Amazing shop and owner! We had a very stressful last minute issue right before leaving for a trip with our trailer, and even though the shop was closed Louis picked up the phone and still offered to help us. He stayed late to wait for us, helped us when we got lost, and was overall extremely generous and kind. When we got there, he figured out the issue fixed it that evening, and was perhaps even too fair with the price. You can tell he is great at what he does and cares about his customers and just wants to help them. Definitely recommend coming here! Big plus for having one of the sweetest shop dogs.
Came down from Canada to move my son home and rented a uhaul trailer. Upon hooking up trailer at 430 on a Tues we found wiring on tow vehicle did not work so we were directed to midnight and they went the extra mile after hours to get our vehicle fixed . The owner diagnosed and had our vehicle back on the road in just over an hour. Thank you for your kind service
Avoid. While Luis installed the hitch quickly on my 2023 Tesla Model S , they managed to scratch my bumper (on brand new car), I could only pay with cash/cheque - and I could not obtain a receipt for the work.

There is no off the shelf hitch for my car but Louis nicely custom fit a closely matching hitch to my car. He knows his specialty. I had to put a deposit down for ordering in the parts by check (no credit card) but no issues. He works hard for his business.
This review is long overdue. Last summer, we were preparing for a trip and our hitch parts from another installer were lost. After much frustration with the first installer, we found Luis and his team at Mid-night who found us a solution right away so we could start on our trip the next day. The most compelling thing about our experience was his ability to seek a solution rather than dwelling in the hurdles. The work was top-notch and expedient. I wish I could give Mid-night ten stars—highly recommended.
We needed a hitch in stalled on short notice. After shopping around we found Mid-night Automotive. Not only was Louis able to to it, (no one else had the part)he brought our car to us when the work was done, went over the use of the breaking system and told us we could call him if we had any trouble. I needed a custom placed 2 inch receiver for my trailer bumper so I went to the hitch outlet in Redwood City who specializes in racks and trailer accessories. They did not have, nor could they do what I needed, so they highly recommended midnight automotive and for me to contact Luis. I Could not be happier with the outcome. Luis exceeded my expectations and fabricated a special tire mount and strengthened bumper welded to my trailer frame that will work perfectly for carring loads/bikes on the back of my 17 foot Casita trailer. also he was more than accommodating and ordered a cargo basket for me, he had it within a day, Asked if I wanted to simply come by to pick it up and put it together at home, or he could do it, at no extra charge, by noon. if you were looking for specialized custom, personal, high-quality service and workmanship, I would highly recommend midnight automotive for all your special metal fabrication/auto/RV/trailer work! Louis (owner) is highly knowledgeable and knows all scenarios when installing a hitch. We drove all the way from Fresno and he helped us walk through whole process. We installed Stealth Hitch w/ wiring harness.
Not only did he do a phenomenal job but also tested all the electricals to make sure wiring harness was working well. 5 Stars.

Called Luis from the freeway at 5:30 on a Friday. We had just discovered our trailer's electrical line had come loose on the 5 and was now thrashed! "No problem'" said Luis. He had us fixed up in under 30 minutes, and the cost was quite reasonable. Highly recommend you support this outstanding small business owner.
Very high quality work installing a trailer hitch on my car, and a friendly owner. Minus one star because he was running late for my appointment and communication about that wasn't great.
Luis and his team modified my 26' tandem boat trailer, installing a 'pivot' style hitch. The modification, including the cuts, welds, brake line work and complete installation were outstanding. Additionally, they did a great job on bearing and axle work needed on the trailer.

Luis is an excellent guy and does great work at a fair price. I needed a hitch installed on my Kia Soul. I found Midnight on Google Maps brought in my hitch and he had it done in 45 mins. Highly recommend this shop in Redwood City.
