I was very upset with the quality of customer service I received, actually didn't receive. I made an appointment for a 10:00 AM oil change. When I arrived at 9:50, I waited over 15 minutes to speak with a customer service person. Once I did, he said it would be about 60- to 90 minutes for the oil change. Which is fair. However, when I asked, at 11:30, if my car was ready, the CSR said they hadn't even looked at it yet. First, a 10:00 appointment is a 10:00 appointment. Second, no one bothered to contact me to let me know there would be a delay. I was sitting there for 90 minutes waiting. I will never recommend Pep Boys. Unprofessional and a huge lack of care for their customers time and their own appoitment schedule. what a waste of time.

Rude didnt acknowledge me when i came in took a minute to speak to me while they spoke to eachother about downtown?.. told me I was leaking power steering fluid but in the same breath said I needed to pay 45 dollars for a special dye to see if it was leaking tht fluid ..took it to a shop after it was infact not power steering fluid it was oil also Was quoted 3000 dollars . The shop its at now quoted me 1500 ....

Walked in Monday morning to see if I can get service for a air sensor for my tire. I was there for 5 hours. Was only talk to 1 time For the progress of my vehicle When they finally told me, my vehicle was ready. My air sensor on my tire was still not working so he informed me. You have to drive it for a little while and it should pop on I drove it for a couple of days and it's still not working. I feel like they should have test driven it theirself to see if the sensor would connect.

I had a great experience! I came in for an appointment to replace my rear brakes and rotors, and also decided to have my battery, cabin air filter, and wipers replaced. They completed everything in under two hours, and the price was very reasonable. My car feels so much better now! The service advisers, Yahir and Wence, were especially friendly and helpful. I really appreciate the excellent service and will definitely be back.

I will continue to take my car to Pep Boys. My car was making this crazy noise when I had to turn or backup. I was told I needed a sway bar. I thought it was going to be very expensive, but it was reasonable and fit my budget. Now my car drives the way it should. Thank you Pep Boys‼️

This place does not fix car problems they only reroute codes to buy themselves time and scam costumers. They didn’t do anything I asked them to in order to reassure me the car was diagnosed properly and they don’t properly update me on anything going on with my vehicle, when they so called made any repairs I had to call them to find out and all they told me was my vehicle was ready for pickup. When I got my car back I still had the same problem I went in for.

Made an appointment for 12:30 and waited over 4 hours for my tires to be put on. Multiple employees told me it was going to be a couple of hours.

I made a purchase,Saturday at 4 pm for 2 tire installation to be paid at the store.I Felt lucky to get this appointment.I arrived at around 4:15. And waited for my turn. 1 service writer was helping a customer. About 5 minutes later another employee assisted me.I informed him I had a 5 pm appointment. He answered they could take care of my tire installation today.so I cancelled the order then.after a less than 2 minute interaction.. 2 things I disliked. 1 why was my appointment taken if there were no appointments available?. Why no one informed me I would not be able to receive the service I requested ? I would have not wasted my time driving there. 2 the store closes at 7. 4 tire techs were having fun in the back .as I walked out and around the shop parking lot, I saw them again. They were interacting with someone in a pick up.who just as I got to my car.started doing burn outs.that is totally unprofessional both in service and safety fir people walking by

I just recently today asked for pep boys inside of broadview square and all I needed was them to check the oils and brakes to assure it was road ready to drive to Minnesota. Then 2 hours later I call to check to see how long will it be and the guy was reluctant to say he broke the lever to raise the hood. Then I had to go find my vehicle. No assistance at all . Terrible service. If you have a vehicle to be serviced Don't go to the one inside broadview village. So rude . So disrespectful. I will never go there again and I will tell everyone I know never to use any of there services .. not just broadview but any of their facilities.

Made a 9:30 appointment online to fix a tire which was low on air, not completely flat, and got there on time. Guy behind the counter asked if I was going to wait or come back. He said it would be a “couple hours”.. I told him I reserved a 9:30 appointment time. He then said he has 2 or 3 cars ahead of me not including the ones already on the lifts. What’s the point of making an appointment time? Ridiculous. I gave my money to a competitor.

I went to this location for a flat tire on 09/10/2025, they recommend a new tire, and I was agreeing to pay them around $ 280.00; what I noticed is that the vehicle was very unstable when I drive; I went for a second time to the same location thinking that they could fix it faster and I drop off my vehicle on 09/27/2025, I paid around $ 950.00 and they still have my car because they damage the Pre-collision systems (PCS) are advanced driver-assistance technologies designed to prevent or mitigate collisions by detecting potential hazards and automatically applying brakes if necessary.

Great experience at this location! I was all prepared in my mind to have my alternator replaced. Turns out it was jus a loose ground cable from my battery that needed to be tighten. They could have really taken me and I would have never know. kudos to Israel at the from counter and the the technician whose name i don't remember for being so honest!

Absolutely incompetent! -5stars but can’t post without picking a star. Since the over night Melrose Park location, I have tried bringing my car to the Broadview location. If I didn’t purchase the tires at Pep Boys, I would definitely go somewhere else. Starting with scheduling an appointment on the phone(took ALL my info), at check-in was told there is no appointment. After hours of waiting on the oil change/tire rotation, was told only driver’s side tires could be changed because nut is stuck and now they are closing, come back tomorrow at 8am. Was back as told, no mechanic, no tools to fix nut, come back another day. Drove out to Hodgkins for help. TBC

Uber needs find a better partner than Pep Boys. Service is terrible and slow. I watched them change the plates and park the car 30 mins ago, and im still waiting for inspection paper work to be filled out. Every time I ask about it "we still gotta do the inspection report" as it jus sits on the desk unattended.

