Not sure how this place stays in business. 3rd time there due to convenient location, but never again. Today it was nasty with garbage cans filthy, bees flying around cans with garbage dumpster stench. Employee just sitting in his covered area on his phone doing nothing. They should be cleaning cans, sidewalk with Lysol and scrub broom. Have to see it to believe, but inside area where employee was sitting, & I'm not exaggerating there were at least 50 bees buzzing around as inside this area there are garbage cans full of aluminum cans that is attracting them. Attracting them all over sight due to non cleanliness. Even when I was unloading items to garbage cans I had a few bees hanging around because cans are filthy and stink like garbage.
Felt ripped off. My parent recycle cans and bottles in Santa Ana, I took them one time with 6 45 gallon trash bags of bottle and cans and they got close to $50, I took the same amount to this location in San Juan and received $18. Somethings not right!
It’s convenient because it’s open Saturday but it’s not my first choice because I feel they short change me compared to other places. I always get way less $ at this place.
First time i have conducted a transaction at this location. It was a very pleasant experience . Mark …I believe that was his name .He was very professional and was very knowledgeable at the service he provides .i will continue conducting business in the future…
Called to ask a question then was sent on voicemail. Then I got a text asking what do I need help with and asked if they sold metal and got a response 30 minutes later for a “no”
One of the workers was sleeping in his car during the working hours on 04/07/2024. They didn't give me a receipt. They didn't like make me sign anything. And they gave me exactly 25 bucks with no cents. Normally I make more than that at a different recycling center. I have a feeling they stole some money by not giving me the receipt. I am not going there again.
The recycling places around here are few and far between. In the last few years a lot of them have closed for various reasons. Glad we found Sunset Recycling. My wife is really into the recycling. These guys are very fast, courteous and professional They are always helpful (it’s alot of work) and polite. And they are honest. Check them out. You won’t be sorry ;)
My new go-to for bottle return /CRV. They take glass, plastic, and aluminum. They are open both Saturday and Sunday and are located behind Vons. It is a new place, but starting to get some grime, which is fully expected with recycling. There are a few characters who clearly found bottles for some cash, but that's great as it cleans up the area. All around, pretty classic recycling experience.
I take my cans here when I have a bunch…they give cash…I like the plastic containers they use…they are friendly and calm…. I will be using them for my recycling needs…
