Great honest mechanic! Went in to get my brakes changed, Scotty told me I still have a decent amount of my brakes left and only charged me 50% of a brake check. He's very kind and his honesty is admirable, charged me a fair price for the brake change even though I ended up not needing one, I'll definitely be recommending Kindred ADR.

Of the many mechanics I've had work on my vehicles over the years Scott has been by far the best. He is highly knowledgeable and is great with presenting the work needed to be done on your vehicle. He shows you how the parts he replaced were damaged and why they malfunctioned. He also shows the quality work he does when replacing parts. Last but not least the price he charges for his quality work is more reasonable than anyone else I've ever went to. Sometimes his repairs were shockingly less than others have charged. With that being said go to Scott if you're looking for an honest mechanic who takes pride in the quality of their work.

This is a small gem. Scotty is amazing. Great communication. Always open to taking your vehicle despite poor notice. Does excellent work and doesn’t sell you unnecessary repairs/maintenance issues. Fixed my car despite repeated failed attempts at a dealer. Highly recommend.

Let me start by saying that I consider myself to have an above average mechanical aptitude when it comes to auto repair. I do a lot of my own maintenance, but I still know my limitations and when to defer to a professional. Having said that, I can quickly detect when someone really knows their craft as well as when they are out of their depth. I know that not everyone is up to the task of tackling their own vehicle maintenance/repair. It usually requires getting your hands dirty and it can be intimidating. Especially when you find yourself at the mercy of a new mechanic who is handing you an invoice for repairs you're not even sure you need. Unethical shops exploit ill-informed customers every day and it's really a shame. So those of you who feel like trying to find a capable, trustworthy auto shop (or any shop for that matter) ranks next to getting your teeth pulled at the dentist, I feel your pain. But I say to you... your tired search ends HERE. I present to you, Kindred ADR (Automotive Diagnostic & Repair) Owned and operated by Scott "Scotty" Kindred. I have met many different mechanics/technicians over the course of my life with varying degrees of aptitude and capability. Scott Kindred is top tier. Period. Yes, turning wrenches comes with the territory of automotive maintenance but what really sets a technician aside, is their ability to correctly diagnose nuanced issues that aren't entirely obvious. Scott's instincts are second to none and he refuses to let himself be defeated. Ever. I really appreciate Scott's thoroughness and attention to detail. He never skips steps to save time/money and I, for one, really appreciate that quality about him. This is a guy who, while changing a water pump on a classic Mustang, took the time to paint it Ford Blue to match the block all because a customer mentioned the idea in passing one day. Nobody shows care like that anymore! Additionally, Scott is unique in that he has an unprecedented commitment to transparency. I swear, it seems like everytime I bring one of my vehicles in for maintenance, I inevitably learn something new. He will take before and after pictures, videos, and show you his work. This caliber of ethics is unheard of anywhere else. I would likely reach the character limit of this review page listing off the myriad of different projects he has overseen and been a part of. From minor to major upgrades, restorations, custom work, there's really no limit to his capabilities. However, the only thing more impressive than Scott Kindred, the mechanic, is Scott Kindred, the person. It's true that Scott has a lot of passion for automotive repair and maintenance. He has a gifted ability that can't be rivaled. More importantly, he really has a love for people and it shines through in the way he interacts with his customers. He is generous, un-selfish, and I can't express how refreshing it has been to be a witness to his humanity. The world needs more like him. I have come to know Scott well in the past few months as he and I are both business owners in similar boats. His friendship and words of encouragement have had a real positive influence on me. I was in shock when he got my 1961 ford Econoline running. I took it to multiple shops before I saw kindred, where it just sat or they told me they couldn't fix it. He did incredible and clean work. He is the only mechanic I will go too now. Highly recommend!

Scotty always puts care when he works on my classic 68 bug! My car is always in perfect running shape after taking it to Kindred. I have known Scotty for years, and has always done honest business with me! Best of all Scotty always likes to educate me by showing me my worn out parts condition that he replaced! I never take my car anywhere else because of my confidence in Kindreds ADR work!

I moved out of the area in 2019, but still find ways to travel back to Kindred to have my Miata serviced. Scott is the best and I wouldn’t take my car anywhere else.

I've used Kindred ADR on several of my vehicles (corvette, mustang, miata) with excellent service and results. They go above and beyond with service, they are priced fair and warranty their work. They communicate timely (even the bad news) and the breadth of work they do is impressive especially the custom work. I won't take my cars anywhere else.

I came down to visit family from Seattle and I had my car die. I called AAA they didn't really seem to help that terribly much, then I found Kindred ADR. I left a message at about 7:30 p.m. on a Friday and got a return call at about 6:45 a.m. Saturday morning. I managed to get the car in to Kindred. Scotty looked at it, worked on it, had it repaired in way less time than I thought. He had it for barely 2+hours and got it fixed and dialed in ,and checked on the condition of other things knowing that we still had better than 15 or 1600 miles to get home. We were ready to go on the road for the rest of our trip and then ultimately head back to Seattle. We had to go to back to Bakersfield a second time on our trip ,then up to crescent City and then back to the Seattle area. No problems at all after Scotty worked on a Chevy Malibu 2013. All the way home good except for construction road slow down, but no mechanical issues whatsoever. I felt that what he charged was definitely very fair and I wished he was in my neighborhood. Quick, honest and fair price is definitely hard to find. I rate five and a half stars out of five stars!!!!! This is the place to go if you need car diagnostic/repair in North Orange county. Under new ownership, Scotty is honest,reliable and has the customers best interest at heart. I have been a customer for several years and have worked in the Automotive industry for the last 32 years. Scotty at Kindred automotive is the only person who works on my 4 cars.

Mike and his employees are honest and trustworthy. They will do their best to fix your car when you walk in without an appointment. Though making an appointment is appreciated. Mr Shultz Terry and Scott have been here at thia location for many years. MR Shultz is the kindest caring mechanic youll ever meet. So ladies, you have my word they will not tell you something is wrong and needs to be fixed unless it does. His prices are slightly higher but my opinion the cost is worth the comfort of not being ripped off. He constantly giving back to family friends and community.

I took my old Volvo 240 into this mechanics shop, for one thing.. To find me a part. I told him many times that I don't want him to work on my car, change anything, or waste his labor. I left the car over night, because he had to get a Vin # for the part, but he failed. Failed in many things. 1) He didn't find me my part I NEEDED. 2) He did not call me to get authorization before working on my car. 3) He charged me for the hoses he replaced and for an hour and a half of labor. I understand this is how Mike makes a living, so I paid. But will I bring my car back? Absolutely not. Any good mechanic calls the customer to get authorization before doing anything to the car. I could've not had the $180 I had to pay.
