I’ve been bringing my cars here for years and have had nothing but excellent experiences. You know that feeling, “you should take your car to my mechanic, they’re great!” That’s the feeling I have with Advanced Auto. They’ve worked on an Audi sedan, Ford van, Jeep Wrangler, Mazda Miata, and Lexus SUV. With each vehicle the display attention to detail, integrity, and quality. They aren’t the cheapest option out there but they’re the best value for money I’ve found in a mechanic. Having a mechanic you can trust means a lot. Family-owned and operated, super friendly, and willing to take the time and go the extra mile for every customer.

Great communication. Professional. This center was super helpful when my car broke down going into the park. They were very friendly and communicated promptly. Kutter and the crew went out of their way multiple times during this unfortunate and stressful time! 10/10 Would highly recommend here!

Every time we have had issues with either our Jeep or Subaru, they are our go-to! Even going above and beyond as we broke down just as we turned in the parking lot. Amazing staff and can trust the work they do.

I’m a new customer, and of course, my car decided to throw a fit right when I needed it most for work. A bunch of sensors lit up like a Christmas tree, and the car started shutting down while driving. With a packed schedule and no time to mess around, I started calling every shop in town. Same story everywhere: “We can get you in… in four days.” Then I talked to the crew at Advance Auto. They were upfront and told me it’d probably be four days too — but there might be a chance they could sneak me in sooner. I liked their honesty and the fact that they didn’t just blow smoke to get my business. You could tell they actually cared and understood my situation. Sure enough, the next day I got a call from Cambria with an update and an estimate. Less than 24 hours later, I got a second call — and surprise, my car was ready! They were super professional, explained what went wrong, how they fixed it, and didn’t talk to me like I was clueless about cars (even though I probably am). I’m beyond happy I got my car back ahead of schedule and ready for work. My buddy has always bragged about these guys, and now I get it. I highly recommend them. They treated me right, kept me in the loop, and got my car running like a champ in no time. Big thanks to the whole team — I’ll definitely be back (hopefully not too soon though), and I’ll be sending folks your way. From one business owner to another: solid work!

Advance Auto Center in Oakhurst California is the best place to get smog, auto care, plus the staff goes above and beyond for their customers and vehicles. It has been a long time since I have recieved this kind of care, thank you all who work at Advance Auto Cente.

Cutter and the crew are top notch. Took my blazer in for an issue with lack of power and they identified an issue with my steering , and a crack in my frame by the steering gear box .Thank you guys for being so professional and thorough in your inspection

Thanks to the good folks at Advanced Auto Center, we were in and out in less than a half hour on a Monday morning for an oil top off. An oil level warning light came up in our car enroute Yosemite which made us nervous. But we were extremely glad we found this auto shop. They checked our oil level and added a full quart of oil since we indeed low. We were off in no time. Excellent service!

I never leave reviews but these guys were above and beyond. Exceptional service. After breaking down the owner gave me a 40min ride to the airport after work and, after fixing it, dropped off my car at the airport so it would be there on my return. By far the test mechanic experience I've ever had in recent memory.

These guys are the real deal! knowledgeable, trustworthy and willing to go the extra mile to accommodate you. My transmission on my Silverado went out when passing through town on the way to Yosemite. They diagnosed everything while we were in the park with a rental car from two buildings down the street. Even tho it was bad news and an expensive repair, they did not try to upsell anything or waste anyones time. After the repair was done I was pleasantly surprised how clean my car was and how they took care of everything. One can tell that they take pride in their work and it definitely shows. My Truck drives like a dream again. Thank you!!

The turbo on my 2014 Ram 2500 went out on me. From the first call, to picking up my truck the communication and customer service was the best I've had in a long time. They went through the entire truck and detailed out the engine. I live on a dirt road and run that truck hard. It looked new. I can't praise this team enough. Jeff

Kambria was so polite and friendly. I was visiting the Yosemite for a week and I noticed some noise coming from my truck and I took it to Advanced Auto Center, by the time the noise went away but they still checked the entire area of my truck to making sure everything is in good condition that I can make it safe back to San Diego. They didn’t even charge me for diagnosis. They are honest and friendly.

