One of the cleanest scrap yards I've been to lately. I was unloaded and they educated me on how to distinguish my metals. I really like my maget!

These guys deal with the public all day; but are still kind and pleasant. A real joy!!

Well-paved grounds and relatively clean facility, friendly attendants. I went to recycle an old washing machine for $14. Took about twenty minutes, no line around 11am on a Monday.

Great place to sell your junk cars/scrap! Employees are always friendly and great costumer service. Edit new management don't bring anything here

Wasn't sure what to do or where to go at first but employees pointed me in all the right directions

SN a recycling always does a great job taking care of their customers. They also have a good staff for direction. And the lady in the payment office is always very nice, smiling and asks how you’re doing. And after a long day of work, it’s nice to see someone so kind.

Rebecca is amazing. Quick and efficient with her services. I love doing business with her

No complaints, good direction, good service especially the lady who checks out, paid me in cash and a Tootsie Pop. ???? I wouldn’t expect cash all the time tho.

I've dropped off different types of material here and always encounter helpful and friendly people. Specifically, Barbara, Armando, Emilio and Rebecca have been very helpful answering numerous questions and directing me where to go. I've witnessed new people coming for the first time that did not know what to do and all of these folks were very supportive. It is also a plus that Armando and Emilio speak Spanish and can help in that capacity. Their prices are competitive and I appreciate their acceptance of the different material, keeping it out of the landfill.

This place is horrible to do business with them they gave me a call for $6009 me selling a complete car meaning that the car has an engine that transmission on the wheels I did provide them what they told me and they say that they needed to pay it only as body because the engine was detached they're going to scrap it why they will need it to be attached From 609 quote to 271 Never happened to me something like this

It's rare that I give a 5star review any where but, this place is as close to being deserving of it as any place I've seen. I always appreciate folks being courteous and efficient.

I can't go into the details but let me just say the ladies that work in this place are some of the best people I have ever dealt with in my whole life God bless them they are awesome I highly recommend using this place if u have scrap to get rid of

Everything about the experience inside with seamless and they seemed to get the process done quickly however I called ahead for the scrap copper prices and they informed me on the phone that it was three dollars a pound and $4.20 a pound for bear Copper. When they checked me out, it ended up being $2.56 a pound and, $$4.14 for copper.

They are outright rude and racist to the customers that come especially the tall hispanic lady at the main scale house. They gave me 2 different prices between the small scale and the big scale. The small scale gave me $8 per 100 lbs and the racist at the big scale gave me $7 per 100 lbs. When confronted about the pricing, they just shrug it off and walk away. This place only caters to the hispanic crowd and their only spanish speaking staff shows it.

The tall lady who seems like the boss is very rude and unfriendly. They also close early very often and don’t adhere to their business hours. This yard is poorly managed!!!! SA recycling in norcross is much more efficient and welcoming so I know it’s definitely the lawrenceville management that is running the location into the ground.

I never do reviews, honestly, I don't see much of a point.....who cares about my negative reviews, you know? In the grand scheme of the world, what does it matter? Usually, the owners of companies will just respond to the review to appease the public eyes viewing the negative stars. Nothing is ever done about it from a physical aspect, so what's the point, nothing is ever truly solved? My issue was the rudeness and disorganization I experienced today. More so, the rudeness, of the guy weighing the exiting vehicles today. The lady weighing vehicles upon entering is always very polite and nice, and so is the lady printing the checks. Nothing bad to say about them, only they are courteous and professional. However, the guy weighing the exiting vehicle's treats people like they are scrappers and they come there every day and they should know the process. If they don't, then he proceeds to yell at them, and treats them disrespectfully. In my case, the green light and sound was so quick and goes directly back to red you don't see it. So it can be confusing when to get on and off the scale. If this happens, why be rude, mad and yell at customers? He even started slamming the door really loudly in my face due to frustration. I don't know if he was just having a bad or what, but I drove away extremely irritated and mad due to the disorganization and rudeness of that specific employee. My opinion on the matter, is just be respectful and nice to customers. I understand it can be a hard job, but customer service and respectfulness is lacking with that employee. I hope it's not a reflection of the company as a whole. All other employees on-site were great. As a small business owner, I'm serious considering never going back. I'll have to sleep on it.

