all. It's my best auto repair experience so far. Will definitely recommend to all my friends.
We got into an accident that was our fault. I Was referred to a gentleman by the name of Armand at Lakeside auto rebuilders. I called them to set up an appointment to assess the damage and cost. They got me in very fast. The parts that needed to be replaced or explain to me and to my insurance company. The day I drop the car off I was given a timeframe that was perfectly met. The morning I went to pick up my Subaru outback the car was ready clean and look like it had never been in a small fender bender. I appreciate the promptness and professionalism that they provided me. I hope we do t have any other fender benders, But if the unforeseen happens I will definitely return to give them my business.
My family has used Lakeside in the past and been very happy with their work, so when my car was involved in a bad hit-and-run accident on the highway I had it towed here. Armen told me the car was totaled and explained to me in detail exactly why it wasn't worth fixing. After explaining to me what I could do with my totaled car moving forward, he recommended selling the car to a different junk yard than the one I had in mind because he thought they would give me more money for it, and he was right. He even arranged everything up for them to pick up the car. This is a small business and you can tell that they care about their customers, and dealing with the same person every time you contact them is so easy and so refreshing. So many chain/big businesses will make you talk to a bunch of different people, explain your situation over and over, etc. Not this place. They respect you and your time. Thanks again.
Armen and his team did a wonderful job (again!) on my vintage Honda Civic! In addition to providing excellent customer service, they consistently demonstrate the highest levels of both technical expertise and artistic craftsmanship. Work on my (almost classic) red car also requires careful paint matching and they always do a perfect job! Matching older red paint can be very tricky. I cannot recommend Lake Side Auto Rebuilder's highly enough. They always do a very professional job and can be trusted to work their wonderful magic on your car, too!
Very pleased with Lakeside Auto Rebuilders in Evanston. I've brought my car there several times and will continue to do so. Armen and the team do great job, and they are very courteous, offering to drive me to work and pick me up when it's finished (even during pandemic! Thanks guys!). I cannot recommend Lakeside Auto Rebuilders enough. From the very first conversation with Armand I knew I was in good hands and the experience only improved from there. State Farm in Evanston (also an amazing business - rep Laurie Hamilton) referred me to Lakeside for a damage claim. The paperwork was seamless and Armand got my car in the very next day and came up with a creative, cost effective way of doing the repairs. As a woman interacting with garage repair shops I often feel that I will be taken advantage of as there is typically an assumption of ignorance about cars. I completely trust Armand and will continue as a loyal customer. I live on the south side of Chicago, but Lakeside Auto is worth the trip.
I took my Honda Odyssey there to have some minor body work done. They were courteous on the phone and in person, and the repair was done quickly and at a fair price. They even provided a ride to and from my home, even though it was just a $75 job. I would give them 6 stars if I could.
The only place where my family and I feel comfortable that our car is taken care of after an accident. Super friendly. High quality. Experts when it comes to anything related to fixing cars after accidents and and all the hoops insurance companies make you go through. An asset to to Evanston and the North Shore.
This is the ONLY place you should take your car for body work. Armen goes out of his way to deliver A+ customer service, they will deal with the rental car companies directly, and will also take care of communicating with the insurance company. I have taken two cars to Lakeside and will never go anywhere else. I am so appreciative of their willingness to work with me and keep me updated no matter how long the job will take (which is usually less time than they originally estimate). I would give them more stars if I could. This place is fantastic, because they go above and beyond for their customers.
Arman and team are really good, and honest. I've had my car repaired here a couple of times. Very polite and professional, and they usually complete work before their estimated completion time.
Update: I was offered a full refund. I will say that the owners response did not seem truthful as I was never offered an option have the paint blended. But I am upgrading my review to a 3 star.
Original review: After having a positive experience last year I returned for a rust repair on my Mercedes. Within a week after the the car was returned I saw rust bubble through the paint. Then Armen at Lakeside offered to repaint it again. After another week the rust returned and my co-workers noticed that the paint did not match. He wanted me to pay for the repair again to fix the problem.
