It was ok the load I dropped off was very small and we should of only been charged the minimum of $15.00 not $30.00 in my opinion.

They just change the system from a volume to weight by pound...One cubic yard of general trash $35 now it's ridiculous I have a one cubic yard of trash they charged me $88. GO TO BOISE LAND FILL $15 SAME VOLUME OR WEIGHT!!!! I will never come back to those rats.

Trash pickup knocked over my recycling can. I didn't get out and fix it. Sorry! Recycling truck driver got out of truck and righted the can and emptied it! Thank you!

Hopefully this review reaches Ally and especially her manager! She was incredibly friendly, funny and helpful when I called to add yard service to my account. It's so rare to call in for customer service and be met with such a positive person on the other end -- and so I want to send my appreciation to Ally and everyone at Republic Services! In fact, the handful of times I've had to contact someone, they are always so nice. It makes a difference! Thank you!

EDIT: after submitting a complaint and being told I would hear back when that complaint was submitted.....i never heard back and also there has been no change.....i don't care if it is high maintenance, 5 am trash pick ups that wake up my entire home while being pregnant and having a 2 and 5 year old IS NOT OKAY! I'm getting so sick and tired of it! I'm about to have a newborn and I'm going to lose my mind more if this inconsiderate guy doesn't change times. I know he can because he has picked up later in the day before. So not sure what the freaking deal is. I have contacted my apartment office many times where she has reported to them that their trucks come every day and most of those days between 5 and 7 am!! I have tried to contact them myself and am always passed around and sent to voicemail. I am so over them waking my kids up! And also disrupting peace on Saturdays! My husband's only day off! I do not understand why you can't change the route to come at a later time. Maybe around 8? Please make this change as I know there are others in the complex who feel the same!

The experience my husband and I encountered at the Meridian Transfer Station this past weekend is a great representation of the staff and how this facility is ran. We have been frequent customers for over seven years and have always had positive experiences—until now. We planned to clean out our garage and intended to make multiple trips, unloading approximately five loads of miscellaneous household items. We had no issues during the first two trips, but on our third visit, we encountered an unexpected charge. When we arrived with two couches, the attendant, Adrian, charged us for two loads, which was double the expected cost ($62.50 for the two couches). When my husband inquired about the charge, Adrian explained that it was due to the items being "above the truck bed." However, this was inconsistent with the two previous loads, which were also above the truck bed, but we were not charged extra. After returning home, I contacted Republic Services Customer Care and spoke with a courteous and professional representative, who also expressed confusion about the charges. She assured me that a formal complaint would be filed, and someone would follow up with me during regular business hours. The following Monday, I received a call from a supervisor, but rather than offering an apology, the supervisor immediately attempted to justify the charges by stating, "technically, we should have charged you triple for the couches and double for the previous loads." This response was both unprofessional and unsatisfactory. We have disposed of these same couches at this facility before, and we have never been charged double or triple. Additionally, we have consistently taken similar household items to the transfer station without incurring these excessive charges. The lack of clear communication, inconsistent reasoning behind the charges, and the dismissive attitude of the staff have led me to the conclusion that we will no longer use this facility. Moving forward, I would rather drive to Boise dump than deal with the unprofessionalism we experienced at this location.

Have car full of recycling to drop off. Went to a transfer station and everything is closed. But it says its open? No one is there, no signs at all saying where they relocated. Website does not help at all. Phone says to call back when open. Whats the schedule? Where is the drop off? Horrible service.

Horrible service. They miss pickup at least once a month. They missed 3 weeks in a row and when I called and finally got them to pick up they refused to remove the fees for when they didn't pick up saying it "doesnt matter if we miss your pickup, it charged by the month because we have expenses". They have a monopoly on a utility, so they don't care if they even do their job!

Went to drop off my Christmas tree for the "free" drop off and after telling the guy it was a Christmas tree multiple times, he still charged me $31.25. If you're going to charge for it, don't send a flier saying that it is free. I have called the number listed multiple times for the last 3 days with no answer Edit: to the repsonse. Apologizing for the frustration is one thing but making it right is another. Don't advertise free if you are going to charge

They flat out refuse to pick up anything outside of the bin, so if you have a large box for recycling, even broken down, they just leave it there. Really do the bare minimum.

