I was deducted 20 lbs of plastic per refrigerator. Was told because the insulation. 20 lbs of foam? What a joke. Wasn't told prior to getting paid. If that was the case I would have went to another scrap yard a block away. Complaint filed with department of weights and measures. Don't waste your time here!. .
After talking to a few people who frequent this yard & *don't* receive deductions. It's starting to sound a lot like discrimination.
Well first off, I was deducted 20lbs of "garbage" from my sheet metal I dropped off. Not a piece of garbage left my truck. And if it did, it definitely wasn't 20lbs worth. Next, where I dropped off the sheet metal, an employee twirling their umbrella around, was trying to sell me on some coilover shocks that someone else dropped off for scrap. Scavenging prohibited signs, unless you work there I guess. SMS a block away pays more & price matches. This place is a rip off
Called and politely requested if they are able to stay opened past store hours an additional 5-7 mins due to driving 45 mins to arrive and both manager and lady employee said yes and that it’s fine , I asked if they are sure and even stated that it’s perfectly fine if they can’t but needed a firm answer because I’m transferring a whole jeep charokee metal shell cut down filling a 20’ uhual box truck (which I’m now required to pay well over $140+ for the miles driven there and back) very unsatisfied and upset once arrived (3 mins after store closing hours) only to find out it’s closed, gates locked and no one in sight. Very devastated, not because of the $$ lost but disappointed at the manager and team reassuring me to come in and I was very thankful over the phone. You guys lost a customer whom I’ve been coming in for almost a year, again, not upset at the money I lost, upset at the fact I couldn’t even receive a call to update me that they will close even if they agreed to wait (only 5 more mins after closing). Upset at the fact i now have to find a new place to start going to. This isn’t the first problem I’ve had, in the past I’ve forgave them for under paying but they resolved it after “double checking” the weight and received the rest of the pay, but this is the 3rd strike. God bless and good luck to the business, hopefully losing me as a customer and relationship you learn for future clients you have. - Kam

Check in at office. The guy did a great job of loading my trailer. Was easy to balance the weight. Scale was accurate, as I checked it again at the Pilot 2.5 miles away. Took about 90 minutes to get loaded. Security lady was nice and friendly.
I come here to make a little loot when I have something in the basement that I do not want anymore. Its quick and easy here. You are in and out. It's a good scrap yard.
Great service! Brought in old electrical parts and wire, and the man at the Buy Back Barn was very helpful and sorted everything. Made almost $100. Thank you!
Absolute Crooks and con artists! They don't tell you before or have any signs posted but then if you get back more than $100 they take about 15 minutes to process and then give you a check. They claim it's the law but I've gotten so much money well over $100 and know that it's not the law it's just their stupid policy. Don't go there! Dishonest and unprofessional
