Went to sign in to unload and all I was told was to write in and out weights on paper then he walked away to talk to another person. Came back over to ask what else I needed, told him a door. I docked and went back in after sitting for 30 mins (I was the only driver there) and waited for another 20 inside while they all were
in break room. Finally they came out and another guy comes to me and explains what to do with paperwork. He seemed cranky. Waiting 15 more mins and they finally stated. Took about 45 mins to unload.
If I could leave a 0 star review I would. Absolutely pitiful company. Had several large loads of tires I had contacted them about, asking when I could bring them because I had to have everything lined up to haul them there (I’m talking each load I’d had to of payed them $1000+ because of the weight of each load, so not just me trying to dump a few tires) everytime I called and asked when I could schedule to bring they’d say call tomorrow call tomorrow call tomorrow, every person I talked with on the phone was extremely unprofessional and rude. So as of this week call and on Wednesday ask if we could bring Friday, they said call Thursday. Call Thursday and ask if we can bring Friday and they say that should work. So schedule a way of hauling them with a company, which wasn’t free. Haul equipment over, spend 3 hours loading load 1 of the 2 loads we were taking, the truck gets there with the load of tires and they say the tires are too dirty and say each tire needs to be washed even though we are paying them $250 per ton of tires we take there. The employees there were extremely rude and disrespectful to our guy hauling the tires there. Not to mention we hauled several thousand dollars worth of tires to them last year and they were extremely rude then, but they actually took them that time and the tires on this load looked the exact same as those. I wouldn’t recommend Liberty Tire to anyone. Terrible company
As previously stated pull onto the scales, exit your truck to use intercom you have to hold the button to talk. The older lady was a bit grumpy but hey maybe she us a nice person outside of work but the loading is fast and trouble free. If you are going load here get here by 4pm EST or you will be turned around. If you load like I did after 3pm go ahead and take that 10 unless you are going north. You will never get through ATL this time if day.
When you arrive pull up on the scale. Then get out and press the button on the speaker. You will have to press the button everytime you speak.
They will get your weight. Once that's done (if your delivering a load) you drive around back and park the trailer on the other side of the pond. Personally I felt it was really tight and wasn't sure I could get it into the right spot. Found a safe place to put the trailer. Talked too the yard dog he said that it was not a problem. A lot of people do that because it is really tight.
Once you drop the empties are on the other side of the yard. Hook pull back onto the scale. Get weighed and then go in and get your paperwork.
On a fun note, I use to drive for Burlington Motor Carriers back in the early 90s. They had one of their trailers parked back there foe storage I guess. Considering BMC doesn't exist anymore 8P
Most of the backhauls I do are a pain in the glutes but this recycling centers shipping and receiving was smooth! They didn't b.s. when it came to loading/unloading!!
Pays good and good folks to work with but it is extremely nasty but worst of all is the metal wires that stick in your shoes and clothing and then end up in your carpet at home then you step on it in your bare feet or it's still stuck In Clothes even after being laundered and put it on clean just to be poked by sharp metal wires. It is not fun at all. Work comes home even though I change shoes before going in or out of plant. There must be something that can be done
You can park on the street, recieving opens at 8,if you get there earlier go on the scale and write down your weight than park and wait until 8 to check in.
I was impressed by their focus on safety. It's a busy place with lots of activity and lots of machines running all the time. You could tell by the workers actions and precautions around the plant that safety came first. Brovo!!!
