Best place in the area for used or new metal!! Everyone there is amazing to work with and prices are half the cost of other places!!! This should be your only stop!!!
This place is rad. Very helpful. Prices are reasonable for where we live. I do fab work and have vast majority of the stock I need in stock and special order turn around is usually a week. Great staff! Always a great time going there. Always recycle your steel.
You cant get anyone on the phone ever at the durango yard. Asked the lady at the desk (Tracy)why she said she doesn’t answer the phone anymore and to leave messages its easier for her to manage calls. Did that and never got a call back 3 different times. I’ve waited weeks if not over a month to get a quote on stuff mostly just to see what it would be. This last time started talking with the Montrose yard on quotes and haven’t heard anything sense June. The guys in the yard are definitely the only reason why that place is still going cause they actually help with what you need. If you want poor customer service on the business side this is the place to go.
They majorly ripped me off; they called my clean aluminum "Breakage Aluminum and gave .07 per lbs.
I got only 178.33 for over 400 lbs of copper and aluminum, do not go there!
This place is Big Rip off.. If you have a lot of metal to give. Do not! I was told 35cents per pound for 400 lbs of stainless steel. And they gave me. 0.065 cents per pound and got close to 30$ for all that metal. Customer serve was bad with a rude lady on the phone.
They offered me .50 per pound
I find it suspicious that either A) you don't get a receipt unless you specifically ask for one and that B) each receipt is always a whole number i.e 100, 200, 500 etc. I would like them to be more transparent, how do I know they don't always round down?
I walked away not certain that I was getting a fair deal, .50 per pound does add up though and it is nice to get cash for clearing out the garage.
My gut tells me to walk in there knowing how much weight I have and making sure to get a receipt that aligns with that.
On the positive side, they were easy to work with and have a super efficient system for drop off.

They intentionally mis identified my materials and then payed me me sub par rates on top of that. I will not use them ever again and if you value your time and money I recommend shopping around the surrounding counties. Had I would have known that I would have been screwed so bad I would have gladly taken my business to Farmington.
I stopped in to see what they offered. Guy at the counter was super cool! I was given permission to look at their inventory, so I know what's available. Great selection of new tube, angle, and strap. Good selection of sheet with more at their other location. Very organized with all of the racks clearly labeled.
Recycle is tidy and flows smoothly.
Brought in a 3,100 pound load of steel. Was handed $15.60 with no receipt by the tattooed guy at the cash register... I'm thinking that's the last time I'll ever go back to this place...
These guys are great! Its about time that La Plata County had a recycling service company. And they paid me money for my scrap. Friendly and courteous staff i will be back:),
