I had a stuck lug nut that I just couldn't get off myself. When I called for a quote, they couldn't give me a price range without seeing it first, which initially made me nervous about being overcharged. Even when I arrived, the mechanic was hesitant to commit to a price—but it turned out they did the work for free! I’ve had a minor issue here in the past with an oil change (requested full synthetic but received a blend), but this honest and helpful experience definitely earned back my trust. I'll be giving them another chance in the future.

Been taking my vehicle here for 5 years. They are competent, honest and reasonably priced. Can't ask for more than that.

We took our 1969 Nova for a front end alignment after we had it done somewhere else. Pulled to the right really hard they changed us $300. At Wise Guys Dave did the work on the car from the receptionist to the work being done an excellent job done thanks a lot. And for a lot less money.Steven and Nancy

Had a performance exhaust system drop shipped to Wise Guys. Set up an appointment for 10 this morning. Was installed in about 20 minutes for very reasonable price. I appreciate their service in all ways and pricing!

I've debated on writing this or not. For a long time. I found this shop through my mother. She'd been very happy with them for a number of years. My mother's happiness and loyalty to want to stick with a smaller shop like this I wanted to find one to feel the same about. So I brought my car to them, despite it being about 45 minutes away from me. At first an oil change and some small regular maintenance things like that. Great, timely, very reasonable prices. She had brought her car to them and they had been great to her on diagnosing problems. So, when my car started overheating > I called Wise Guys. I explained what was happening, and voiced my concerns that it could be an issue with the thermostat, water pump etc and was sure to include why those made sense to me. No, I am not a mechanic, but I know that often times customers give the worst information of what's going on with their vehicles. That is not me. I do have at least a bit more than a general understanding of things since I grew up helping my dad (former mechanic), and brother (currently a mechanic > but too far away) work on the family cars. I dropped my vehicle off after hours and wrote all the info on the drop slip as well. (Nearly verbatum from my initial phone conversation to make sure they could handle this issue) When I was told what was 'wrong' with my vehicle, I was told it was a radiator cap. > this didn't feel right, but I'm not the mechanic. I asked some questions about this to help me understand and clarify how they decided it was that vs the water pump etc... the lady who runs the phone/desk began arguing with me that "no, it can't be those things because *this* is what you said is happening (was not at all what I said was happening) , and that means it's the cap." She then read off of my drop off slip to me, and it was not what she had just argued I had said. Right on the drop slip I wrote "I'm concerned it might be the water pump, thermostat or heater core" exactly what I had just said on the phone, and she told me I did not say ?, and continued to dig in and argue. She made clear that she told the guys who do the work> the wrong information. So, from my understanding then, they didn't even consider checking anything else. Especially not the things I was concerned about. Because this person decided to give the wrong information. I was in a position that all I could really do was pick up my vehicle and trust that the mechanic got it right. At this time I requested the "bad" radiator cap back. I wanted to know for the future what a bad cap might look like so I could potentially avoid bringing a car in for something so trivial. She stated the guys were all gone from the shop and she'd have them set it aside for me tomorrow and give me a call. This never happened. Well. It wasn't the radiator cap. It was the water pump. I know that it's not always easy to diagnose an issue with a vehicle. I'm no stranger to that. BUT, when you have someone sitting there arguing with you and that states they clearly did not pass along all of the pertinent information needed to properly diagnose the troubles, that's not mistakes or oopsies. That's a blatant failure and one that for me nearly cost me the engine in my vehicle. And has cost this shop at least 2 customers. Hopefully something changes and in the future whoever is handling the intake portion of things actually passes along the correct information from the customer and not whatever they decide to pre-diagnose themselves, especially if they are not the mechanic, and haven't themselves witnessed/experienced the customers vehicle doing firsthand themselves.

