Took our $$ for reservation of large house then cancelled our reservation 1 week prior to us having a family reunion… haven’t received refund yet… guess will have to decline charges on credit card if I can… they have been a great place for our family for a number of years to stay when we ride buggies in nearby mountain trails… so sorry to see it is now CLOSED!!

We absolutely love coming to the Albany Lodge in Wyoming, however this year our reservation was canceled without any reassurance of reimbursement. I feel that many others have had the same experience with no resolution from Albany Lodge. Just a couple of weeks ago they were encouraging everyone to make reservations and that the rumors of closing were not true. They have turned off comments on their social media and deleted them as well. There's no contact from the Lodge at all. They have just disappeared and from the looks if it, with all the customers deposits. I truly hope they will make things right with the people who support them. After the 30 days of waiting for our refund, I'll be pursuing other options to get what is ours back.

It wasn't very nice of you to cancel our atv rental 2 nights before we stay with you. We have also stayed with you for 5 years now. Also not cool for not refunding our down payment. Also NOT very nice to post on Facebook on June 11 that the "rumors" of the lodge closing are not true when in fact they were.

Even if this place is temporarily closing, being sold, or shutting down indefinitely, the amount of damage done to their reputation and personal relationships cannot be undone. How you treat your guests while going through a tough time is still important and unfortunately the lodge has completely fumbled it.

Definitely don’t recommend the Albany Lodge. My family has frequented here for many years now and it was quite the rude awakening when we all received emails about our atv & cabin rentals being canceled one evening before we leave to head up there. Our reservations have all been booked for well over 1-2 months. I think what’s the most upsetting is that the Albany lodge just posted about them not being closed and encouraging everyone to get rentals online. They’re not refunding deposits, they’re completely ghosting any point of contact, and a lot of us are out over 300s of dollars each. It is absolutely absurd & has left my entire family - 12 people - scrambling to figure something else out. It’s unfortunate that the lodge was having issues of some sort that they had to close their doors so suddenly but in the email they sent out it also states it as a “temporary” closure. It wouldn’t have been so upsetting if the lodge would’ve reached out even a week ago about canceling our reservations rather than the evening before.

Kat and Logan, in the bar/restaurant were wonderful. The Farmhouse pizza was super yummy. The Fried Pickles.. a great starter. Kat made me a Crown Apple Whiskey Sour, so refreshing. Jenn the Lodge manager was super friendly, efficient, down to earth. The Lodge is Off the beaten path and definitely worth a stop or stay.

Great experience. Super helpful and friendly staff! Rooms could us a remodel/update, but good enough for what you need them for up there. You don't go up there to spend a bunch of time in your room?.

My 13-year old son and I stayed at the Albany lodge for a snowmobiling trip. We we checked in on Sunday, March 23rd and were scheduled to checkout on Friday, March 28th. We were basically the only folks left at the lodge. It was like a ghost town due to it being so late in the season. The weather was warm and the snow was melting rapidly. On Tuesday afternoon, March, 25th, we experienced a mechanical breakdown of one of our snowmobiles. I made the decision to rent a snowmobile from the Albany lodge rental department for the following day and then cut our trip short.||I went to the lodge first thing Wednesday morning to let them know that we would be checking out on Thursday morning instead of Friday morning. Kat (Katherine), assisted us with the reservation changes. I asked her if we could not be charged for the Thursday night stay due to the circumstances. She went to the Manager named Dayton to ask. He said no. I asked her to consider our circumstances and to see if he could please help me out. She went to Dayton and asked. Again, he said no.||1) - We gave them ample notice (at least 24-hours). 2) - There was (1) other guest staying in the entire lodge! This includes, hotel rooms, cabins and suites. There was never a question of room availability. I can understand if it was in the height of the busy season and they may not have been able to rent the room to someone else, but as mentioned above, we were the only ones there! I even spent $400 with them for a snowmobile rental on Wednesday. ||The rental department folks were great, (Shawn and Andrew...Thank you!), the bartender (Michael) and waitress (Kat) were super friendly nice folks. There was anothe lady waitressing/bartending that told me she originated from Vegas but I did not get her name.....she was super nice too. The Lodge menu was OK but way over priced. ||I will not return to the Albany Lodge and spend another dollar with them on sheer principle. It isn't the $150.00 I cannot get back, but it is the fact that Dayton (Albany Lodge Manager) was unwilling to even consider our circumstances. I may snowmobile in Albany in the future, but will probably stay in Laramie and drive back and forth where there are better, lower cost food options and lodging choices. ||I could go on in greater detail of other abnormalities, but it would only detract from my main issue. If anyone decides to consider the Albany lodge for their next stay, it will be a good idea to study the reviews carefully before making any commitment....buyer beware.|||James