Been holding out for a long time hoping for years this place would get it together. However, huge disappointment almost all of the time. Only reason I attempt to go there is how close it is to where i reside. List is too long to cover but here are just a few. Price increases almost 3 times a year over the past 3 years. Yes it used to be like $13 so who knows what it will be the next time I go(IF I even return). Website is trash, not current most of the time, loops around so you are unable to check on pricing or breakdowns(last time I checked a few months ago). Website told me that this is the time of year to bring leaves in for free as this is one of the drop sites, well I guess my leaves were "too dirty and needed to be clean leaves" whatever the hell that means and I would need to pay $29 for just the leaves in my yard, not even a regular truck bed full. Wait times can exceed over a hour on a bad day and around 20 - 30 min on a regular afternoon. Want to recycle well you have better have all of your cardboard cut and perfectly flat or else... I would really recommend spending the extra time and gas to go just about anywhere else as I usually do to save the headache. The layout of the place is ridiculous, they changed the "flow" and apparently they did not think it through. I am sorry I am not covering it all and you might end up experiencing some of the many other defects of this place and good luck with some of the customer service as I have personally witnessed many people pretty upset with the price and how they "calculate" how much you need to fork over. We have the weekly yard waste can that is supposed to be picked up every week on our normal trash pick up day. It was not picked up last week. We waited all weekend thinking they were delayed a bit. On Monday we called and they said there was no delay in our service and a truck would be out within 24 hours. On Wednesday, still no pickup so we called again. This time it was said to be put in as priority to be picked up that day and there was a truck in our area, but they never came. Now, we are back to our normal service date and still nothing as of 5pm. We are now 2 weeks behind on service. Very disappointed in this poor level of service.

Over the last 6 months, I have had to spend too much time on the phone because of "missed" pickups. After calling, setting up a new date, even then it isn't picked. I even called when they said to be open..."call back when we are open". This shouldn't be necessary.

To Republic Services in Meridian I am not sure what happened. I have lived in Meridian for 8+ years and love the city! Unfortunately, in the last year or so the service has gone from exceptional to really poor. I apologize to all the hard workers, I know there is a lot of you. Our household has had 3 separate issues in this last year. I hope Meridian considers switching companies like Eagle did who changed to Hardin to look out for their residents, if Republic is going to continue down this path. The first is my wife was driving on the freeway when a Republic Equipment Truck (not trash truck) had a piece of equipment flew off from the truck and slammed into her windshield, it never touched the ground and bounced up or anything like that. It went straight from the truck to her windshield. It scared her half to death and she literally had to stop driving to calm down. Thank goodness the only thing that happened was that the windshield had to replaced! We called multiple people and even made it to the regional director (Scott something) all for him to say there was nothing he could do. He did say though that if we had a dashcam and recorded the incident they would make it right but without video proof they couldn't do anything about it. After that, we decided to purchase dash cams for both of our vehicles. Second incident is they offer an extra trash pickup for a fee which is great! Well we scheduled this and on the scheduled day no one ever showed up. We reached out to Republic and they assured us it was a mistake and someone would come the next day, which is reasonable, mistakes happen. Well no one shows up that day either. Now our normal trash day was scheduled so we ended having to just cancel and no one ever reached out to say what went wrong. Third incident, which still has not been resolved, we are trying to rent a dumpster which once again is awesome they offer that service! We called and scheduled for a dumpster to arrive and they put us down for a Wednesday which was about a week out. They said they would email us a form that also needs to be filled out. We called on Wednesday to confirm the drop-off and they said they had no record of it. Ok, well we got transferred to someone else who then said they were booked out but he could get us one by Friday. Perfect, well on Thursday they called saying since we never filled out the emailed form that they rented our dumpster to someone else. We looked through our email, including spam, and there was no sign of the email. We asked if they could provide verification that it had been emailed to which they said they could not. So now over a week later and much back and forth I am still trying to get a dumpster rented. I seriously hope something improves. Normally in these scenarios I will just find a new company but I am at the mercy of the city. Once again I apologize to all the hard workers of the company especially all the garbage employees who come weekly, they have been nothing but outstanding.

