I had a fantastic experience at CarMax, Meridian. When I saw a car I was interested in on their website, I drove down and was pleasantly surprised to be able to walk the lot and examine the unlocked car, both inside and out, undisturbed by any salesmen. I was able to reserve the car for a test drive online, giving me a couple days to prepare for a purchase without the anxiety of someone else buying the car before me. I started a car search here as my family as purchased from Car Max in another state and had a positive experience. I worked with Madison and she is outstanding and competent. Additionally, Madison was calm and persistent when my insurance company messed up with coverage documents. I highly recommend Car Max and Madison! Also, you can transfer a car from Utah with no or low charge from another Car Max and other states for a reasonable amount depending on the distance.

My wife bought a car here recently. After day 7 the car begun to sputter. We made an appointment to see service and they put us out at two weeks. We still drove the vehicle. On day 12, the vehicle totally died. I had to pay to have it towed home. Then the dealer said they wouldn't help with the towing cost and I had to tow it to them also. Then they became very rude and cancelled our service appointment and denied admission to their managers. A manager finally called back and tried to say it was our fault. Totally unprofessional. Buy somewhere else.

Very poor quality control standards. I had a vehicle transferred from Reno which took 12 days. When the car arrived, I was excited to take it for a test drive. I arrived early and reception invited me to go look at the car. Upon inspection, there was what appeared to be a oily substance that had dripped all along the rear bumper. Being an optimist, I attempted to rub an area and the paint had been damaged by the oily substance. It is shocking to me that before a car is presented to a prospective buyer, it's not cleaned and washed. If it had, they would have found the issue on the back bumper. To their credit, they did issue me a refund of my transfer fee. However, I will never look at CarMax again for a car. Very, very disappointed.

125 Point inspection? What a joke. They tried to sell me a vehicle that was absolutely a Frankenstein. Put together with pieces from a junk yard. They "refunded" my money and I have still not received a check, going on a month now. Is this the type of business we want in Boise. Nope, move along CarMax and take your 125 point inspection with you.

When I need to buy another car I will go right to Carmel and avoid wasting time checking all over town and the internet. I have great confidence that I will have a bigger selection of quality cars to search through. Most importantly, I will be confident that the car I get has been thoroughly examined and will be in the condition that I want. In addition to that I have the security net of the 90 day warranty from Carmax and the very reasonable long-term warranty. I was able to purchase from Carmax. In any significant event and buying a car is certainly a significant event, there is the possibility that mistakes or misunderstandings can occur. We had a couple such events in this purchase. The way Carmax handled those events left me completely satisfied as to how they stand behind what they promised to do.

I took the 2021 Subaru Forester Premium for a test drive after I paid to have it brought down from Oregon. and had it checked out . All ok. After I returned it the person that was helping me was busy with another client., So Bianca went with me to the car and checked the inside and the spare tire compartment . It still needed a few things taken care of so Bianca said she will do a check list of all the things needed done. So I bought it. She went to the service Dept. and gave me the date to bring it back. I took it back to get it checked out and they had to order some parts . Now I had to bring it back. I feel like this should have already been taken care of before I was notified for the test drive. This was a lease car one owner . It did look like it had new tires. A big plus. All the things did get fixed. another plus. They did show me how to do a few things that I was confused on. I'm enjoying my new car. if I didn't have to keep bringing the car back for repairs, the rating would have been a 5.

They really are nice people and they can be trusted as people, but don’t trust their cars. I’m telling you right now, no matter how many positive reviews you see, there shouldn’t be this many negative. My car I was looking at for weeks, got a check engine light at 18,000 miles right before I could test drive it. They buy shady cars on the cheap, and sell them as “great” cars.

Not impressed. I was really excited with the concept of shopping for a vehicle online then going into the dealership to test drive and purchase. However, my mom was interested in an SUV at Carmax and we unfortunately had a terrible experience. First off, we were made to wait almost 25 minutes after our scheduled appointment without anyone following up with us. We were sitting in the waiting area and could see the manager goofing off with other employees but never told how much longer we would be waiting. Once we were helped, we were disappointed to discover that the vehicle was filthy and reeked of cigarette smoke. When we mentioned that it smelled of cigarettes, the sales rep said "It must have been the previous owner." Which was odd... we didn't think it was one of them. But after her getting defensive it made us wonder if they had been smoking in it... The sales rep also wouldn't stop talking long enough for us to speak to one another for the entire test drive. If we already reviewed the vehicle online, why would she read off all the specs from the website instead of allowing us to enjoy our test drive? The air conditioning didn't work and she was oddly defensive about it. I finally had to ask her to please stop talking and made a mouth zipping gesture with my hand because my mom and I literally could not get a word in edgewise - to her or each other! After the test drive, she had the audacity to ask my mom if she was going to buy the car and purchase a warranty to fix the broken air conditioning. My mom, obviously, declined and we will not be going back to Carmax.

Non Commissioned Sales People make the entire process super easy. Found six cars on line, narrowed it down to two. made an appointment and once there, was greeted by my assigned sales person. I had decided by the time I was there on one of the two cars. I took my test drive and paid my deposit to hold it. Came home called my Credit Union, for validation as i had been pre approved, picked up the check the next morning and took it to them to pick up the car. Different Sales person but still easy to deal with and processed with no problem

Sold them a car. Everything worked as expected. That means they pay below trade-in value. Basically they are purchasing low enough to later sell the car at auction and still clear a profit. But I don't have to hassle with selling the car myself. We did the online offer and they paid us their full offer amount.

I was basically sold a bunch of issues with my car. I would not recommend buying from them. The car was fine the first month and a half and then started to literally die while I was driving on the interstate. Warranty covered some of the issues the first time around then the second time not so much. I sent in and spoke with people about an appeal and what they can do to help with zero response back.

We were in there for about an hour, and the young feller took her truck for a drive and he looked over our truck and took pictures of it and got the information of it very polite very accurate. Very nice young man and he sent it in and then they did their estimate on it and we came out with a very pleasant amount. The truck was an awesome good shape it was like brand new only had 31,000 miles on it And they were very polite. Very nice very helpful and they got it done within about an hour hour and a half tops. I would like to thank them for the time that they spent with us and helping us out it was painless and accurate and thank you very much.