Obviously great location. Website and in room menu say restaurant open until 9. Even called ahead and made sure I made it by 8. I get it that these guys want to wrap up and go home but when you’re isolated in the middle of nowhere you kinda need to be able to count on food being available. Arrived at 7:50, cook was done and decided to close early. In room menu says “bar open while guests remain or until 2 am.” Bartender said last call at 8. One pillow per bed, Tiny bathroom, cleaner folded TP roll to look like it’s fresh, Quite obvious that owners are milking every dime they can while paying staff the minimum. I’ll go to Centennial next time.

I’m reviewing the restaurant/bar only. Absolutely the worst service I’ve ever experienced. Servers and bar tender literally wouldn’t even look at you to acknowledge your presence. My wife and I ended up leaving after getting no menu, no drinks, no nothing… Several others were in the same boat and we ended up seeing them in Centennial. Won’t be back and we’re locals. Good thing it’s for sale, maybe they’ll fix it.

Our family came up from Texas! This place was highly recommended by the owner of our VRBO in Loveland, Colorado. We had such a great time. The staff were friendly and very welcoming. We even met one of the bartenders who’s a fellow Texan!

My husband and I have been going to Albany Lodge for pizza lunch nearly every Sunday for about the last 6 years and this summer's Sundays have been really quite disappointing. For approximately a month this year, the pizza dough was not prepped the night before, so pizza was not an option. There also has not been chicken available several of these times, at which point we ate appetizers for our meals. The fried appetizers have still been cold or soggy at times.. this has dictated which appetizers we now order, if any at all. The beer taps have been out of order literally all summer. So then, this weekend, my husband was told again that the taps weren't an option. He asked for another beer, they were out. And another, out of that too. Finally had the third one he asked for. Unfortunately it must also be hard to get and keep staff so, at times, the staff seem snappy and the service has not been great. This weekend was no exception. After paying our tab, my husband told the server, 'Thank you' to which they replied, 'Yep.' as they were walking away. We spend over $100 up there nearly every weekend and, I'm sorry to say, we are now going to stop going. It's just not worth it. Too bad. Place is really lovely.

We brought out our own side by side and quads and stayed in the BoxCar Cabin for a few days and Loved it! The food at the lodge was great, the trails were beautiful, and the weather was amazing. Definitely plan to come out again sometime.

I booked Gregory House for a week and spent almost 3 thousand dollars. |It was advertised NO pets. However when we arrived pet hair was everywhere. |Ants and spiders were taking over the place.|Every morning about 6 am an old diesel truck parked just outside our bedroom window was started and ran for over an hour. There was an old man sleeping and trying to stay warm. |In the front yard a travel trailer was parked with junk all around it. |Apparently, the nasty old man living in this trailer without water or electricity is the owner of Gregory House. He has a contract with Albany Lodge to rent on his behalf. |He has a key to the house and comes and goes as he pleases with his dogs. He watches to see when guests leave and helps himself inside. I guess that explains all the pet hair. |When the issues were brought to the manager (Dalton) just excuses were given with no resolve. |He explained to me that the old man received the property in a divorce settlement and they were helping him. |There is no upkeep or maintenance on the house. The faucets are literally falling off and no lightbulbs are replaced. No smoke detectors. |One bathroom has a shower so tiny you cannot even turn around in it. My RV shower is bigger. The other bathroom has NO door so no privacy at all. There is no shower but instead an old outdated jacuzzi tub that is disgustingly nasty and the faucets are barely attached. |I believe a partial refund should have been given but nothing was offered except excuses. |I cannot recommend and will definitely not go back.

