I had a dead battery that I didn't realize was dead until an hour before I had to pick up my kiddo from school, and these wonderful people made sure that they were there to jump my vehicle in plenty of time to get me to the school. They not only jumpedt car, but they showed me exactly how they were doing it, which is so cool! My battery is a little strange and I hadn't ever had to jump it before so I was lost without them. They saved the day! I will absolutely call them first if I EVER need anything like this again! Thank you SO MUCH !
My friends car was repossessed, he paid to get it back. The next day he called about picking it up. The lady was extremely rude, and vaguely threatening. As myself and several others heard her say to our friend "I know exactly who you are, so you better watch it." when he snapped back at her for her rude tone and unacceptable way of speaking to a customer/client. It's bad enough the company did not have anyone there to release his car on a regular business day, wich is asinine. Then the lady proceeds to call a mutual acquaintance and tell her of the situation, and said acquaintance calls to get on my friends case about the situation. Which just shows more unprofessionalism. All these minor things aside, the biggest issues we have, is damage done to the underside of the vehicle, because the tow driver clearly pulled the car over a curb. And missing items from inside the vehicle. And seeing other reviews, it's apparent these people are ok with taking what they want from inside vehicles they tow, which we all know is illegal. Very POOR SERVICE all around, and clearly NOT TRUSTWORTHY. Anybody who has their car towed by these people needs to check their car of their possessions, to make sure items have not been stolen.
Terrible. We ended services with them because the lady that does their customer service is nasty and rude. They continued to say they were showing up and still sending bills for new service they never actually did because they know the owner of the house has dementia. This is AFTER we discontinued services! They are taking advantage of a disabled senior.
No wonder their business is suffering.
Had my check engine light come on while traveling through the area, and they took care of my issue promptly on a Saturday for a very reasonable price, which is more than I can say for other places I called that day. They were courteous with good communication. I had a great experience and I would definitely recommend them.
Prices always change with no warning and the first time I had an accident they stole a $2,000 laptop out of my car and called it “collateral” after that they raised the tow fee and charged me $300 instead of $200 which my receipt stated the price was. I would go literally anywhere else if I had the choice.
When I got to the office of Basin Towing I was pretty shocked how run down and dirty the office and property was. The fence was in bad condition, the office really needed a good deep cleaning, and there were two cats that were kept in the office that I believe live there.
On the other hand, I was very happy because I didn’t have quite enough money to get my car out of the tow yard but they worked with me on what I had and I was very grateful for that. Also, I had misplaced my License at the time and I just had a photo of it on my phone and that wasn’t an issue.
Waited 4 hours for them to show up. I finally call them when I have the time and find out they put down the wrong number and instead of double checking that number just decided to not reach out or do anything about it. Then the guy who literally messed up my phone number wants to have an attitude with me. Okay 😂
Jordan is the best tow guy in the area, super friendly and knows what he’s doing! Sometimes they don’t answer the phone and you have to call a few times but once you do get in touch they make everything super easy and fast.
DO NOT RENT U-HAULS HERE!!!! The tow company is great but Terissa WILL RIP YOU OFF!!!! Do not trust her, she will lie and cheat you out of your money and blame everyone but herself l. Be careful
I augured myself into a snowbank off-to-the-side ditch on my friend's very steep driveway. It took a few hours (probably because of all the snow and the stuck vehicles all over the county). Jordan was the person who operated the tow truck. PLEASE PUT FIVE STARS AROUND JORDAN'S NAME!!!! What a kind, gentlemanly, 100% professional!!! You folks are fortunate to have Jordan on your staff! He is a friendly, engaging, problem solving, patient, and quintessential professional. Let me say I LOVE MY LITTLE 2007 HONDA ELEMENT. Jordan treated my car like it was made of delicate jewels! No kidding! Because of his help I was able to make it to the top of the steep driveway and onto the road. THANK YOU!!!!
Wonderful experience. Jordan came to save me and arrived quickly. He followed all instructions regarding the safety of my vehicle. Took me where i needed to go. I paid 75 for a short distance tow. Tow guy was professional. However; because I got towed from a car wreck and am using insurance, I need a receipt which I've been asking for 3 weeks.
I needed a jump for a dead battery. The driver arrived at the scheduled time and even called ahead to let me know he was on the way. He also recommended a couple of places I could purchase a battery and have it installed for free. That saved me some money and I even managed to get a discount on the place he recommended first - saving me even more money. Thanks for the service plus!
AAA sent them. My only regret is that I didn't get the driver's name. Not only did I have a flat by Molas Pass but it was snowing. As I got out to look at the tire, I guess I freaked out and I began to feel faint! I am elderly but usually very strong so I was a little afraid of that physical reaction. The driver showed up quickly even though I was a little disoriented on my instructions, all I could say was the mile marker and the highway until my head cleared (!) He kept making sure I was keeping warm while he fixed the flat in the very narrowest shoulder margin. After asking how many more miles I had to go he checked the pressure on all my tires. He examined the flat to assess what could be wrong. I felt very well cared for and as though he went the extra mile for me. I am very grateful for that.

I don’t normally post reviews - but what incredible service! With a broken down car at 1:30 am I was able to call and get my family home safely and get my car towed - to top it off we live in another county. Thank you, thank you for you willingness to help.

