Great service all throughout my visit to the store. They usually always have what I need too.

The service in the bike department was excellent. No one was in the swim department, which is the only reason I didn't give five stars. Sports Basement is a great store. I just wish there were a few more people on the floor to answer questions.

Michael from the bike section was the coolest and considerate chap! Helped me get the bike fixed ASAP and running! Definitely recommend him to anyone who has bike issues or needs help!

I needed some new tires for my triathlon over the weekend and was in a pinch. Bryan from the bikes department was patient with me and helped me identify just the set I needed over the phone. Then, when I got there later that week, Michael was so helpful getting them on my bike. Both of those dudes need raises, stat. I'm a Sports Basementeer for life now thanks to those guys.

I needed walking shoes. The young woman in the shoe department was very helpful. She was also friendly. The cashier was also friendly and helpful when I decided to become a member. I was very happy with my visit to Sports Basement.

Rented a mountain bike on Friday evening (Aug 8th). The person preparing the bike was super helpful and clearly loved riding. The bike was awesome on the trail, overall had a great time, thanks for making it possible

The staff at this location are so friendly and helpful :) All the sections are well staffed and I got good advice about picking out affordable backpacking equipment They also have a really good in-store inventory, for e.g. they have a huge number of tents pre-set-up in the store which is really useful!

I love this store! One of my favorite places to shop. The bike shop team are amazing. I had a difficult warranty issue with a new bike I had purchased at another shop online and the bike shop went above and beyond to help me fix the issue with the manufacturer. Huge thanks to Trent and Kiersten for their help with this. If you're in the market for a new bike check out Sports Basement Redwood city!

Worked with Jack in the bike shop today. Swapped out my front derailleur cable in a snap. The bike service team here is excellent.

Did the works package for my first season snowboarding! it was great to get out there and luckily I had some friends who let me use their boards. Now I have an idea on the type of board I want to buy. I also picked up some boots over the weekend from here!

Got my son a e bike and the people over at the bike department where super helpful! We ended up going with a newer version they recommended because it had hydraulic brakes which are much safer than mechanical ones.

Ever since I retired from the outdoor industry I struggled to buy outdoor gear or find a shop that was community driven / accessible until now ! I love Sports Basement they have the best selection and balance of necessary gear and fun buys ( games , day clothes, etc). Not to mention the best customer service !

I had such a great experience at Sports Basement, especially with the team in the bike section—Niko, Zach, Shen, and Fernando. I came in looking for a bike for my son, and they all went above and beyond to help us find the perfect one. From the moment we walked in, they were welcoming, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable. They took the time to understand what we were looking for, asked thoughtful questions about my son's age, size, and riding experience, and gave us a range of great options to consider. What really stood out was how patient they were—there was never any pressure, just genuine care and a willingness to make sure we were confident in our choice. They adjusted the bike for a proper fit, explained all the features clearly, and even gave us helpful tips on maintenance and safety. My son was beaming when we left the store, and it’s all thanks to the amazing help we received. Huge thanks to Niko, Zach, Shen, and Fernando—you made what could have been a stressful process into a really fun and positive experience. We’ll definitely be coming back for any future biking needs!

I come to Sports Basement a lot — specifically for trike repairs. And every time I roll in, I cross my fingers hoping I’ll get Jack or Tyler, because those two are rockstars. Patient, knowledgeable, and actually treat you like a human being. Props to both of them — they know their stuff and never make you feel dumb for needing help. Legends. Now… let’s talk about the skinny older guy with glasses and a hat at the bike repair counter. The one who acts like sarcasm is a personality trait. This dude greets me like I’m an ex showing up uninvited: “You’re back again?” Yes, I am. Because, unlike your attitude, my trike is worth fixing. Today, I got the bonus eye-roll treatment. Not even subtle. He looked at me like I personally insulted his wrench. Spoiler alert: I didn’t. I just needed some air and maybe a little respect — but clearly, he ran out of both. Look, I get it. Not everyone can be Jack or Tyler. But this guy acts like he’s allergic to customer service. If you’re that miserable dealing with people, maybe go work in a basement without the Sports. Like seriously ? I'm giving you my business . Hire more Jacks and Tylers. And maybe hand that guy a mirror — so he can roll his eyes at himself for once.

We just bought the most expensive bike of our life at Sports Basement Redwood City, and we couldn’t be happier! We had visited the Berkeley and Stonestown SF locations before, but finally found a size small at the Redwood City store. The staff were all incredibly polite and helpful — they answered most of our questions and made us feel much more confident about making such a big purchase. Thanks again for the great service!

