Had an excellent experience at Real Autohaus Automotive. I had a major issue with my car and Caten and the team quickly diagnosed it and communicated with me throughout the day to make sure I knew what was going on. They fixed the issue and were completely transparent and trustworthy throughout. I highly recommend them!
I don’t usually write reviews, but I feel compelled to warn others. My experience with this shop has been extremely disappointing. The quality of service is far below industry standards, and I’ve encountered much better mechanics who are transparent, professional, and respectful of both your time and money.
Unfortunately, this shop seems to rely more on upselling unnecessary services than actually fixing the core issue. What’s worse is the attitude and behavior of several staff members—it wasn’t just one bad apple. The overall environment felt unprofessional, and at times, even unethical.
It’s frustrating to feel like you’re being taken advantage of rather than supported as a paying customer. I strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere. There are plenty of reputable mechanics out there who genuinely care about doing the job right.

I brought a vehicle in for a pre-purchase inspection, and the team at Real Autohaus gave me loads of information to get from the dealership before purchasing the car. Turns out, they probably saved me thousands in future repairs— they certainly helped me clock some dishonesty on the seller’s end. The guys were so friendly, answered all of my questions, and helped me make a plan for bringing up my concerns to the dealer. I had a great experience here and am so thankful Google led me to this business in the first place!

The staff at Real Autohaus Automotive were absolutely great! Very friendly and did the necessary work my car needed. The added touch was the day I dropped off my car and got me an Uber ride to get back home.. that is something out of the ordinary and just their communication and professionalism were amazing! Shout out to Joe and Ken whom I worked with during the time my car was repaired and serviced. Their prices absolutely beat what a BMW dealer quoted me for the same work. This shop is awesome! They gained a new loyal customer for sure!!
First time here today came for an oil change. Katen was very knowledgeable and nice to talk baseball with while I waited. Reasonable in my opinion. Professional. Will go back and recommend to my sister in law looking for an honest local mechanic.

As a repeat customer, a nice to have would be an update to their CRM & website with customers able to have an online profile with maintenance history and past inspections that is searchable from their site.
Fuel Injector went bad on a trip to Chicago for work. Had colleagues with and needed to get home that night. Shop fixed my SUV in 5 hours. Totally a life saver. Very polite and helpful to our situation. Pricing seemed reasonable even for a rush job. Would recommend.
Jimmy and team were able to take my car in with short notice. Very communicative throughout the process, I recommend Real Autohaus to anybody needing repairs. Keep in mind they do close at 5 and are closed on the weekends so it may be difficult with some people’s work schedules. Thanks Team!
Had a very pleasant experience! Everyone there was so friendly and went out of their way to be sure I knew what needed to be done to my car. BTW the coffee was an added bonus!! I will definitely be going back there for future work on my car!
My husband and I (Kirk & Sharon Lichtenwalter) were so grateful for the extensive inspection of our 2000 Lincoln LS. It needs a lot of work, but I love the car & it was gifted to me. 74,000 miles and looks beautiful. Underneath tho, they found a cracked frame and halted all work to let us decide if we wanted to take it to a body shop to fix the frame before investing in all the other work needed. Joe explained everything to us and was as polite as can be. He and Ken, the manager who was just as gracious as Joe, had taken photos and logged all repair info. And then, referred us to a Body Shop on top of all of this for NO CHARGE!!! This kind of service is absolutely appreciated and much needed these days. We will definitely be returning customers to Real Autohaus Automotive, in Arlington Heights Illinois. Any hometown business that is this good to their customers deserves our business. Absolutely the worst mechanic I've even had the misfortune of visiting.
They charged me $600 for a single brake replacement (with a flyer coupon), took 55 minutes to 'diagnose' the issue, only to tell me to come back in 2-3 hours (this was a scheduled appointment and they were not busy). I do not understand the way they operate as the car was already on the lift just for them to put the tire back on and park it in the lot.
As a local resident they also spam your mailbox weekly with 'coupons' that just advertise a worse-than-average price for what you'd get anywhere in Chicago.
TLDR Very incompetent. Avoid. Other mechanics nearby will do the same twice as fast at half the cost.
Joe and Jimmy were both incredible! They went above and beyond, treated the car with great care, and I got full service in just a few hours without a prior appointment. Consistently awesome work done at Real Autohaus.

I am a new customer with an older van needing an oil change. There was an oil.leak but instead of a hard sell to spend hundreds to fix the problem they said let's see if the problem is minor.So far the leak is not a problem Thanks for your help and honesty.
I had a good experience when I brought my Audi TT in to see if they could repair a common electrical issue with this car. I provided a YouTube video to show what I believed needed to be done, Jimmy and Tristan listened and talked it over with the mechanic, Leonard, then he got it done in a few hours. It was a fair price, and the best part was I had the car back the same day!

I welcomed very nice, they also called me Uber, thank you for that I m glad for it but they told me to fixing headlight cost would be 500-600$ then they told me 900 bucks which is huge money for one headlight. Then I paid for diagnostic money which is ripped off. I fixed my car with my friend and it took 1 hour to fix. They told me not only socket, also further to socket burnt. So I just order new socket for 10 dollar then we fixed. Even different place told me 50-60 dollar for fix it. Briefly nothing was wrong as they described. The only thing was the socket which is I already know. Before you go there I highly suggest think very carefully…