Paul was great. Called AAA and glad that Basin Towing answered their call. The driver arrived 20 minutes earlier than estimated time, usually have to wait over an hour for someone to come but he was super fast and got the car loaded and unloaded speedy quick too. Very much appreciated, I don’t know about regular service charges but these guys are great.

I was passing through durango and badly needed new rear brakes, called around all the shops in town and got the best price and the best service here. I brought my 05 honda crv in and less than 4 hours later i was back on the road. Paul was not condescending like most mechanics and was honest and fair.
If you are looking for an honest, reliable towing service to rescue your vehicle, look no further. I managed to strand my Jeep Liberty on the trail just above Animas Forks with 3 flat tires. I called Basin Towing & Repair and received a reasonable quote for towing my Jeep down off of the mountain and all the way back to their shop in Durango. Then they were able to replace all 4 tires for a competitive price. Everyone that I interacted with was polite and helpful. They did what they said in the time that they said it would be done. This is now the only place in SW Colorado that I will do business with.
I am a long-time Durango resident (28 years) that extensively commutes. Yes - the Basin Towing & Repair tow driver was friendly and they came right out while the other companies actually told me over the phone it would take 1-2 days to give me a tow within the city limits of Durango to Morehart Subaru just 2 miles away. What happened next is beyond words a nightmare and I do not have kind words for the terrible rip-off that happened next. On October 3 2017 I called Basin as my SUV was suddenly producing a horrible grinding and vibration, the tow driver listened to the grinding sound and said he thought it was rocks in the brakes. I told him I was scheduled for Morehart the next day and wanted a tow. Dumbfounded is my words when he told me to drive to Morehart with him following me. Yes - Basin towing with their large flatbed truck and my car making a horrible grinding sound actually followed me to the car dealership. Next I was charged $70 for him following me. Yes - right in front of the dealership two miles away with Basin just following me, I was charged $70. No - the Subaru Tribeca was never placed on the flatbed truck. No- I was not reimbursed by AAA. I have filed a complaint with AAA and with Morehart, plus Subaru of Grand Junction. Morehart claimed it was a rock in the brakes just like Basin. My SUV was in the Morehart shop a full day and I was told it was safe to drive. Days later I was driving State Highway 550 between Delta and Grand Junction when my right rear (where all the grinding sound came from) lost it's bearings, suspension, power steering, drive shaft while driving 60 miles an hour. I thought I was going to be killed. I am a senior citizen that is recovering from paralysis three years ago. Morehart not only got a phone call about their poor diagnosis, but I was never reimbursed by AAA. As for Subaru of Grand Junction, they got paid for the extensive repairs, plus the repairs for my Forester because they immediately recognized it was not rocks, but a critical failure of the right rear. As for Basin Towing & Repair - I felt I was conned. I have been extremely vocal and filed complaints. I was visiting a friend who is also a long time resident and business owner and they also are telling people what happened. I didn't mind paying a fee for following me, but to charge a full $70 tow charge when all they did was follow me, then misdiagnosed , as well as Morehart, is beyond words. My SUV needed to be towed on a flat bed and not prejudged as "rocks." Because of this I ended up with a vehicle that was extensively damaged, eventually spent over $6,000 in repairs in Grand Junction. When my right rear went out along Highway 550, I was driving alone in a isolated area, miles from anywhere in the middle of a snow storm. What Basin Towing did to this tiny woman, a senior who is partially paralyzed, is beyond words. I literally sat there shaking in tears talking to Morehart about their misdiagnosis. Yes - Basin Towing made $70, but it will never regain any kind words and I am extremely vocal and unhappy, I am a long-time Durango resident, and former business owner, and it cost both Basin and Morehart any future business.
Drove over 2,000 miles from South Florida to Bayfield towing my RV. On first morning of our arrival, the van would not start. Called Basin Towing to drag me to Durango, figuring I had to get it fixed by dealer. However the tow truck driver said they had good in-house mechanics, so I had them pull the van to their shop (which is conveniently located close to Enterprise Rental Car where I got a vehicle for a few days while they checked out my van and ordered parts). Basin's mechanic was meticulous and found that a clogged fuel filter caused the old , original fuel pump to fail - even bench tested old pump to ensure that was problem. Their price to perform the repair was less than what a dealer would have charged and it took a lot of labor to drop the fuel tank! Basin had a skilled and knowledgeable mechanic who did the repair job right. Within 2 days we were back on the road and exploring the mountains, then put on 2,000 more miles driving back to Florida. These guys are great!
Great towing service! Car broke down just north of Durango after their normal operating hours and they willingly sent a driver to tow us despite it being after hours. Also had car repaired there and it was pretty expensive. After talking with the manager and the other two mechanics about the price and the repairs that were done it became very clear to me that they were very upstanding, helpful, and honest mechanics (which in my opinion is hard to find in the four corners area). They replaced a cheap fuel pump that failed after 6 months which was put in by the Goodyear on airport road in Farmington, NM. Yes the fuel pump was expensive at $350.00 but it was much higher quality and had a 3 year warranty on it. I highly suggest this place for towing and repair(if you don't mind paying a higher price for higher quality parts).
