Beware! We got a quote from them ($625 to tow 45 miles) - agreed to it and paid it. A half hour before we expected our tow truck driver, they called said they calculated it wrong and wanted us to pay $200 more dollars cash to the driver. We said no that we already paid and had an agreed-upon amount and so they try to stick us with a 50% cancellation fee. We again said no we agreed on it and already paid it and now you are changing the terms. We called another towing company whose bill was actually $100 less than the original quote from A1. Very sad they used these tactics….
Avoid A1 Recovery and Towing at All Costs: Unprofessional and Aggressive Behavior
I had an absolutely unhinged experience with A1 Recovery and Towing that I feel compelled to warn others about.
I had a reservation for a vehicle through this business. When I arrived during their stated business hours, I knocked, no answer. I assumed the office was closed so I got in the vehicle I had rented, drove away.
Out of nowhere, I received a phone call from the owner, who immediately escalated to aggressive, irrational behavior. He accused me of stealing the vehicle I had a confirmed reservation for and threatened to call the police on me. This was not a misunderstanding, this was pure hostility and intimidation over something that could’ve been resolved with a simple, professional conversation.
I’ve never been spoken to in such an unmoored and threatening manner by someone in a customer-facing business. It was not just unprofessional, it was unsettling.
Do yourself a favor: take your business C & A Pet & Livestock Supply. They were super helpful and descent and operate with integrity, professionalism, and basic human decency. A1 Recovery and Towing does not.
Absolutely killed it. Truck broke down and insurance wouldn’t accept any drivers in Laramie out of network (there are none for State Farm) had to wait for hours. Bypassed insurance called these guys right away picked us up and got my truck there fast and safely. Awesome work!!
Staff recovered our cell phone which was great. However it's sad that they ripe off insurance companies for tow and outrageous storage fees. They kept raising the fee to my insurance $1,000 every time they tried to pick up the vehicle. WY state person I called to ask about the fees said all the tow Co. get together and set these crazy fees. Sad this industry feels they can treat people this way. They are not just getting the insurance Co. They are affecting the public by driving up insurance cost.
Needed a project car towed to a storage spot and these guys were able to do it for me about an hour after they called. Showed up, we had a good talk about cars and stuff, and they towed it out there. Great guys doing great work at an easy price point. Much appreciated!
On a messed up, snowy evening where they were up to their eyeballs in alligators, Shane from A1 was able to get my truck out; thanks! And thanks to Tim (great mechanic) at TJ's Automotive for referring A1 to me.
