Don't go here if you are driving a Company Truck . They will make a check made out to the truck's company name. Besides the customer service is very poor at the scale.
There have been repeated cases where the actual weight or material type did not match the declared data, causing delays and additional time for corrections.
They sent a text saying they would pay $20 over scale weight. Because I didn't show my text soon enough they would not honor it. Plenty of other scrap yards. Or this one. Just know they will screw you over and not care one bit. Go to coastal or tmr
Used to be a good place to come to and they were very fair with their prices now it seems that you have to video when you pull onto the scale because they will rip you off and lower your weight and then tell you that it's radio frequency causing the problem. June 26th 2025 1:4 0 p.m. I pulled on to the scale and as I sat there motionless I saw my weight drop 350 lb I then showed the worker the recording on my phone of the weight dropping continuously I was then asked for my slip back so that way they could put the correct weight on it but that was only after calling them out. I was then notified up front by the cashier that their radio frequency supposedly messes with the scales in the weight. Long story short take note of your weight when you first pull on the scale because if you don't they will rip you off and then tell you childish lies as if you believe them.
I had a full truck of heavy metal pipes with a light metal fence over and they just screw me , they said is all tin and gave me the smallest price. Shady business, stay away
Adolph is the guy that works at the scale and he either intentionally stole more than 30lbs of #2 copper from myself at the scale, or he did it by mistake. The method they weight their precious metals is backwards. You put everything on the scale at once and then they start deducting the metals, rather then weighting each type of metal individually. I wanted my #2 copper back, but they already poured it into the big bin. I tried to dispute it at the office but it wasn't worth my time. This happened on December 3rd about 12:00pm. I hope the office contacts me and goes over the footage to rectify this.
Beware!! this is a scam do not do any type of business with this company I was very confused that before I shipped my copper wire I had over 18000 lbs That was weight on a certified scale recycling put my 40ft flat rack half filled with 500 mcm and a 5500 lbs chiller and my electric motors was lost for 2 days when I Argue the point That I didn't get a correct tear weight They weighed my copper with a 938m Caterpillar front loader at 46150 and told me that Their caterpillar weight 41000 lbs thousand pounds you can google this Equipment your self at 36000 I containously ask very politely for the weight of the 938m tractor empty Nick Their italian manger got very uncomfortable The manager at sa recycling told me that their tractor was broken And they could not put it on the scale empty and told .me to come back in 3 days on Monday This has been going on over 30 days.I still have not got a terweight I have this Incident on video and I will pursue this in the court of law I got scanned for thousands of dollars Customers beware run and don't look back The danger of scam artists are for real you will get ripped off and Promised everything I will be posting videos of Evidence of this unfortunate event this company will get served by The broward County sheriff's department and i am moving forward to press charges for grand theft of the first degree and I will sue for Punitive damages sorry Shawn Mr manger I text you several time to make this right and you agreed to send me my correct weight I did not sign anything your not going to get away with this I take this to the news team and make a very big deal of this
First time going there recycling my old hurricane shutters. The personnel were extremely helpful and patient. The process is very straight forward but was a little daunting to me. They graciously help me get it done. I felt the value given was very fair.
Its a scrap yard. Its not pretty or friendly but easy and fast. I got cash in 10 minutes. There is a process and you need to know it for first timers. Bring Your License!!! Know your car Tag!
First if ur in a car or truck u come through the fence and more a second left. Towards the open air warehouse.
Second u park and load it on the cart and male the line if there is one.
Third, once they give you your paper with the weight and total, get in your car, go out and around the building to the northwest corner, theres a window and atm, (not the office) make the line, and again have your license ready.
You will get cash or check depending on the amount and if you’re private or a company and enjoy! Easy but your first time is a learning curve. Hope this helps!
The staff was kind and helpful. If you have a small load, drive through the red gate. To your left there’s a white warehouse where you park, grab a cart to load up your recyclables, push up to scale, give deputy in station your ID and plate number. He’ll give you a purchase ticket. Take the purchase ticket to the cashier at the front of the building, North side. The cashier will process you and give you a receipt to have scanned. Proceed to front of building to scan the receipt and get paid. Hope this helps someone.
I only come here to dump steel. Ever since Capital sold to SA the service has gone downhill.
It's bad enough they are significantly lower prices. They also have you waiting in line.
Staff disorganized, few English speakers and if they do you can't understand them cause their face covered up.
Drove from 20 minutes away, I got there at 435, they supposedly close at 5 o'clock? Guy waved me off, I tried to tell him it's only 4 or 5 hundred lbs of clean copper and brass but he didn't care, just walked away... If you close at 430 then post that. Super unprofessional. Drive another 7 minutes south, they'll take care of you!
Horrible place to come to if convenience is your thing. If you're in a company truck, rather you own the company pr not, you will need PERMISSION LMAO. permission to drop off your metals. Or, if some writes a letter stating it's OK. I mean is ridiculous. Heres the catcher. They wont give you cash, they write the check in the companies name. Smh. This is the worst scrap yard on planet earth. Don't believe me? Then go see for self. This company won't ever see my face again.
This place is a joke they broke my trailer and ever since then I've asked them to be careful they will just tell me "too bad". They also hold your money ransom until you sign a contract at the end saying that they offered you PPE and encourage you to wear it however no one from management, the interior yard, or yard entrance tells you or offers PPE. They will also tell you one price over the phone and put another price on your ticket I would suggest doing your research and going somewhere else