The hours of operation are inaccurate. Was pretty much told that the closing time on Google is when the employees “wrap it up”so expect the gate to be closed 15 min early. (Other reviews mention up to 30 min early) Not professional at all and when I told them nicely to consider updating their hours was met with this response “why would you come so late??” Very narrow minded and one sided way of thinking. Not to mention inconsiderate of people driving all the way out to scrap their metal assuming that this business actually adheres to their hours. The lady over the phone seemed to encourage a review where I can make people aware of the true hours, so here it is along with a 1 star.

Used to be a reliable scrap yard. Changes in the last year have made the place seem less trustworthy. Something that used to be a little thing (till they changed the hours)... is that the scrap yard closes 30 minutes earlier than listed. They backed the closing time from 4:30/12pm. to 4pm/11:30am., and they're still closing 30 minutes early! I entered a suggested edit on Google to mark their current hours 8am-3:30 (Monday-Friday) 8am-11am (Saturday) Keep in mind when pricing copper here... #1 is now bright copper without any joints only. Any discoloration on clean pipe registers as #2 per the scale master. (A little deceitful, because most scrap yards have a #1 bright copper and a #1 copper category).

Plan for at least 1.5 hrs here - staff was helpful but ask lots of questions if it is your first time. They gather aluminum, steel, copper etc.

Brian that works in the scape yard gives excellent service & help. Very knowledgeable and smart guy. Also every single person in the office is nice as well. Honestly one of the best recycling yards in Georgia.

We came with a lawnmower during a busy time near end of day. Other than the wait, they gave us reasonable amount and they seemed to have a decent operation moving. Definitely Don't bring a nice car if you don't want it dirty!

I'm always concerned when I see a business have a one person doing the job of three. When I go to Doraville location there's always two to three people at the scale getting you in and out. Praises to the woman that works the scale, she seems super stressed with having to do all the work at times but always seems to put a smile on her face. This yard pays less and wait time is much longer because they're understaffed.

I go there daily and I've never had a problem with any of the staff. The girl that checks you in on the steel side is always friendly and on point. I think they should have someone helping her over there cause she's always running around non stop! Taking care of everything she can! Thanks

There is another review on here , in my name sorry it is not accurate. It was done by my crazy ex whom didn't like anyone that showed any type of kindness to me. This center is awesome I have used it for over 9 years. The lady at the scales Heather is far from his review . she has always been a big help and sweet as can be. Heather knows her job and does it well , this is why my ex mafe the comment he was one to try to get by without rules. Heather is great tho , if you dont know her by name sge is the blond at the scales The guys are great too in the special metal area.

Newell is the best within 30 miles. Certainly the best prices for metal. I’ve been to every other scrap yard in The Greater Atlanta area, and I always find myself back at Newell, when they are open. That is my only gripe... the hours... They are only open till 4 pm, and only till 11:45 am on Saturday. That makes it hard for me to get up there before they close, unless I go during my own work hours. The only other scrap yard that is open in Saturday’s in my area is awful. Every time I I have to take my scrap on a Saturday, I loose out, and ask myself, why did I not wait and go to Newell? So I wish Newell was open later in the day. The people there are very nice and helpful. I am a regular because of them.

I had earlier posted a review about a situation I had one day there that was unfair to Heather, the person who works the scales. I have been going to that location for years and never had any issues and believe me when I say I understand things happen during the workday and things can get hectic in the heat of the battle during a day of work. I wanted to say I do not have anything against Heather and we talked about the situation. I will continue to go there and I look forward to seeing her again. They are a good place to do business with.

I have been going here for several years, even though it's a 45 minute drive from my house because both the staff and the prices are great. The woman running the scale is always professional, prompt, polite, and informed. The guy running the special metals scale and the cashier are the same. I always leave pleased with my visit.

I usually come here once or twice a month to dump my scrap metal from work, I've always had a great experience there and have gotten in and out of there fairly quick depending on how busy it is that day. The scale girl has been nothing but super nice every time to me and very helpful on giving me instructions on where to dump my scrap metal depending on what is was at the time. By far the best prices around for metal! Definitely recommend this place if you are looking for good prices and friendly service.

I had no expectations going in. My washing machine broke, so I replaced it. I could put the old one up at the road, but the city would charge me $50 to $75 to take it away. So I took it to Newell. They weighed my pickup truck going in. Instructed me where to unload it. And then weighed me going out. Net of 100 lbs. of scrap got me a check for $5.00. I got caught behind two 18-wheelers, so the whole process took almost an hour. They take your drivers license upfront, and then take your picture at the cashier. I'm sure all state requirements, due to scrap metal crime. Maybe not the smoothest operation, but I feel good about recycling, and really good that I saved myself some money. Definitely worth it.