We visited Sports Basement looking for a baseball bat as a birthday gift for my son. We were very pleased with thr selection of bats and other baseball-related items. My wife and kids enjoyed exploring the store, which offered a wide variety of sporting goods, shoes, clothing and camping gear. All the employees were very helpful, making our experience enjoyable. We will definitely shop at Sports Basement more often.

The end of season ski/snow sale is fabulous - lots of selection/sizes and discounts. The service was even better. Friendly workers happy to help find things and a lot of patience at the checkout counter.

Sports Basement seems to have it all when it comes to sporting goods but, more importantly, they have great customer service. I just bought new ski equipment at the RWC store and have to give a shout out to their knowledgeable staff. Dean helped me find a good pair of boots, Kyle was willing to quickly look up an item online, and Heather M. was extremely helpful in getting me the skis I wanted. There's nothing like good experienced representatives to keep customers happy!

I’ve been a Sports Basement member for nearly a decade, and they continue to impress me with their fantastic service, great selection, and unbeatable prices on outdoor gear. Whether I’m shopping for apparel or renting equipment, I always leave feeling like I got a great deal. Most recently, we rented skis, and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful—friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. The rental process was smooth, and returning the gear was just as easy. While I was there, I couldn’t resist an impulse buy: a ski parka and pants at an amazing sale price. Sports Basement consistently offers quality products at prices that make it hard to say no! I highly recommend them for anyone looking for outdoor gear, rentals, or just great service. They truly take care of their customers, and that’s why I keep coming back.

The staff at this store are great. Every one that I've spoken with has been knowledgeable and helpful. They're dependable and always do great work. We brought in a ~25 year old bike of mine to get it back on the road for my son. It was fairly high-end when I got it (Klein Quantum), but it needed a good amount of work to get it road ready. We always bring our bikes here for tune-ups & other work, and everyone we've worked with in the bike dept. has been great - you don't have to play that game where you hang around & look busy until the one staff member you want is free to help lol. Jack was no exception - he looked over the bike thoroughly and went over the things that needed to be fixed (less than I had thought); he was no pressure about doing further work, but gave us good options for the extra things we wanted to get done. Bike was done right on time for the cost he told us, and when we picked up the bike up, Jack helped us with a last-minute pedal switch (we forgot to ask for it when we dropped off the bike) and then helped find and fit a great helmet for us. Don't ask me what they could have done better - I've got no answers for you. Thanks SB!

Great place to shop and best staff anywhere! Trying to rent and buy ski gear for out-of-town grandchildren and Eddie made it so easy with the many steps needed to get it right! Lisa brought me right sized ski clothes for me in the fitting rooms that made my day! Then made sure my spouse and I knew there was a bar for tea and hot spicy drinks. Great rates too - it is my go-to sports shopping place now!

I always have an amazing experience at Sports Basement! The staff are consistently friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what they do. Today, I attended the Wax & Snacks clinic led by Kerstin and Lindsay, and it was fantastic. The event, designed for women and femmes, offered a fun, supportive environment to learn ski and snowboard maintenance techniques, including waxing and tuning. Kerstin and Lindsay were incredible instructors—knowledgeable, approachable, and passionate about snow sports. Snacks and gear were provided, and the tools we used were practical and easy to find for future use. With a few waxing stations shared among the group, the setup worked perfectly—it gave us more time to chat with each other and connect with the amazing instructors. The atmosphere was relaxed, social, and full of learning. This clinic was just another reminder of why I love Sports Basement—the people truly make it a special place. Thank you for always going above and beyond! Highly recommend this clinic to anyone who loves the snow and wants to learn more about maintaining their gear!

My first time at Sport Basement. Wow, I was absolutely blown away. The people working there looked like they just LOVED to be there, and everyone was so friendly, and it made you feel like you were talking to a friend. Great selection of goods, and knowledgeable staff!

They sometime provide free drink that made me purchase something. Staff are mostly nice. Price is not the cheapest, but I could try on. This is good especially when purchasing ski boots.

Great place for buying sporting goods. They have a wide ranging selection of equipment for soccer, baseball, skiing, bikes, basketball, football, golf, volleyball, along with clothing items, nutritional bars, and others. Large parking lot makes it a pleasant shopping experience.

This is the biggest sports store I've ever been in by far. They have everything. Good to great quality brands in swimming, skiing, camping, outdoor wear, bicycles, skateboards, shoes, helmets, baseball and much more. You'll need at least an hour there to figure out what you want to buy because you'll get distracted with other things you want but didn't go there for.

I like the size and layout of this store. I don’t feel crowded and gives you plenty of space to try out gear. The best part is that dogs are allowed, unlike the Presidio location which is on a federal land.
