10 years fishing this lake. The water is clear, and the fish are there.
The right bait and you will take your limit home. We plan 2 to 3 days each year. Just got home yesterday and planning next year.
First time camping and went with some friends was a fun first experience would be a great first time for anyone we went memorial weekend 2024 was a bit crowded make sure to stock up on water,toilet paper/wipes, and blankets and also sunscreen git frosty on the nights and early morning
Beautiful but the road is rough. Don't speed because it is an open range road. You don't want to be responsible for killing someone's cow or a wild horse. Also you drive in about 10 miles before hitting lake. I did see cabins, not sure if private or rentals. There is a cash only store but I didn't see it.
It's really sad to see all of the cabins that had to be abandoned when they lost their leases. This could be a destination for families, but much of the lakefront is filled with decaying structures. I hope the tribe takes it over to either use it as a resource to generate money or as a place for their own use. It's a lovely spot, otherwise.
It's a great camping place, the view is amazing it was to bad there were some campers that had their music so loud all night and the ranger was not on site.
The lake and campground was very busy, but this may be due to the current closers in the area. The lake was pretty at sunset, we didn't have any luck fishing from shore. 6/17/22
On a church retreat what a fun place to go the wildlife was great butt the wind was crazy will go again next year...maybe. and cow that visit me Sunday morning and mooo at me iam a rancher too.the birds.
Fishing stinks, stay home. Just kidding. This place is beautiful. Bring a boat. Shore fishing was hard to get the bite. If you don't like cows, or cow piles, this is not the place for you. They visit often, even in the campground.
An peaceful area with a large lake and gorgeous huge trees. Bring some food along for a picnic. There are picnic tables and even charcoal grills if you want to cook some burgers or veggies. Spend an hour or a day. If you have a tent to spend the night, be warned it's cold near the water and probably some wildlife. There are definitely some peaceful cows in the area.