This is our 4th stay here. Our #1 reason for coming back is the location. You can spend hours on all the trails, so much too see. This time we stayed in Willow Cabin. It was perfect for the 6 of us. The other cabins are just okay could use some updating, mostly the beds. We just booked our 5th stay hoping that the trapper cabin will be comfy.

Super disappointed this trip with the UTV rentals. We have never had problems ever coming here. We love coming here every year and usually have 5 star experience. We have also rented from here before as well. This time we had my elder grandparents who rented a side by side. The side by side over heated because the radiator was not washed out. They had wasted an hour of their time trying to fix something that could have easily been prevented. When we tried to tell one of the employees he responded very disrespectful and rude. He did not care about the situation and was unprofessional. Very disappointed because we love coming here!!!

Rented an ATV for a half day today; not staying at the lodge. The whole experience is 5 stars! Communication, safety briefing and the check in process is great. The machine was in excellent condition; had a GPS map and my husband, small dog Jasper and I had a great time! We want to come back again and next time stay in the cabins. We are from CO and are lucky we found this place only 3.5 hours from our house!

Went in for prime rib on Saturday night. The band "Coveralls" was excellent! The service was terrible and food was okay! Mashed potatoes came out with no gravy, baked potatoes didn't have butter or sour cream, some steaks were raw still. They had plenty of wait staff but it looked like staff were not properly trained to handle a full house. We have been in the lodge yearly for many years, tonight's service was just okay! Again, excellent choice in band "The Overalls "! Would have loved to stay and drink more beer, but getting a beer was a struggle and service overall was not good.

We did not stay there, we rented snowmobiles for half a day. We had a lot of fun. The snow equipment they provided was great quality and kept us warm on one of the coldest days of the year. My only issue was that we were inexperienced and got stuck a couple times. We called for help and then later charged $100 each time for them to help us! And when he did, he was rude! That should have been explained up front.

Spent a few days staying in the hotel at Albany Lodge. I did a snowmobile riding clinic. Great location. Ride out from the lodge at the start of the trail. Room was clean and everything worked. It was nice having a restaurant and bar on location. Kudos to Aubrey who was working the front desk, bar, and dining area without missing a beat. My riding instructor Rich did a great job during the clinic. He kept me just outside my comfort zone allowing me to progress in my riding ability all day. End it up riding over 60 miles in a variety of terrain. I am definitely planning on going back.

We stayed here for a snowmobiling trip and had a great time. If you enjoy trail riding, this is a great place to stay! The lodge had great food and service. We had Ian as our server a couple times and he was great! We stayed in the Rancher cabin and it was clean and cozy. We were a little disappointed in the bed though, it wasn’t the most comfortable. Overall we had a great stay and hope to be back soon.

In our room, there was a very loud noise all night long off and on we were in room number two could not get much sleep. The room itself was clean. The staff at the restaurant was fantastic. They were short of help for how many people they were trying to serve but the girls did a very good job. We will be back.

I booked a cabin online and on the phone to confirm. When I called to confirm my RSVP the day before I was told that I was booked a hotel room instead. I had a friend fly out from WV to stay in a cabin. We also rented two 850 Khaos sleds. When we went to pick them up they said they were out of 850’s and we would have to take the 650’s instead. I specifically wanted to try an 850 as we were doing some fairly extensive back country riding and I already own a 650. I didn’t need to spend $1000 on a 650 when I could have bought mine instead. I was also charged for two 850s not one 650! That did get straightened out though. The staff was very friendly, but I can’t say much positive about the rest of the services. I have stayed at Albany on several occasions and have clocked 1000 miles I would guess so I’m not nit picking by any means. I was told a manager would call me back to discuss the multiple mistakes and have never heard back. I love it up there but this experience was very disappointing. I may be rethinking lodging and rentals from now on.

