Small business but they are great at what they do. Great customer service and value. I was extremely impressed at his knowledge of my gas generators. Would absolutely recommend.
I called Earls Place on September 18Th about my Ariens snowblower that wouldn’t go in reverse and the receptacle to where you plug the extension cord to start. It was hanging loose. I asked for that to be repaired also. They were very quick to come to the house to pick it up and take it back to their shop to work on it. I was told that it was all rusted and needed to sit in oil so it would be freed up to go in reverse. I had called several times to get an update on the repairs and was told it was still sitting in oil trying to free itself of the rust. Finally I was told that it needed a new carburetor which they ordered and put on. On October 24th my snowblower was returned to the house, and I asked the young man and young lady who brought it back to start it up and show me how it goes into reverse. The young man started it up and I proceeded to put it in reverse which it still did not go in reverse so I looked at him and he looked at me with a bewildered look and said nothing. I was so disgusted with the service that I just gave him the $170 in cash that he wanted and said please leave. The young man did say to me if I have any other problems just give them a call, I snickered at him and said are you kidding? I believe the snowblower will get me through this winter and I’ll find somebody who’s capable enough to adjust the linkage in there or maybe I’ll just do it myself. That’s what I should’ve done in the first place. sorry Earl won’t be using your services any longer.
Jim (Earl's Place) got my JD lawn tractor running again after it blew 3 out of 4 push rods and valves. He showed up at my house, diagnosed the problem, and returned later to fix it. The fee was acceptable and paying was easy with Venmo, Cash App and PayPal. We talked liked neighbors for about 30 minutes when he was done fixing it, as he regaled me with colorful mower stories which convinced me he knows his business. Mower runs great so far. So I was happy with the end result.
Jim has a unique business edge. He makes house calls. This is a big deal when your mower won't run and you have no way to get your rig to his shop. If I was running his business, I would push this advantage. At first, I had called a backyard mechanic but had to find a way to get my tractor to his house. That was a deal breaker. Then I called Earl's Place and put that worry to rest.
The key, however, is patience and acceptance of some odd business practices (in my opinion). I called his number and got his voice mail which said to call the office number. I called and the woman at the other end said to text him as that's how he prefers to communicate. I texted and he texted back quick enough. But business by text?!
Next, he showed up when he said he would to diagnose, then said he had to order parts and said he will see me the following week. Three weeks went by and I finally called him. He said I was on the schedule for that day or next. He showed up ahead of schedule and fixed the problem with a quickness. But I would have been more at ease if he had called or texted with an update in those 3 weeks I waited to hear from him.
I would def recommend Jim and will call him again if I have a problem. Have faith in your fellow man, have some patience, and see what Jim can do for you. I trust him.

Last summer I dropped of my riding lawn mower for service. It needed to have the throttle linkage repaired and adjusted. The mower sat for weeks; when I called, the owner told me his tech was sick. Fast forward another 1.5 weeks and I asked to pick up the mower to take somewhere else. No problem except Earl lost the retaining nut for the linkage. He promised he would order another and personally drive it to me...that never happened. The mower sat for over a month and came back with a missing piece. Don't take anything to this guy...absolutely terrible service.
On 5/12/24 I paid Earl's Place $523 for the purchase of a
bagger attachment for my Troybilt riding lawn mower. I have
not received the bagger or any contact from this business
since about the status of this order. I wrote letters on 6/3
and 7/3 requesting a refund - no responses. On 8/3 I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Please beware of doing business with this company (dba Weeks Services, Jim & Son Corp, Jim Knox owner).
Service was friendly and prompt but the $184 for changing 2 spark plugs and supposedly adjusted my valves but mower still has no power and I hear a clunck where it didn't do when plug quit, I will never use earls again
Earls Place will be my go-to moving forward with any and all small engine maintenance/ repair. Jimmy (the owner) made sure from the moment he picked up the mower to the moment he dropped it off I was aware of everything he and his team were doing. Great experience, even told me a thing or two I did not know about my mower. Recommend 10/10.

Run don't walk to this place if you need mower repair. You can trust them to know what to do and provide you with great service. They answer the phone and talk to you about what they think you need. Give them the time they need to do the job right. You won't regret it. The price is what it ought to be. Be happy you are able to pay for quality work like this.
Great service I will be bringing them all my things that won't start. Any company that can do a samedayturnaround call you on the phone and says would you like me to drop it off on my way homebecause snow is on its way has won my business.
I got my lawnmower serviced second year in a row and very pleased both times. This time I ended up with a flat tire ( no fault of repairs) and no compressor to put air in it. They came out for me and it needed repaired and they fixed it for me right away. Didn't even charge me. Fantastic people.
Good work at a fair price. Family business going into the 3rd generation. Jim, the current owner, is a pleasant guy.
Got 2 snow blowers and a lawn mower running in 4 days. All had been neglected for years, but were worth repairing. Some rough edges (cover bolts not replaced and cosmetic touches that would have been nice), but lovely engine work.
Shop is in the barn; rustic. Yard is an elephant's graveyard of old & new tractors and gear, unpaved, very country, but like I said, good work.
What ever u do. Do not take a scooter to Earl's place. I took mine there and they had it for 3 months and did not fix the problem. Put a variator and clutch on it after 3 months and still wasnt the fix. The secretary was very ignorant and unprofessional when I called after 2 weeks of them having it and was asking if they diagnosed the problem and she was very ignorant to me . Jim was very professional but has no idea about scooters. So if you have a scooter do not take it there.
My son bought a riding mower and took one swipe on his front yard and it died. Earl's Place came and picked it up, replaced all the parts needed, cleaned it up and got it running like it was almost new. We are more than happy with the service and the price! These are fantastic people! They are fair, honest and will not try and charge you for things you don't need. They even went so far as to pull something off a spare mower to save us money because that's the type of people these folks are. We are blessed to have them working on our machines and I will send everyone I know to them from now on! Thank you again!!!
If you are looking for a professional to service your small motors/lawn machinery look no further then Earls Place. By far the best customer service I have experience since living in Delaware. There's a lot of businesses that can learn a lot on how to conduct business from the staff that works at Earls Place. I was truly overwhelmed and satisfied with the service that was done to my go-kart. The staff truly have given us a great start for the summer.
Exceptional service would be an understatement. Earl's Place has been serving our John Deer for the past 2 years from simple oil changes/blade sharpening to major repairs such as replacing the crankcase gasket. Have been 100% satisfied with their work every time and their prices can not be beat, as they are fare and reasonable; not to mention they puck up & drop off your equipment in a timely manner as well. If I had to rate them today, 5/10/18, they would get a 10+☆ for going above and beyond as no one would ever do what they did for me (one of their customs). In the middle of mowing, my John Deer shut down and in a panic I called Earls Place explaining the situation. Having a broken down John Deer in the middle of your lawn in not something anything homeowner wants. I was informed that they would send a tech right out with a jumper pack and low and behold within 5 minutes a tech showed up to jump the battery, to only find out if was a loose wire connecting to the battery. You will never find that type of response and/or customer service as will at Earl's Place. I'm thankful and happy and would recommend anyone without hesitation to them. I clearly understand why my neighbor's use them as do I ... they stand behind their word! Today, they were my "on-call" doctor & every year they are our zero turn John Deer's doctor. 10+☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
