We were charged $5,550 by Sea Tow Fort Myers for a basic pump-out and a short tow (less than a mile) near Matlacha Bridge. The boat had taken on water due to a failed aerator pipe and bilge pump. I grounded it myself to prevent sinking, used the emergency shutoff, and waited for help.
My 75-year-old father called for assistance and was told the charge would be $200 per foot. He mistakenly said the boat was 21 feet—it’s actually 20. What we didn’t expect was an additional $450/hour fee for “nighttime on-water assistance,” which we were not clearly told about and which added $1,350 to the bill.
We had a 9-year-old child on board and were in an active lightning storm. We were calm and had stabilized the boat. The service involved no wreck, no environmental risk, and no danger to the crew. Despite trying to resolve the misunderstanding respectfully afterward, Sea Tow refused any adjustment.
We’re sharing this so others know to ask for every fee up front and in writing, even in an emergency. The crew was polite, but the lack of pricing transparency was deeply disappointing.
I had seatow for many years and fortunately never had to use them. Good to have for peace of mind. Finally got out of boating when i just recently sold my boat.

As always Sea Tow response time was 20 minutes. On this day I felt lucky to be towed in as a sea fog moved into San Carlos bay and it was very thick and hard to see. I knew I was in good hands.

I spun a prop on SanCarlos bay and called SeaTow. Captain Quincy was quick to respond and towed me back to the boat ramp where I put in at. Just signed some paperwork and was on my way to get a new prop.
Sea Tow Fort Myers was amazing. After a grounding this morning at coming West at 7:45AM, Captain Izzy showed up promptly after the call. The 47 foot Grand Banks grounded at the low point of low tide and was listing hard to port, cause for concern to capsizing. Captain Izzy showed up in the morning and got the boat straight so we were not listing anymore, and left us his personal cell to reach him. Once high tide came, he came back to pull us out, and that he did. He was very professional, and seems to actually care for the people he deals with. His check-ins ensured that about him. My wife and I accidentally beached our boat and Captain Israel was really efficient at everything. He pulled us out in about 10 minutes. I will also say that he was very nice and professional with everything. Made a not-so-good situation into a pleasant one under the circumstances. Thank you Captain Israel!
Called to have our tritoon pulled off a sandbar we were stuck on when the tide became low. They wouldn’t tow us, said they don’t tow pontoons or tritoons off a sandbar. We were stuck till 10:30 pm and had to drive 25 miles home in the dark. Cancelled our service. If you have a pontoon or tritoon, keep that in mind! Good thing the weather was good
Staff and owners very unprofessional and rude upon request of assistance for a charter boat used for hurricane relief efforts, definitely not going above and beyond here! Tow boat U.S is where I would spend my money!