We rented a snowmobile for the morning and had a great time. The staff was excellent! They helped us first timers get checked out on the use of the machine, trails and even recommended a couple of routes. After our ride, we stopped into the cafe for a snack and the service was excellent there as well. We will definitely be going back!

Recently did a snowmobile rental and dinner at the lodge with my son. Very happy with the service, the quality of the rental equipment, and the food/drinks at the restaurant. I felt welcomed and comfortable! I will be back for another adventure and would consider staying at a cabin sometime in the future.

We absolutely loved our time at the Albany Lodge. A large group of us had traveled from North Carolina to Wyoming to go to a football game (go App State!). We had an extra day in the schedule, so I booked a guided tour of the Snowy Range on UTV's through Albany Lodge. What a great experience! We arrived early to have lunch at the Lodge, and were rewarded by the best food during our trip (in my opinion). The steak sandwich was really, really great, and the Little Mermaid cocktail did not disappoint. We didn't stay at the lodge, as we had a house in Laramie, so I can't speak about the Lodge. After we got geared up, Sam, our guide, confessed that it was his first paid gig as a guide! He did an awesome job, having grown up there and been on the mountain numerous times. We did have a couple of equipment snafu's, but Sam took it all in stride and was an excellent guide. He was very patient with the newbies (almost all of the group), and handled the little issues efficiently. We didn't get to see the elk or moose that had been seen recently, but I did get pictures of an incredibly beautiful reservoir lake, mountains and even elk poop. lol. I highly recommend a guided tour if you have a group of people who are new to side-by-sides, or if you just want to relax and let somebody else do the thinking (and map-reading). I cannot praise Sam or Albany Lodge highly enough for providing us with memories that will last a lifetime!

Sam was our guide for our 4x4 half day ride and he was awesome! He was so kind to our group and a true professional the whole day. He was very knowledgeable about the National Forest and went above and beyond for our group. Would highly recommend the experience and with Sam as your guide, it would be top notch! Additionally, we had lunch and post ride beers at the lodge restaurant and both the service and food were 5 stars! Couldn’t have had a better day at Albany Lodge!

We had a wonderful time. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The tracks are well groomed and easy to follow, keeping in mind we only went on the beginner trails. There was always someone nearby just in case help was needed. The snowmobile’s were well equipped and well maintained. And the view of the Medicine Bowl national forest is magnificent. We would recommend anyone who wants to try snowmobiling at Albany Lodge.

The snowmobiling and our guide were definitely 5 stars. I'd give it more stars if I could. We had a blast and he took us to some great places. The equipment was in great condition. Our room in the lodge was very nice and appropriate for this setting. It was very clean, warm with plenty of hot water after a long day of sledding in the snow. The lodge would get 4 stars. The restaurant, however, was disappointing and only gets 2 stars. Very friendly staff but the food was not very good (way to salty) and they completely messed up my son's order and brought out the wrong meal. And then they charged me for that (more expensive order). They made the bill right but it was a comedy of errors. Then, there were issues with the simple breakfast we ordered the next day. Maybe we just caught the staff on a bad weekend but we went to Laramie for the rest of our meals.

My husband and I rented a snowmobile at Albany Lodge and we had the best time! The staff were all friendly and helpful. The bar/restaurant was great. The convenience store on site had a variety of fun and useful items at good prices. The snowmobile was a fantastic machine and there were tons of gorgeous trails to explore. I need to mention the staff members again- the customer service was truly phenomenal. We will definitely be going back!
