Desert View Point is hands down one of the best spots to take in the Grand Canyon. The views are absolutely breathtaking, and you can see the canyon stretch for miles in every direction. I loved exploring the area, snapping photos by the iconic watchtower, and just soaking in the scenery. It’s a must-visit if you want a classic, epic Grand Canyon experience. ?✨
Don't waste your time here. The views get better and better as you go west. Spend all your time walking the Rim Trail from Mather Point to Yavapai Point.
Really great views of the eastern most point of the south rim of the Grand Canyon. There’s a lot of good restaurants up here. Great gift shop and the views of the Grand Canyon are quite stunning.
Desert View is a must-visit location in the Grand Canyon, not only for the breathtaking views but also for the historic Watchtower. We enjoyed learning about Native American culture through the information and carvings displayed inside the tower. The artwork on the walls was stunning. There was plenty of parking, and we also visited the gift shop. We even stamped our National Park passport here, showcasing the beautiful tower. The panoramic views from the top made our visit unforgettable.

We came to this Point without planning a head. Before sunset It was so good and I had to walk for 5min to reach the point from the parking lot They also have a store inside the fort. We can go upstairs but it was closed by the time we went.

I have not been to the North Rim but this Desert View Point is by far my favorite spot to see Grand Canyon. Unobstructed view, the artwork and charm of the watch tower adds beauty to the already beautiful Grand Canyon.
If you have a National Park pass it is free. If not it is $35. Ample parking. Make sure to secure your timed ticket if you wish to go up the tower. The artwork on the wall is worth the stairs. For the unobstructed view of Grand Canyon however turn to your left, plenty of good spots and benches there.
Once in a lifetime experience. Stay for sunset hours to have some great colors, although it would be as good during the day. What's more, there is a gas station next to this point, which is more than convenient
When you're visiting Grand Canyon, Desert View could be your last point, but please make sure that you don't miss it. It is very unique and the views of the river and the surrounding landscape are truly stunning! Parking lot is huge, there is also a gift shop and you can walk at different viewing points for different views. Sunset time is highly recommended at this location!
Desert View is the last view point if you arrive from the South Entrance. But this point is not the "last" according to the spectacular view. It is one of my favorit if I had to chose from all the South Rim view points. There is a Watchtower for a bit better view. I tried a couple times to take photos from the top of the tower, I must say no difference to take photo from the edge or from the tower.
