  My car was towed from a parking lot in an apartment complex at 9:30pm. I called to confirm that they had my car. I was told that I could come and pick it up since it was just brought in 30 mins ago. When I went to pick it up, no one was there. I called and was told that the driver went to pick up another car and was going to be there in an hour. 1 hr pass (11:04pm), no driver showed up. When i called, they said that driver is on his way and will be there in 20 mins. By 12:05am, still no driver. I called the same number and the guy said the eta for the driver is at 1:40am because he was coming from concord and that nobody told him that there were a couple of us waiting outside the parking lot to pick up our car. They had us waiting outside in the cold middle of the night and kept telling us that someone is on his way. The driver who came was rude and very unprofessional. Their fee was incredible high and I had to demand for a copy of receipt and breakdown of the cost. This company don’t deserve any star at all.

  Right or wrong no one likes there car being towed I didn't trust me I was hot. Pesy took the fuel out of the fire. His customer service and humor brought things back to normal. I hope you never have to meet him but he made a really bad situation pleasant

  These people do not know how to tow they screwed up my 4x4 and they stole out of my truck They robbed my tools out my toolbox so not hire or trust this company they also screwed up my truck by dragging my 4x4 from the back wheels instead of putting it on the flatbed I’m pissed

  Mind-blowingly unprofessional and rude. I had to call the San Mateo police on them because they refused to honor my appointment to retrieve an illegally towed car (not even mine, owned by my employer). According to the police, this was not the first time they have handled a situation like this. The employee who eventually came out accused me of "disrespecting" him and threatened to refuse to release the car to me. These people are the worst kind of vultures.

  Specialty towed my car from a private parking lot at an apartment complex. Apparently, I had inadvertently parked in a reserved spot during an "atmospheric river" downpour and upon the advice of a tenant with whom I was visiting who said there was no problem parking along a fence on the property. At least there was a break in the rain as I walked the mile and a half to the towing yard on Spring Street after calling the number on the tow warning signs. The driver Luis who responded was polite and professional and arrived promptly. I was aghast at the exorbident price I would have to pay for removal and storage but at least I feel some comfort in the fact that Speciality is a Latinx-owned business and employs Latinos. I just hope that brother and sister Latinx are given some consideration when their cars are towed as most I know would not be able to come up with such large amounts of fees and charges on a moment's notice. To be sure, a most unpleasant experience personally but Specialty is a company that appears to act professionally and works within the law. I just hope there is flexibility and understanding in dealing with those who would have less resources that I was required to muster.

  A tow truck driver for this company rear ended me. He was mad I called police and started to verbally attack me. Police report filed. Can’t believe a professional driver would act this way. BBB contacted after I could not get in touch with the owner.
