Guy who has been operating the big green excavator with the claw needs an attitude adjustment. Yelling at people and cussing at customers good way to lose business. I was told to throw a couple small things over the rope into the pile by another employee. And he flew off his handle and said I couldn’t throw metal off there. I been coming here for years never had a problem honestly he hasn’t been there long I don’t believe.
This scrapyard was very dishonest dealing with me for many years. Now there are many other people reporting the same kinda experience here. Alsobrook's doesn't always pay you for the amount of metal you bring across the scale. The large scale for cars, and the smaller scales for small loads like car batteries, copper, aluminum, etc. they're all accurate. This means they'll short you on purpose. Where I come from we call that stealing. It's a bad way to run a business, and it's theft plain and simple. I quit going here several years ago.
Dont go here they are rip offs . we took some copper there and we had weighed it before we left it was 30lbs got there they said it weighed 15. Took the same amount of copper to a diff scrap yard and got twice as much money then we got here.
Husband said he won't go here again. Recently he brought a range hood that had a small motor and he didn't know that. It only took 2 screws to disassemble it. The employee FREAKED out and said absolutely no way and made him leave with the item. What?? We rarely come here but it's always been great experiences before. Sad for them to lose our business and our friends but we'll now go elsewhere.
So I wanted my truck scrapped, i called up, lady that answered told me that it would be 12 cents per pound, low and behold when we got there the lady then said 9 cents per pound, I was lied to. Because that would have added 100 extra dollars to the check if it was so. I don’t like being lied to and you people will never get my business again. And do us all a favor and pave over the pathway because vehicles can get stuck in the mud if you ride through there.
If you dont own a truck you wont maje it through.This place is to muddy. Pretty simple to put gravel. I can't believe the government allows them to run the business like this. Won't be coming back. I like to keep my vehicles clean. The forklift driver said he always gets stuck in the mud. We let the front office lady know and she didn't care. She didn't want to talk about it.
Super muddy (went on a rainy day) but what do you expect. Was quick and fairly easy to figure out where to go and everything. In and out within 20 minutes. This is usually where we go when we need to recycle so can't complain.
I called before I traveled the hour to bring what I needed to scrap from my business. I moved to Rome in February and have always came here. Not be best place but easy. I was told they wanted to close at 2-3pm. I get there at 12:30. Closed. I will never returned.
Absolutely love this place and their helpers! Friendly people that stay on top of their jobs but also remember customers well. Been going here for years and will continue!
They seemed pretty nice. Just don't think they are honest. Advertised 5 cents lb for scrap gave me 4 cents. Included an air conditioner in scrap. Not what I read online. Leary of these people.
Ilike these guys a lot rates may be slightly lower than local yards but they are quick and will set you right. Been there more than 10 times always happy with the service.
Good guys would recommend.

Alsobrooks does NOT have a Website (that was a 3rd party insert, we have tried to cancel out several times), please call for current pricing. Recycling pricing is a floating market, where pricing changes often.
Alsobrooks takes all kinds of 'metals' for recycling, no paper, glass, tv's, wood or tires. Alsobrooks does not sell, recycled items to the public.
Alsobrooks scales are State Certified for accuracy. Smaller scales up ft. for Non Ferrous and smaller items, then a large capacity scale in the back for Ferrous and larger items. (We can assist with larger loads, our equipment, after signing an unloading waiver)
Alsobrooks does take pride in helping our customers with their questions and concerns about scraping your items, i.e. letting you the customer know how 'you' can separate your material to get yourself the better pricing at that time. Customers are responsible for separating their own material.
Alsobrooks does and will follow all State Recycling Regulations.. i.e. you must have a valid State issued ID, Business License and/or HVAC License on certain items when required.

This is my favorite scrapyard to go to since the scrapyard beside the dollar genral and old hospital in downtown dallas closed down their yard! Which has been quite a while ago now! This is definitely my place of choice recycling scrap metals
Been here about 4 times now and everytime I drop stuff off the men at work around the scales are rude and ready to snap on you. The people who pay you behind the window. They have been nice 100% of the time. Probably the last time I'm going here
Fair prices, most guys are great help.. They could fix that crappy parking lot a little......Messy for sure on wet or dry days. Been coming here for years!
Expect at least one or two employees to be very rude and down rite ugly towards their customers, then laugh and make fun of them when they leave. But other than that everyone & everything is great. Plus don't believe that they close at 5:00pm, they close when ever they wanna close
Yesterday was my first time experience and it went very well. I was told by friends I would have to unload my own metal at these different scrapyards. I went to Alsobrook cause it was close to the house and I just wanted to get rid of the stuff to my surprise I was created by two very nice workers sorry I didn't get their names but they not only helped me unload but told me how to get a higher rate because of the heavy weight metal then they unloaded that with the metal!!! To say the least I came home looking for more stuff to get rid of because the experience went so well and easy breezy I will be back.
I've only been here once, but it was an overall good experience. The employees were helpful and friendly. Their lot was very clean for such a nasty, rainy day.
Great place, I see some others complain about service, the workers here are not mean or have a bad demeanor. You went to a scrap yard, not a restaurant. They are helpful and if you ask will likely tell you about what you've got and things that pay more (how to break down something for more better value).
The lot out front floods sometime and could use work to improve drainage, otherwise the place is perfectly fine.
Over-all I think this place is great for service, scales are always accurate, and they Never low-ball...
I sell all of our scrap metals and air conditioning coils at Alsobrook's every time. Dwayne and his crew are excellent and always have very competitive pricing. All of the staff are friendly and it's nice to see familiar faces every trip. We weigh everything before bringing it to the yard and their scales are always spot on. Could not ask for a better experience and a more honest recycling center. Thanks guys, see y'all soon.
Had the worst experience today trying to buy some things from here.
Guy who I have never dealt with wouldn't give me a per pound price for part that I wanted. First time I had ever hear of this "It is what I say it is" pricing policy. I like being able to save a few bucks on stuff that is basically trash, but this place wanted to charge a premium just because I keep coming back.
Don't expect friendly service, and don't expect consistency.
