I went to other scrapyards before and always had a terrible experience. I can happily claim that I found a good scrapyard to bring my metals to. The staff from the front all the way back to the end payout were all friendly, courteous and professional. The lot was clean too. If your on the fence about which scrapyard to take your business to - I highly recommend this company. I will return again. Thanks again
They arbitrarily deducted 10 lbs off my weight and didnt even bother to mention it to me at the scale. 10 lbs and they actually only measured 2 lbs. And then argued with me over it, and were apparently pursuaded to change it to 5lbd deducted instead. Why not just deduct the 2 lbs u actually measured and already deducted as part of the tare? So they insisted on burning me on 5 lbs deduction and took 40 min to argue with me and give me my money.
As if that werent bad enough, i had actually called ahead that morning and was told 100 a ton on scrap iron. After throwing my iron and getting to the window, i was so engaged with arguing over the 5lbs they insisted on screwing me over with the brass shells, that i didnt notice they had also screwed me over on the iron as well, paying me out at only 70 a ton. With a business model like that, you crooks can count me out. Zero stars.
New ownership is terrible.
All these new rules in place which resulted in me having to unload 1800lbs myself, by hand. I used to load pallets on my trailer with a forklift, and their guys would unload it WITH A FORKLIFT. NOT ANYMORE. Afterwards I waited at the window 15 minutes to get my check.
Not to mention the inspector in the yard does not communicate well.
I closed my account today because southwest ripped me off, I brought over 600 pounds of painted aluminum and did not get paid what was fair price. Management and workers team up against you to steal your material.
Customer service is awesome here, friendly and helpful office and yard workers. They've even given us a jump when our truck died. Worth building a relationship with this scrap yard.
This new company that took over Glendale iron metal is a sham. These people rip-off hard-working people. I recommend to never go here. There are too many other places that will be more honest.
Not recommended. My company used to use these people in the past and they always shorted me on weight. So yesterday I took some 954 Aluminum-Bronze to them at 82 lbs. The first time they paid me for 2lbs, second time they paid me aluminum price ($0.75) for 80 lbs and the scrap price for aluminium-bronze should have been $1.45 per pound.
