I don’t normally leave reviews, but i thought i would this time. This shop is great! They go above and beyond for their customers and their labor rate is very reasonable, possibly the best in the area. Dont be expecting a flashy shop with a waiting room and snacks, but the mechanics do a great job and are very honest! I will definately be taking my cars here in the future.
Unbelievably bad experience. Brought my van in for it's appointment to get a timing belt replaced. Almost 1.5 days later I called to check in was told (by Al, the owner I presume) that the car was on the lift with the wheels off and nothing had been done because the mechanic (Kendall) was having car trouble of his own and had not made it to work. NOTE - The long time Mechanic (Mike) had retired after 37 years last fall and I'm guessing he's how there reputation has been built. Al said he would have it off the lift by noon. I showed up at 12:15 and he was backing it out. He scraped the rearview mirror in the process and you could see the red paint from the building on it. I got in and there were a slew of error codes. Also a bunch of the plastic guards and covers from the vehicle had not been installed. Al told me to rent a car and he would cover the cost. He recommended I take the vehicle elsewhere to get the belt done. I got a ride home and got a call a couple hours later that the codes were clearer and it was ready to pickup. Kendall was apologetic and said he hoped the experience hadn't left a bad taste in my mouth. He hadn't even installed all the clips and screws back in and had them in a jug in the van.
I made an appointment last week. I dropped my car off on Thursday he told me he would try to have it done by the end of my work day. I popped in at 1:20 and it would be ready in 10 minutes. Shortly, the gentleman came in, wrote up my bill. The total was what was quoted. Happy girl. Happy car.
Called all over to have a part installed in my 2013 Mazda that I had purchased on Amazon. Nobody else around would help me out. These guys didn't hesitate. Got me in quick, charged me a fair fee for the labor and got me out the same day. Saved me hundreds of dollars! Thanks so much.
I have been to Automotive Perfection a few times since moving to Madison. They are my go-to for maintenance/repairs. Very honest, knowledgeable, and do the work for a fair price. Kendal is reassuring and good with customer service.
I had called and left a message stating all of my information and when they called back the man on the phone was very rude.
I asked if they could do a heater core flush and his response was I guess. I then asked if they had any openings for the week and he laughed stating they are full until next Tuesday. I then asked if there was anyone they could reference me to or help me; yet again he laughed at said no why would I do that.
I tried and will never try with this place again.
Al and Mike have been wrenching on my vehicles since i got my drivers license. They also now work on all of our company work trucks. I have never been disappointed in their quality of work or their incredibly fair prices. Automotive Perfection is the best in the business and i wouldn’t think about going anywhere else for service. They are highly skilled mechanics and great guys.
Glad I read and followed reviews! This is not your squeaky clean spacious dealership. This is an honest repair shop with honest people that give you a fair deal. Highest possible recommendation.
Automotive Perfection is the only auto shop I trust. Been here many times for a multitude of issues throughout the years. Every time these guys look for the best deal and offer me used parts options when they can. They have literally saved me over a thousand dollars for the rear wheel drive issue I was having once. Figured out the issue in a matter of hours after I had taken my vehicle to multiple places and couldn’t figure out what was wrong. They are a no nonsense, find you the best deal kind of place.

This was my first time using this local mechanic shop, and am overall very pleased with the quality of work they put into my vehicle. I took my Silverado in for a pickup tube O-ring replacement due to scary low oil pressure that caused loud ticking at idle, the guy working the counter was very polite and welcoming, he called me back with an estimate for labor and parts quickly and at a very convenient time also. When I received my truck the oil pressure problem was fixed perfectly, felt so much better to drive, and purred like a kitten, and the one other mechanic even filled up my tires which was very thoughtful, and I swear my brakes feel better too. And the price and time it took for the repair was perfect, and well worth the quality of work they put into my vehicle and how well they took care of me. Overall I give them a 5 star review and would totally recommend using them for your automotive needs. I know I will come back if I ever need work done to any vehicle.
Ok, 20 years ago these guys were recommended to me and I will never go anywhere else. One of my very first experiences was with a faulty alternator and thought that this would be the standard couple hundred dollar event that I had gotten from the other guys in the past. At a time when I could not afford much in life. They called to say it was done and holding my breather I asked how much? they had a price the fraction of the other guys... I was like what? Mechanic said, you only need new brushes in the alternator not a new alternator. The car ran for another 100,0000 miles with no problem with the alternator again. These guys know me not because I am there a lot but because of all the people that I had referred to them over the years. Theses guys are the real deal not parts changers! we run out cars to high mileage... we recently lost out 1997 car not to mechanical failure but to a car accident! they kept it running like a top!
I appreciate the honesty. Mike really researched what was wrong with my car and explained the problem in precise detail. They are hard working and give you a fair price which is something not seen very often any more.
Wonderfully competent gentleman who quickly found what was just an electrical issue that was preventing my tranny fr9m shifting correctly. $50 and I was on my way! Everyone else was ready to assume it was the transmission! Kudos!
They fixed my car, did a good job and allowed me to keep the car there while making payments to hat it back. The rate they quoted before fixing it is the exact amount of the bill. Plus, they are very friendly. Thank you!!

These guys are real mechanics and haven't tried to hose me, ever. For example when I had them check the brakes they told me the front ones were toast ( I knew that) but the rear ones could wait rather than replace them early. I didn't want to write this review for fear of them getting too busy for me but they deserve the credit.
When it comes to repairs don't take your car anywhere else. Drive the extra mintues it takes. They do great work, and a resonable price. We've taken our cars other places and they charge $200-$500 more for the same service and we end up take the car back because they never fix the issue. They are a very small business and can sometimes be busy and not that great at communication. But it's worth it when your car is in great shape and so is your wallet!
