This company is truly amazing! I was referred here, and honestly, I was a bit hesitant at first because I’d been dealing with constant problems elsewhere—one issue after another that never seemed to get resolved. But from the moment I came here, it was a completely different experience.
I dropped off my keys, and they got the job done right—no guessing games, no unnecessary work. These are real mechanics who fix exactly what needs to be fixed, nothing more and nothing less. I’m so impressed because I’ve wasted so much time and money at other places that didn’t solve the actual problem. Coming here was such a relief!

They are scam artists, I guess they believe that they can tell you any price and you should be dumb enough to roll with it. I took a 2009 Chevy Malibu there to get my front end checked out and after they checked it out, they're so slick that they actually called my wife instead of me with hopes of staining her. They told her $950 to replace the front 2 outter tie rod ends, the front 2 lower control arms, and the sway bar bushings. Here's the funny thing.. those parts all together total up to roughly $250 at Autozone and that's on the expensive side, if you really want a bang for your buck, you can just grab a quality front end kit from 1a auto for a couple hundred bucks. Before you let these people check on your car do your homework. I wouldn't even recommend them to anyone because they just showed me complete dishonesty. I guess if you move to the burbs these shops assume you're just some goof troop. Please take your business elsewhere, it's plenty of other shops with honest people who do quality work at a reasonable price. For the ones who are posting good reviews, maybe they have had a better experience because of their race or something. I don't know, but imo, they must think a ninja is dumb.
My guy knows the people that own this place .. He took me up there just so they could look at A/C Compressor .. got it back the same day because I needed a new one . All they had to do was look at it . They didn’t put my belt back own which cost me $200 tow and over heating of the car which took me 4 hours to get home from work . Never will I ever go back to this business . This just one of the other problems they caused by not putting the belt back on
Great place to fix you car they take some time to check you vehicle but its ok if you want a very good repair. I have a friends the are mechanics but they don't work like this mechanic shop I totally recommend.
I have been going there over 10 years. The prices are good. They are very reliable and honest. You can bring your own parts they will install. You have to come early.
I was told to drop my car off on a Monday and it would be ready by Tuesday. I went to check on my car 3 days later on a Thursday and they hadn't even started working on it. I took back my keys and went somewhere else. I'll never go there again.
Automex did a great job getting me in and out. They also have my great prices and their customer service was wonderful. This is the only shop I’ll be taking my car too from now on.
Very rude...if something happens to your car...while in thier possession...you can forget about answers..they will play the dumb role.....they are only interested...in taking you money..once they have that...adios.....I will never bring my car there again..Inthoight I had found a good auto place that would not try and take advantage of me..Guess I was wrong....
They weren't capable to deal with my 1992 Dinosaur, but they were very friendly and polite in telling me so and why; DB1 reader is required for vehicles older than 1995/6. So I learned something, not a total loss!

Been here several times because I didn't know where else to go. They are hit or miss very pricey and they return your car late ALWAYS.... Even though at times they are slightly cheaper but with long wait and often you need to bring it back because they missed something doesn't make it worth it. They don't scan your car they go based on what you think it is, PAY for the scan! And make sure they put all work or guarantee in writing because they try and switch prices on you after work is complete. GO ELSEWHERE!!! if you go the dad/owner doesn't know anything you've been warned...
The worst service. I Had a issue and they charged $180 the 1st time to fix the issue. 2 days later, issue was not fixed. Charged another $150 "guessing" what the issue was. A day after that, issue was not fixed. He then suggested i go to the dealer to resolve the issue but didnt want to refund my money. Then he said if i went and let the dealer fix the issue and it wasnt a part that he replaced, he would refund me the $150. I let the dealer fix it, took the receipt to auto mex then he lied and said he didnt agree to refund me. I WILL NEVER RETURN THERE AND SUGGEST NOONE ELSE GOES! Poor customer service and lies to get your $$$$.
Hands down the best auto repair shop in the South suburbs! My daughter told me about them originally. I have been going there ever since. its been almost 10 years! I recently had a rear hub bearing replaced on a Cadillac excellent price, fast fast service!!!
Very friendly service, faster than most shops, honest, and there price is very reasonable. They do what you ask them to do without question if they can and don't care if you bring your own parts. A++++ in my book
I've heard nothing but good things regarding this shop before going. Unfortunately, my experience has been horrible. On May 30th I went in to get my thermostat replaced. The gentlemen, who may have been a manager or the owner said he would check if there's an issue with my radiator. He came back and told me that my radiator cap need replacing and I needed 2 quarts of engine oil aside from needing a thermostat. After I leave the shop, I still smelled antifreeze and the temperature gauge was still raising up to H and the car was leaking antifreeze. My car never leaked antifreeze until they replaced the thermostat. I went back up there on my next day off (2 days later) and advised them of the issue. The guy comes back and told me the bottom housing of the radiator hose need replacing and that it's rusted because the car is old. Let's back up to Tuesday May 30th, they never told me about this issue. Spoken with another mechanic and explained the issue and was advised they did something wrong. It was not suppose to leak antifreeze after changing the thermostat. Automex refused to correct the issue nor take accountability for their mistake. I will never do business with them again!
Took my car Thursday called to see what was wrong the one of the guys didn't even know the car was there. They checked it Friday morning didnt do it Said it would be 360 fast foward to today (Saturday) told me at 12 they would be done before the end of the day... they closed before I could get it
Today I took my car to be fixed,first it was really bad news!!! Then several hours later Joe called me an tell me know it was not as bad as they thought! Auto mex is very honest an very trustworthy repair shop. I would recommend everyone to go here!!!! Thanks Auto Mex!!!