I run six rental boats in the Cape Coral / Ft Myers area and have been dealing with Sea Tow here for almost 5 years. Whether it was a jump start, tow or salvage this business has always performed in a timely manner with excellent service. Our customers hate to get towed. This doesnt happen often with our boats but when it has Sea Tow has been on scene quickly and handled our clients and boats professionally and curtiously.
I have always receive outstanding service from Seatow every time I have needed them. They respond very quickly and I highly recommend them. NEVER leave your dock without them on speed dial.
Last Friday I had a trip with Captain Rick to Matlacha sound where the night before it was left behind by renters and he towed back to it's place. Rick is not only a real nice person, he is a top professional as well, I am a boater with 50+ years experience and watching him was a pleasure as everything he does is just the way it should be done. Our boat experienced engine problems and we had to call our insurance company who in turn called Sea Tow. Within 1 minute of hanging up the phone I had a text from Captain Rick stating he was on his way. Less than 2 minutes after that Captain Craig sent a text that he was on his way because he was closer. Captain Craig followed up the text with a phone call and told me he would be to our location in 20 minutes. He was prompt, friendly and professional. He helped up attach the tow rope Nd was honest to tell us that the closest marina did not have a mechanic. He towed us home and actually pulled the boat into the hoist. We were very impressed with Captain Craig and Sea Tow and if we are ever unfortunate enough to need a tow we would not hesitate to call.
These guys are great. Captain Evan was responsive and took great care of us. Scheduled the tow, was prompt, knowledgeable and got us sorted with zero fuss. The SeaTow membership saved us hundreds of dollars! Literally paid for itself for the next 3 years. Great outfit to work with!
My boat engine of a 24 ' deck boat did not start in the lock nearby my dock. A SEATOW boat was right in front of the lock and offered me help to pull the boat out of the lock. I wanted to hand him my rope over but he insisted to use his line but could not reach my hook. After a couple of disastrous maneuvers he gave up and accepted my rope and pulled me to a dock. He told me that he charges me 300 $ per hour if he pulls me back to my dock (unfortunately I am member of another towing service ). I told him, that it will take about 45 minutes and was ready to pay about 250$ for the tow. He offered me a membership for 169 $ per year and I understood that this will be deducted from the total amount.
This is a procedure I know from other services if you join them.
To my big surprise I was charged 919 $ when we arrived my dock after a 40 minutes towing.
I am not a Sea Tow member. I found myself in a situation recently where I needed their services. As far as their actual on the water service - no issues - everything as expected. However - as expected - since I was not a member - there was a very high cost. There was some confusion in the scheduling process - and not all costs were explained clearly. I was very frustrated. After reviewing everything - the folks in the office straightened everything out. I just have to say that the Integrity and Professionalism with which they handled the situation is to be commended. I was very impressed - you don't always get this today.
About a year ago I bought a boat and for Christmas my wife got me a sea tow membership. With the water conditions and time I wasn't able to use the boat as much as I thought I would. I thought the membership was a waste of money until yesterday. We launched from Franklin lock and the alternator belt broke. The belt only runs the alternator and both batteries are charged so there was no reason to turn back. Then a couple of hours later the engine starts running hot. After a few times shutting down for the engine to cool and restarting the batteries are getting low. I called sea tow expecting a complex nightmare for service. To my surprise they show up fast and got us to the ramp with no issues. Without a membership that tow would have cost over $900 but it was included in the membership. I saved enough yesterday to pay for my membership for years.
I recently had a tow from sea tow. I checked around and they were the most expensive tow company but the girl I talked to said with my tow that I would receive a membership with my tow. So I called the next day and talked to the owner and she said that I talked to a new girl and she wasn’t going to give me a membership and I said that so your not going to stand behind what I was told and she became very aragent and mean and said that she wasn’t going to play this game. So if I have any advice call anywhere beside this place! There are much cheaper and nicer!
I’ve been a member since 2004 and I have nothing but good experiences with seatow. I’ve been grounded due to my own ignorance of not watching my gps and have never been humiliated by their captains. As a matter of fact, the captains have made me feel better for my own ignorance for straying out of the channel. They have always been prompt in helping us out. Never a charge for towing if you’re a member. A1 Company in my opinion. I wouldn’t go out on the Ocean without them having my back.
This andy barnetts girlfriend posting this my phone is dead at the moment but i know he agrees and our bestfriend james! We are all so very greatful and thats an understatement! If we didnt have the night we did i could probably think straight after breaking down out in the gulf like easily 25 miles out with the gps not working properly or phone being capable of helping and than captain Bob!!! Our new best friend lol he saved us literally even he said yea it was rough! I had never been offshore before that far and for us to breakdown and have bob take his time to find us and we had to shoot a flare gun and everything the moment i heard our sea tow radio and captain bob come on and said alright guys i found you im about 3 miles away from you was thee most emotional moment and when we finally got to land we were all and STILL ARE ABSOLUTELY GREATFUL And ABSOLUTELY ALWAYS WILL BE! And I give him an infinite amount of stars if i could. Juliette (Myself) My boyfriend Andy and our best friend James! Are all tow truck drivers so we know how it is to be in an emergency situation but out on the water you feel so helpless and i will say all day long our lives of being emergency responders were left at the mercy of captain bob and he made our life able to live again. I know how it feels to be appreciated by your customers and they truely mean it. Especially being in our day in age they're alot of ungrateful people no money in the world could explain the feeling of him going way above and beyond his job in my mind taking the risks these men take to save people so astonishing thank you! THANK YOU! IF I would of had a million dollars it would of been his. What we gave him and i wont mention specifics but it doesn't compare to our lives being saved to be able to all get back in our trucks tomorrow and save people ourselves. This gave me an experience of a lifetime. Thank you! For being the best you!
I have been a loyal SeaTow Gold Member for over 8 years I have never needed their services up-till now when I needed a 15 minute tow literally 5 blocks (1/2 mile) from a private dock to a nearby boat ramp, owner Heather tells me that I'm not covered, Excuses, Excuses, and it will cost $500 for their services, this is the biggest Scam yet, they are very nice and polite when there taking your money (membership fees) but when it's time to payback they all become monsters, I spoke to many different level people from West Palm Beach office all the way to the regional Rep I didn't get anywhere, they will never see a dime from me ever again, watch out people they are bunch of thieves.
I've had to make 2 calls to Sea Tow, since obtaining my membership. The first time we were out at Cayo Costa on a holiday (really busy day) and the Captain called me back immediately. He walked me through the problem and headed my way. The boat finally started and I called them back to cancel and there was no problem whatsoever. Great attitude. The second time they actually had to tow me. I just bought the boat and hadn't even called them to put it under my membership (didn't matter). They came out immediately and towed me back to the lift. The best money I ever spent and they are very helpful in a stressful situation.
