The owners are soo nice, understanding, his wife answered, he came picked up car/truck (both) times..but never had another problem with the issues again. Very well clean establishment unlike others dirty, greasy etc ..I went here the 1st time and liked them and there work ethics and will return if I'm ever in another closed corner so to speak. Great work, great place and are super friendly ???????
One of our customers was having an issue with a vehicle we sold them. Since they are from outside of our area we sent them to their local repair shop. Automax was fantastic. Hollie was extremely professional and pleasant to deal with. Their Technicians diagnosed the check engine light and had it repaired quickly for far less than most other service centers charge. I am very impressed with the way they handle things. They are very honest and make the most of your experience there. Prices are very reasonable and best place I have ever gone to, they are now my only go to place to service my vehicle. I had a very interesting issue on my SUV and they let me pretty much decide what I wanted to try to fix first in the situation. Very easy to work with and I deffinently recommend them for ur vehicle needs.
Both the phone call experience and in person experience was phenomenal. She was so polite and detail oriented about the process of my tow from one side of Shawano to another. However I wasn't present for the pick up or drop off of my car. Dropped off the key the day prior and they handled the rest.
The front desk attendant is very pleasant the mechanic was quick to the point and very helpful they also provide a great service in helping people diagnose issues for a fair price I always go there when I have the money. Keep up the good work folks. Ty jason rosario.
Service work was good, but did not repair what was promised at time of purchase of our truck. A sensor went bad one day after we purchased a truck, we where told it would be fixed for free, but when we took the truck into be fixed, they told us we would be charged for the repair. Don't trust this place, it was sold at the end of 2019 and the new owners are less than helpful.
Horrible! Charged nearly twice the quote and then proceeded to say the oil was a quart low! You would think for 1,000$ you could throw a quart of oil in it!!! Funny he says we had a chance to question the bill when he had many chances to call and say it was more than they originally expected since he had the truck for several weeks. Not to mention it was very unprofessional to send a nasty text when you didn't like my review. Reviews are not just here to leave good comments.

I attended the Iola Wisconsin Car Show on Saturday 6/12/17 and on the way home to Green Bay my 2004 Subaru Forester's electrical died. A fellow car show attendee gave my battery a jump and I managed to make it to Clintonville, where my car died again. I called my auto insurance company at 5pm and they called AutoMax in Shawano to tow my car to a repair shop in Clintonville.
Not to much later Ryan with AutoMax arrived and was very helpful. We towed my car and we found that the Clintonville repair shop had already closed, so Ryan offered to tow my car to their shop in Shawano. We arrived at AutoMax in Shawano and I called a friend in Green Bay to come pick me up.
On Monday, as expected, it was determined that the alternator had failed and needed replacing. I authorized Ed, the shop's owner and Ryan's father, to also replace the battery (as I was planning to before winter anyway) and to replace the alternator belts (which had never been done). Later they also found that a belt pulley was bad (which I was aware of as it was making a lot of noise) and the main radiator hose was bulging and needed to be replaced.
On Tuesday I had a friend in Green Bay drive me to Shawano and I picked up the car. The cost was reasonable and I have been very pleased with my car's performance since that weekend. I have not had any issues.
I found AutoMax to be very friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. I highly recommend their service. Thanks Ryan and Ed for the great work!
I want to thank Ed and his staff for saving my family from having to drive from Appleton to pick me up in Shawano today!
On my way to Shawano from Appleton, I heard loud cracking and banging underneath my vehicle. I immediately lost all steering and my dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree. Luckily, I was able to continue driving to Keshena where I asked someone for a mechanical recommendation.
This person recommended Automax, so I called immediately. I was told to bring my vehicle into the shop right away. I arrived and they looked at it immediately. The mechanic, Ed, determined a belt slipped, which he was able to repair on the spot for a very modest fee.
For the last 10 years I have only used one mechanic in Appleton that I trust, because I've had many poor experiences with mechanics in the past. I've been gouged for unnecessary repairs and had mechanics cause more damage than they fixed. On top of that, I drive Kia. Not all mechanics like or know how to work on Korean cars. Before taking my vehicle to Automax, I feared my experience today would only add to the long list of mechanics I have fired over the years.
However, I had nothing to fear! Automax demonstrated there are good mechanics in this world! I would feel comfortable going back to Automax and recommending them to other stranded Appletonians.
I have been a customer of AutoMax Service Center for a few years now. I firmly believe they are more than fairly-priced, they treat their patrons very well, and strive for the utmost customer satisfaction.