Without a doubt the best mechanics I've ever had. I've got over 370K miles on my car, so believe me when I say I've talked to a lot of mechanics. I'm completely blown away by how honest and motivated these guys were. I've had so many other garages start off on the wrong foot by having someone who doesn't know cars handle their reception, but not here. Nancy is great. Always friendly and asks the right questions. She really drills down and makes sure to have all info they need. Dave, the owner, called me personally to brainstorm ways to get my car back up and running when we it had a difficult repair that I needed done ASAP. When I broke down near Johnson Creek, they were right on top of things. Helped me figure out the closest tow and got my car in asap. When I insisted on replacing the engine instead of scrapping the car, they didn't hesitate to get the job scheduled and made sure they had the right staff on hand to handle the project. Good people, great mechanics. If you've never had a mechanic who actually cared about your car before you need to call Wise Guys. The best.

Amazing…I had so much headache with my 92 Suburban but Wise Guys took the time to figure out what was really wrong with it after I had it at another shop and was told all kinds of big bad expensive news to the point I was going to send it to auction. The thing runs and shifts perfect, just like a new truck again with an inexpensive repair.

Our tire pressure light went on and we stopped to see if the tires could be checked. Within minutes the car was on a lift. A couple minutes after that, the car tires were checked to be ok, but the nice gentleman put more air in and did a recalibration then sent us back on the road. Super nice people and excellent customer service!! Totally recommend their shop!!

I've taken a couple different vehicles there and every time it's been a great experience. I thought I needed my breaks and wheel bearing changed but it ended up only being my wheel bearing. They are very honest, fast and very informal. Don't expect to get your vehicle in right away, due to their reputation and great service they are always busy. Worth the wait!

I was stranded, and limped my vehicle to them. They were very busy but Nancy was polite and professional, told me they would try to check out my tires when they can and call me. They called me, told me the price and fixed it the same day. I am very grateful to them, excellent service!

#1 Top choice for car repair! Dave, Paul, and Zack know everything needed to get you back on the road. Super fair pricing and do more behind the scenes to make sure your vehicle is safe. I drive 1 1/2 hours one way. Why??? Dave and crew are sincere and knowledgeable about what they do. They fix only what is needed and give you the option on what may be needed in the future. There is no up selling here... I feel fortunate to have found an honest, fair, and reliable auto service that truly takes care of your needs. They have serviced our vehicles for years and will continue to do so.

This business is the real deal. They go above and beyond to make sure your car is running in tip top shape. They're fair, honest, and easy on the pocketbook. They've come to my rescue, regarding car repairs, numerous times. Definitely the best in town!

Wise Guys have been our go-to for oil changes on my convertible. They never try to upsell as they're working on my car and give me a full report at the end that identify any potential trouble down the road. HONEST and TRUSTWORTHY SERVICE.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Always fast with their service or repairs. Offer insight on ways to maintain your car. Gone there for oil changes, rotations and to order tires. They always give solid information and don't try to upsell you on what you don't need. Highly recommend!

I've been bringing my cars here for the better part of a decade and Dave and his staff have always gone the extra mile to provide great service. Call ahead if you think you need emergency work...they are quite popular and their schedule can fill up fast, but they'll do their best to fit you in if they can.

I have been taking my vehicles to Wise Guy's for several years. They are always polite and professional. Wise Guy's also is honest not only about what needs to be done and what they can or cannot do for you. They also are very honest about what the repair priorities are, as well as the repairs that, due to the vehicles condition, perhaps shouldn't be done.

Fabulous and Thorough. I brought my Tahoe in for upper and lower ball joints. They also repaired a bent windshield wiper arm on the driver's side at the behest of a sticky note I attached to the dash. They didn't gouge me and they fixed it right the first time. I've only given one other five star review in all my years, but this one is definitely well earned.

Professional service it's all in the name Wise Guys, Dave and his team have done an awesome job on my car's engine! My car wouldn't be able to run if it wasn't for Dave's help. Thank you and your team for all your effort!

Dave is the most honest person I know. He is so intelligent! He always has the best advice. When I need to spread my budget out he can really give me great advice about how to approach all my car care needs. Even though I do not live in Columbus anymore, I will never have my cars serviced anywhere else. Even oil changes! Nancy, the extremely knowledgable receptionist, does everything she can to accommodate my crazy needs for a $29 oil change. This place is the model for how service should be done.