I would like to publicly recognize Republic driver Perry B for the professional manner in which he handled a potentially disastrous situation yesterday. In Meridian, while picking up refuse from an apartment complex across the road from our place of business, something exploded and caught on fire in his garbage truck. He saw our large lot and drove across Overland road with his truck on fire and sounded his horn to warn us. He selected a spot to dump his burning refuse and was able to get it offloaded into a gravel section of our parking lot. Our gravel lot is surrounded by areas of brush and overgrowth and his quick thinking made it so the large fire was contained to the gravel area only. Come to find out, Republic’s trucks run on natural gas and the tank is on the roof of the truck. Perry was able to contain the load and fire, while saving the truck, which could have been disastrous if he had followed the direction of the 911 operator, who told him to abandon his truck at the apartment complex while his natural gas powered truck was on fire. I firmly believe that Perry’s quick thinking avoided a potential disaster. Also, a big thank you to Republic for renting front end loaders and clearing our lot of the burnt debris. Perry saved lives yesterday by not abandoning his burning truck in a residential area. Republic Services of Meridian, please recognize Perry for his actions yesterday.

Service is good and they are always friendly when you call them, BUT getting what you need is going to depend on who you talk to over the phone. I remember calling them in the past to request an additional trash bin for one of my properties. The bin was overflowing well after week. It was a simple problem with a simple solution. So I called to request a second bin and was basically told no…in a friendly and polite manner. So afterwards I noticed that some of the neighbors had dual bins and a few days later I decided to call again. That time I got someone else on the phone who said “no problem…” and that was taken care of. A few years later at one of my other properties I developed the same problem. Too much trash. So I called once again and I again was told that they couldn’t do that because of this and that reason. So again I waited a few days and called. Again…I spoke with somebody else and quickly, I was able to get a second bin.

Had to do a large cleanout this weekend with the very very firm deadline of Sunday....Dumpster wasnt delivered until amost the end of the day, and when we went to see where they had dropped it, it wasnt anywhere NEAR the VERY SPECIFIC instructions we gave them to drop it. 75 freaking yards and on the wrong side of the property. We should not have to pay full price when youve made MY job 5x harder and were doing it by HAND without equipment

Have a truck full of trimmings and arrived a minute too late to dump. Gate person stated he had closed his til and wouldn’t let us in. Other employee directed us to proper location as the gate had changed its location since we used your services last. We had just received a call to drive to Snowville to get a family member that just totaled their truck and needed a ride. Seriously no accommodations whatsoever? Not a happy customer.

It was $17 for me to unload my short truck bed full of carpet and plastic toys. I didn't have to wait long and everything was well organized. I'm glad they kept the ground clean. I didn't feel like I would pop a tire because of a nail or sharp object. Very satisfied!

My fiance, her father and I use this place often. We use it for dumping construction materials, yard waste and appliances. This place is expensive. They are a TRANSFER station, so all materials are handled here then transferred to the dump I am assuming. Which would explain the cost. The best thing about this place is convenience...except on Monday. They tend to be busy as hell, so expect to wait. We do recycle a lot of appliances and metal here, along with cardboard. No waiting in line for that! Unless is Monday and you are out in the street waiting. I would reccomend going to the canyon county dump. It out there! You can dump a trailer full at the transfer station for about 45-75 dollars for convenience or about 12 bucks at canyon county. Non residents do pay a little more i believe. Glad they are there but..DAMN get your piggy bank out!

Have been here plenty of times. Easier to just make a trip and drop off a load here locally than having to take it out to the landfill etc. recycle cardboard, glass, metal, etc

So I found out that you can't just "throw away" old televisions. I put my old 27-inch ridiculously heavy in the back of my hatch-back and took it over to the Hazardous household materials area there at the transfer station (only available on Mondays from noon to 7pm) and I didn't even have to get out of my car. The guy opened the back of the car and carried the TV away. It was great! So nice to dispose of that thing responsibly.

They come to my apartments on different days but always around 6-7 in the morning! Isn't there a better way to route your trucks so you don't wake up entire communities? You can't tell me there isn't stores and businesses that are closed that can be taken care of before you wake everybody up! Do better

I had forgotten to take my recycling bin out last night and I woke up to the sound of their truck driving by. I quickly ran my recycling bin outside assuming it was too late, but they saw me and stopped to take it for me anyways! They're the best! Also, we have taken cardboard boxes and landscaping debris to the site multiple times and they are always very helpful.

It's amazing to me that so many people are quick to leave a bad review when they have one experience that doesn't please them. Personally I have been using Republic Services and the transfer station for 20 years and am grateful I don't need to drive all the way from Meridian to the dump off hill road. Their prices are fair, especially if you are bringing in wood or other recyclables. And leaves are free for several weeks during the fall season. All their people, including truck drivers, have always been helpful and friendly. There's no such thing as a business that does everything so perfectly that no one complains. But from my perspective, these folks are doing a difficult job extremely well and I'm thankful to have them.