Customer service was not great. I walked in and wasn't greeted by the assistant manager at the desk. Person just stared at me until I spoke. They had way too many customers. The same person had no idea where my car was. "It's probably over there." If you have too many customers and not enough employees, you need to decline customers.

I used to be a loyal client, but after getting a brake job here at the end of March, I’ve had nothing but problems. Soon after, I started hearing noise and squeaking. The first time, they fixed the noise, but the squeaking never went away. I came back several times asking them to recheck it, but the answer was always the same: “We don’t see any issue, the squeak should fix itself with time.” Today I even recorded how bad the squeaking is and showed it at check-in. After waiting, the response I got again was: “We don’t see any issue. Maybe it could be solved with grease, but that would be an extra charge.” I’m totally disappointed with this place. They charge you, don’t solve the problem, and then suggest charging more for something that should have been done right the first time.

They did a great job for me. Patched a tire and only charged $24.00. This was on a Sunday too. I appreciated that they got me in early and I only waited about 30 minutes for them to evaluate and fix the tire.

After the last Pep boys screwed up my ac check, i was sent here because the Lombard Pep boys not only has a broken ac machine but is being permanently shut down, can only imagine why....was told when appointment was scheduled there would be no charge as the only reason i have to come back is because of another Pep boys mistake. Then after inspection was done i was told i was being charged $55 for my free inspection. On top of that technician Israel permanently ruined my carpet, so thanks again Pep boys.

I had an appointment, my car wasn’t taken at that time. I waited, accepting the business service. The brakes seem to be working fine for now! I was quoted $225 for rotors, but bill stated $227, when I got home.

I received service in April for front rotors and brakes. It took them 2 days to do the job and didn’t even take my car back after hours. The technician stripped my caliper bolts by over tightening and thought it would be a good idea to put a piece of rubber band or leather there to hold it. I’m still having issues with my car making clunking noises after they also claimed it was the sway bar link making the noise. My local mechanic took pictures of what pep boys did and told me not to ever go back to this place. I got all the repairs I needed from him and add on the caliper mount and bolts that pep boys damaged. I expect pep boys to reimburse me for the damage they caused. This business is unprofessional. I would have hoped somebody would tell me that they damaged something instead of putting some rubber or leather there. Obviously this made driving very unsafe without my knowledge and I could have been harmed. Somebody will pay for what they did, people like that shouldn’t be allowed to work on vehicles.

I do not recommend this place. Had to click a star to post but I give this place zero stars. Brought my car in at 9am on a Tuesday. I was told I would hear back in about an hour and a half about what the issue was. I had to call and leave a voicemail because they don't answer the phones. They said I needed a belt and tensioner, I said ok and also asked for an oil change, they said no problem. I asked how long it would take, they said about 2 hours. I showed up at 3:30pm since I had not heard back. They forgot the oil change. I said fine. I turn my car on and it's now making a different noise. They took it back in and came out saying it's the water pump and was quoted $637.00. I asked if I could drive it without damaging anything. I was assured I could drive it. Next day, my battery light turns on and I can no longer steer my car, I had to pull the wheel with all I could to pull over to the side. Coolant was all over the ground. The belt they had changed fell off. Had to get the car towed. They put the car back together and a water pump on Thursday but the car was still making a loud noise. Since I had already missed two days of work that week, I said I would bring the car back the following week. They claim they didn't hear the noise. I asked the guy at the front desk to drive with me in the lot and he heard it. He said it was the tensioner. I asked isn't that what was changed the first day I brought it? He said yes. By that time it was already 2pm so I said I would bring the car back Saturday so they can correct their mistake. I dropped my car off on Friday after work so they had the car all day Saturday. I checked in by 3pm since I hadn't heard back only to find out they said it's the power steering pump that just got there so they would need to keep it Sunday to get it put on. When I got it back, the noise was still there. They had my car a total of 5 days and could not figure out the noise. I called corporate they said the area director would call me. When he called he asked if I wanted to go to another location to get it looked at. I said fine. He asked me to give him til the next day because it was 4:40pm already and he had to call around to find out where I could go. He didn't call me. I took my car to a different place to find out that Pep boys broke the bolt that was supposed to hold the tensioner in place. Don't go there, save yourself the headaches.

I had an appointment for 5pm. I sat there for an hour before they even took my car in. I had to go up to the counter and ask when they were going to be able to look at my car the woman couldn’t help me because she had “other things” to do. I was extremely annoyed at the lack of communication. If you can’t look at my car right away that’s fine but communicate that with the customer.

I was overcharged for services. I was charged for a crank sensor and it was a battery replacement. Definitely at $300 difference.My car still had the same issue two days ago had to take my car back only to be told the technician had a family emergency and we are unclear of his return time. He’s the only one that can perform this work. I sat and waited for hour and thirty minutes. I got up and approached the desk for an update. She’s waiting on him to call her back. Finally after speaking with the manager he said your battery needs replaced.

Fantastic job. Great Deal on New Tires. Installation went well. The people were nice. Decided to get my oil changed too and it was very reasonably priced. Plan on taking our other car there now as well. Overall definitely recommend ?

The staff members are friendly and patient. I love that I can leave my car and get a phone call when it's ready. They always go around my crazy schedule. Go can always go to the side by the service department and get free air for your tires, and they even help you.
