About 4 months ago, I bought a 2006 VW Jetta TDI with 171,000 miles. Within a week, the transmission control module had failed and my car wouldn’t go into anything other than 1st gear. New TCM unit being $1200 has hurt the pocket for awhile and we have been keeping an eye out for other options. We found a used transmission from ABC that was from a wrecked Jetta with 102,000 miles. We got it ordered and sent to Washington state for still less than a brand new TCM unit. Within 24 hours of placing my order, I received a call just to confirm that it was for the correct vehicle, along with confirming that it is a diesel. I thought that that was outstanding customer service. He then explained the policy on returns and asked about my project a bit. We got the transmission replaced and the transmission shifts WONDERFUL. My only complaint would be it was delivered on a rainy day and it wasn’t wrapped enough to be in a rainy state.. but then again it’s from Arizona. I would recommend giving them a shot, even in another state.