I have taken all of my vehicles to Wise guys for three years now. Best place I could have hoped to find. Friendly people and excellent work for a fair price. I moved 25 miles away from Columbus but will not change where I take my vehicles, thanks Dave!

Best service around hands down! I live in Oconomowoc and bring my vehicles there. It's worth it knowing it's done right and at a fair price. Dave, Paul and Zack know what they are doing and treat they're customers the way you would expect. I highly recommend. Keep up the good work!

I travel nearly 30 miles to service both of our vehicles at Wise Guys. Their shop is honest, friendly, very fairly priced, completes work on time, and does excellent work. It is really that simple. I would recommend them to anyone.

This is a very friendly, effective, and efficient place. My car lost its serpentine belt and water pump in the middle of the night, as I was going home about 75 miles from here.. Mr Weisman arranged his schedule to meet mine and got the job superbly done within a few hours. He even sent someone to pick me up at the hotel! I don't recall better service anywhere.

Wise Guy's in Columbus is the only auto shop I trust. The staff is friendly and Dave is the nicest, most helpful person I have met. Not only does he do everything he can to make mine and my boyfriend's auto experiences the best, but he also educates us on our cars and what he repaired! Recently I tried going to another car repair center, and they told me I needed to spend $2600 to fix my car. When I got a second opinion at Wise Guy's, they informed me half of the original quote was incorrect and quoted me at $913. They made the re-diagnosed repairs and my car is running great. I won't make the mistake of going somewhere else again. Thanks Wise Guy's! :)

Wise Guy's is the best, hands down. They're professional and provide fast, top quality service, all at a really reasonable price. I've taken my vehicle there multiple times for multiple types of jobs and I've never had any problems whatsoever. Dave, the owner, is a great guy. I don't know why anyone in the area would go to any other auto repair shop. Also, their bathroom is crazy nice and they have really good coffee.

Totally honest, incredibly nice, high-quality work, very reasonable prices. I just can't say enough positive things about Wise Guy's. I feel like a cheerleader here, but it's all true. The owner, Dave, has done the following wonderful things for my husband and I: 1) I needed new brakes on my old car. Dave not only found a rebate on new brakes, so I wouldn't have to pay as much, he filled out and mailed in the rebate slip FOR me. I got a cash card in the mail in a few weeks. Five star service!! 2) My husband and I were looking for a new vehicle. We found one we were interested in, 2 hours away from home, and were ready to buy as long as it cleared an inspection. We really, really wanted Dave to inspect it, but that day we were way behind schedule. Dave stayed open for us and inspected the vehicle long after his normal closing time... and charged us so little, at first I thought the bill was missing a zero. He was incredibly helpful in pointing out what was wrong with the car, how long it would take for certain things to become a problem, etc. His advice was invaluable, and we didn't buy the car. He could have told us to buy it, and then gotten us to pay him to fix all the stuff wrong with it. 3) We eventually bought a Ford truck and took it into Dave to have the brakes done. He told us we didn't need the brakes done, the truck had just been sitting awhile and the rust on the rotors would wear right off... and it did! Brakes were fine in a few days. He could have charged us to do unnecessary work, but he didn't. 4) Same truck. Before we bought it, we'd taken it to a Ford dealership (not the truck's seller) for a pre-purchase inspection. (We'd wanted Dave to inspect this one too, but we were way too far away for that to be feasible.) The Ford mechanic who inspected it found nothing wrong. A little later, Dave found plenty wrong-- he found bad ball joints and broken springs. He showed us exactly how bad they were, and the damage was obvious, so we know he wasn't lying. You know what that means? Dave did better work on our truck than FORD DID ON ONE OF THEIR BRAND'S OWN VEHICLES! Look, I don't know what else to say. There are other guys out there that will smile a lot and make you laugh and say all the right things, then screw you over. Time and time again, Dave has proven that he's not one of those guys. This world is full of so many jerks who just pretend to be good people, and they get rich and famous. Here Dave is, in a small town on a quiet street, actually BEING a good person, and it breaks my heart a little that he's not better off. You should give him your business. You will not regret it.
