I started having car issues on my trip. I called and asked if they were available to check my car out. I had some serious transmission issues. Everyone I spoke to was super helpful and informative. Despite the situation being what it was I felt well received and glad I came to this mechanic shop. I felt like I made the right decision coming here. If I’m in the area and need help with my car this will definitely be one of the first locations I will think of coming to.

Jake at kern river automotive was super helpful and reasonably priced. Where other mechanics wanted to sell me a whole new transmission Jake fixed some fuses and my car has been running better than ever. Also gave it a tuneup and fixed a few other things that was wrong with it for A fair price. Would highly recommend everyone in the area to fix your car here.

These people are a complete ripoff. I went in to have a $11 pc vaulve put on my truck. I asked how much this was going to cost me and she never would answer. My truck was there 6 hours . I called repeatedly and never got an answer to any of my questions. Then I got hit with a $346 bill. They said $280 was for labor. I could of done it myself . When I asked why was it so high she replied that's just what charge. I will never go there or refer someone there ever. THEY ARE A RIPOFF!!!

This place is phenomenal. You need a mechanic, look no further. Had a near totaled Ford flex, body is fine, but they put a forklift prong into the engine bay. I have no idea how but they fixed it and it runs great. Thanks so much you guys.

I used them for a tune-up, so when my AC went out, I took it to them. 1st, he charged it up, but it still wasn't working. Said it needed a new fan blower motor and resistor. So I bought that and they put it in. It worked one day and quit. I took it and dropped it off on Thursday. It set there for 2 days. Fixed or not, I needed my car back for the weekend. Plus, it's not safe on their lot. They close at 5 pm. I walked down there early to be sure to catch them. I got there around 430pm, and they were closed up and gone, which meant I couldn't get my car back for the weekend! I walked back home and discovered I did have a second key, fortunately. So I had a neighbor run me back down there to get my car. Monday morning I took it back down there. Joey did not apologize for the poor customer service on Friday. He just said yeah we got all your messages. I left it all day Monday and finally got a call that they can't figure it out, take it somewhere else. 3 days they had my car! It would have been 5 days if I hadn't figured out how to get it back. I won't be back.

Last August, after an engine failure on the highway 178, we brought the car to Kern River Automotive. They were adorable and took the time to help us, diagnosed the vehicle and explained us the best solution for the current issue. We came from Clovis Calif to Wofford Heights for vacation. My car decided to not want to run properly. So I went on the hunt to find a repair shop, I can upon Kern River Automotive. What an AMAZING Mechanic JAKE was. He stopped his shop work and came right out to me, and began checking my car out. Went and retrieved his Code Reader and began searching. In a matter of under 25 minutes he told me the problem and fixed it ASAP. In this day and age the service I was given today By Master Mechanic JAKE was absolutely above and beyond. Thank you JAKE, for proving there are still really good, honest, caring and knowledgeable mechanics out there. I will always use your service anytime I am in the area needing car repairs. The price of $8 a piece to get rid of my old tires kind shock me. Other than that they did a great job the prices were very fair I highly recommend them .

I always get my tires here they are fast they are professional and when I need a new motorhome tires I called half a dozen places in Bakersfield and still got a better price here local from these guys

NEVER and I mean NEVET!! go to this pkace!! They caused serious damage to my tires by not having their alignment machine working! They didn't reschedule an appointment...they just allowed me to drive around with NO alignment....OMG!!by the way my tires cost $300 EACH!!!

Frankie and the guys here are amazing! Was on a little getaway when my check engine light came on over the weekend. Brought my car in with no appointment, and they had no issues with that. They saw I needed a new part for my car and it was already past the deadline to be able to get the part the same day. I needed to get back to LA by early morning, and they went out of there way to go get the part themselves and get me back on the road THAT NIGHT. I don't know of any other autoshop that would do that. Fair prices, kind people, good work. What more could you ask for. Thank you so much!

I've brought in my car three times for different issues and each time I've left a happy customer. The staff is friendly, honest and very helpful. All of my questions/concerns were addressed without 'talking down to me' (blonde and a woman), and I appreciate that! The prices are reasonable, too. Now operated by Kern River Auto. Frank does great work. I have had a timing belt replaced, full tune up, and several oil leaks fixed. Great family run business and very courteous and informative about the problem and cure. My car is a 1999 Subaru Outback.