Kutter and Kambria were great to work with. They went above and beyond to get our car fixed early after an accident on our last day in Yosemite so we could head home to San Diego before the weekend and having to stay another night in a hotel. Their team came in early to get us out and on the road. We are so thankful and would recommend them in the future.

These guys are great. The beautiful blonde receptionist lady was friendly, professional, relatable and very down to earth. The service was timely and affordable. My car passed smog! Definitely going back to these guys when I need to!

We were traveling from Tahoe to Big Sur when this awful knocking started to happen in the front of our van. I started calling mechanics in the Oakhurst area, keep in mind this was late morning on a Friday. As I expected, most shops couldn’t take me until the following week (totally understood) but, then, I called Advanced and spoke with Kambria. She was so kind, patient and more than willing to have her crew look and see what was wrong. I was nearly in tears because she didn’t hesitate to say they would try to help. She made me laugh during a stressful time, and that helped more than I can say. Got the van to them, again, so kind and welcoming, the van was on their lift and the issue diagnosed so quick (Nick is a great guy) it was just a bent heat-shield. They had us fixed and out of there so fast; we made our destination with no other issues. I’m beyond grateful and stoked there are good people who are willing to help and at a very fair price!

Cambria and the staff were excellent. I came in from out of state with an issue that wasn't even a part of her job. She helped me with my problem and even made some excellent food recommendations from the town. Great experience.

My car's automatic transmission warning light came on just outside of Oakhurst, on our way into the Yosemite Valley to go tent camping. While we were at AAC waiting to get diagnosed and hear the results, I saw firsthand the relationship they have with their local customers. They know their customers by name, ask about their families, and take time with them as they set them up for their routine appointments. I also realized how often they must have travelers come through, flustered by bad luck in the midst of a high pressure situation threatening their vacation. If you are an out-of-towner, please recognize that they have a business that services their local customers as well, and be willing to wait patiently and breathe deeply so that you can treat the AAC staff with kindness. Through our experience, it is clear that the staff will do everything they can in their power to care for you as well. (Not that everything is in their power, but if they can do it for you, they will, especially if there is mutual respect given!) We were so appreciative of how they took care of us (even calling a friend with an Air Bnb when we needed a place to stay while they fixed the car and then driving us to our hotel!) that we stopped off on our way home to thank them and give hugs. Thank you, AAC!

even though it was Friday and they were not able to see my car, I really appreciated Kutter's help talking through my car issues. last Saturday in 100+ degree temperature, my car had a red triangle and check engine warning lights, which went away a few hours later. Those warning lights came back last night on the way to North Fork, the lights dimmed at times. A few times, a loud beeping sound happened, all the warning lights came on and and the power steering didn’t work. The NAPA store in North Fork, tested the electrical contacts under the hood and thought it might be the battery, since the alternator was working. They didn’t have a battery for my car and referred me to the NAPA Store in Oakhurst. The Oakhurst store tried to install the battery but found out it was an inch and a half too long. Turns out that Toyota has two sizes of batteries for Priuses and I needed the smaller one for the older models. Barry said there might be an electrical grounding or connectivity issue somewhere. It could be the hybrid battery also. so I tried calling around to different auto shops, but none are able to take appointments. However, I super appreciated Kutter taking the time to listen to the problems with my car and provide perspective.

My wife and I came to rent a car. When we walked in, the gentleman whom I took to be the manager was deep in conversation with another employee about his unsatisfactory performance at that weekend's autocross event with his partner Mike, where they hit 14 cones. My wife and I just stood there, waiting to be acknowledged, for several minutes. Obviously it was a long enough wait that I was able to get the drift of the conversation that was being had. None of the three (and eventually four) men at the front desk seemed interested in breaking away from whatever they were doing to ask us if they could help. Eventually a young lady at a different desk asked if she could help us. When we told her we were there to rent a car, she pointed us in the right direction. The rental itself went smoothly; the car was dirty on the outside, and a box of crusty French fries had somehow been missed in the glove compartment, but otherwise no complaints. This was my first time coming into this establishment, and the lack of customer interest put a sour taste in my mouth about further patronage. Two stars because, after reading the other reviews, I have hope that this interaction was an isolated incident, and not the typical customer service that can be expected from this shop.