Since SA bought out capital we have noticed a better service. We use to have to schedule pick ups for our dirty aluminum, wait for a specific truck to come with guys that could load it and then it would take hours. Now they just drop off a dumpster at our shop, we load it as needed and they pick it back up at the end of the day. Talk to PJ he will get you sorted out right.
I have been coming here for the passed 4 years I thought this place was honest but today I was proven wrong I brought 500lb of yellow brass and I cleaned the hell out of it removed every screw and used a magnet to be sure.. and I brought it here and the guy that was checking it priced it out as dirty brass and before I could say anything they dump it... I know for a fact that was all clean and separated... can't trust anyone now days....! I'll never come to this place again.
Everyone here was very helpful. We did a large recycling project. Steven arranged semi's to pick the steel up, he worked with us as our schedule changed. The dispatcher was very helpful. The driver was great. The rates were really good. I highly recommend them.
This place is a rip off. They play with the scale weight. Don't go in with big loads they will truly rip you off. They deduct weight from the scale. The workers are rude as hell. Never again will I ever visit. They try to offer you higher prices because they already know they are deducting your weight from the scale so it evens out to the same as the other yards. Would not refer them to anybody

Yes it can be a bit overwhelming to a newcomer but go with the flow and youll have an enjoyable experience. Employees are obviously earning their money so being polite and helpful is highly recommended.
Bring boots and gloves as the yard can be a treacherous place. Expect mud when rainy and dust when dry. Drive where others drive to avoid debris from damaging your rubber.
I live in Hollywood so practically equidistant to Opa Locka yard. If i can help it, I will never *ever* go down to a Miami scrap yard again.

Prices are good. The parking and traffic there is horrible. The black guy at the scale is a real scum bag. Always has an attitude. And everytime I go I get a nail or some kind of debree in my tire. Be careful driving thru there.

I would give no stars if possible. I called this place two days before I brought in my trailer full of aluminum. I asked the gentleman on the phone how much they were paying for aluminum. He asked me what type of aluminum and I informed him it was from windows removed from houses. He informed me that they were paying .70¢ per pound. I asked them if they had drive on scales and he informed me that they did.
I then arrived at the place with my trailer full of aluminum. The owner came up to my truck and asked what I had in the trailer. I informed him that I had aluminum from windows. He stated the payout was .50¢ per pound. I argued with him for a minute and then gave up. I then drove through the packed yard and met a gentleman in the back where all of the aluminum was. He was a very nice person. After I dumped the aluminum I pulled on to the exit scale and the gentleman gave me my weight ticket. I then pulled to the front where the cashier is located. When I approached the line for the cashier I looked down at my ticket and noticed that they shorted me 40 lbs. because there was "iron" mixed in. I immediately went to the office and confronted the owner. He stated to me that the gentleman that helped me unload observed iron support bars in the windows and that he estimated the weight of the iron to be 40 lbs. Every step of the way this business proved itself to be nothing but a rip off. I will never do business with them again!

I called your business and informed the person on the phone that I had aluminum from windows that I was bringing in. I never informed the person on the phone that I had "clean" or "dirty" aluminum. He informed me that it was .70¢ per pound. However, I still agreed to sell it to you at .50¢ per pound because it was the same price everyone was buying it for.
I am having a hard time understanding why the gentleman in the back that helped me unload did not inform me of the "iron" mixed in with my windows. I am also not sure how he could have known about the supposed "iron" in the windows when he did not test it. Also, how can you just, as you put it, erroneously assign a weight value to the supposed "iron" by looking at it.
I would also advise you that next time you respond in a public forum to a review that was left about your business you do it without emotion and make sure that you state all of the facts.