RV had some trouble on the way to visit Yosemite. Kutter and Cambria are some of the nicest people we've met so far on our trip across the country. They took good care of us and got us back on the road as quickly as possible. I would recommend Advanced Auto Center to anyone, anytime.

The best auto repair experience ever! Kutter and Kambria went above and beyond to get our car repaired quickly so we could get on the road home to LA before the big storm hit. Friendly, professional, thorough, fast, and honest. Doesn’t get any better than Advanced Auto in Oakhurst!

If I could give a higher rating I would. I came in here last minute when I had to cancel an appointment for the same day ended up having a family emergency but my car was having problems and I didnt trust it to drive back home. They gave me a rental that day and squeezed me in for a car diagnostic the next day. The staff are exceptional at what they do. I appreciate all their help with my car and getting a rental. I can see why they're always so busy because they're respected amongst the local and nearby communities. ❤

I was recommended to come here by the local AutoZone after getting a check engine code analyzed. I came in with the code indicating an oil pressure issue, and immediately Cutter assessed the situation for the probable cause. He gave me some advise on how to maintain my vehicle at these higher altitudes and strenuous driving conditions while topping off my oil. Advanced Auto is all about customer service, as I saw how the team interacted with other customers while I was here. I'll surely bring in the vehicle again to Advanced Auto if the issue is more severe than expected. Thanks again for the great service, Cutter!

This shop is honest, sincere and hardworking - if you are from out of town look no further, this IS the place to go!! The crew here are fantabulous! Our family vacation came to an abrupt halt when our car broke an axel on the way into the park. We had it towed to AAC and rented a van for the remainder of our trip. The shop went out of their way to call around to find a replacement and then since they were booked 3 weeks, one of the mechanics came in extra early to replace the axel so we would be able to pick the car up at the end of our vacation. To make the incident seamless they also rent cars and we were able to leave the van, avoid the drive to the Fresno airport and head home. The cost of the repair was more than reasonable. Avoid this shop if you are tourist!! Out vacation from Los Angeles to Yosemite got in a accident on the first day that our car almost fell out the cliff, the car was pull back, drivable but make a low noise due to muffler losses air. The Advance Auto mechanic just look down on the bottom of the car and said we have to leave the car at least 3 days to know the estimate and have to rent the car for our vacation and come back at least a week to pick up our car! I call and FaceTime my friend mechanic, he advised to go any mechanic to tight up the nut around the converter and I did so. The car fixed and we could enjoy the rest of our 4 days vacation at Bass lake then drive back to Los Angeles safely. This busy auto center has no heart or has no knowledge how to help travelers in need.

My daughter's car broke down while camping at Yosemite. These guys towed and fixed her car in one day. They were professional, honest, fair-priced and efficient. I highly recommend them.

If you are broke down or in a sticky situation, definitely go here. Kutter was so helpful and saved us when we thought all hope was lost. He drove us to our campsite so we could get the stuff we left, he offered to take us grocery shopping and to get food but we didn't want to take up any more of his time. Some of the nicest people I have met in California.

Never have I ever experienced such wonderful customer service at an automotive service dept. Michael and Co. took us in without an appointment and helped us get our splash guard safely attached (WAY TOO MANY POT HOLES IN YOSEMITE THIS TIME) for the 3 hour ride back home where we can take care of in a timely manner. I can’t thank him enough!!! You rock, Michael!!!

Thank you to Jarrod who towed us from Yosemite valley when our rental camper van broke down. Not only did he arrive when promised and get us to Advanced Auto Center, but he went out if his way to drop the rest of our group at the shuttle stop so they could enjoy the day while I dealt with the van rental agency and rented a different car conveniently from this same location. Michael was super helpful in renting us a replacement car with one way return to FSO at a very reasonable price. And Kutter went to bat for us in letting the van rental company know that the van was not safe to drive. Thanks to the whole team for saving our Yosemite vacation!
