Burn's saved our anniversary weekend. Got a flat tire (no spare, only a "repair kit") on the way to Albert falls on Sunday of Labor day weekend. We assumed the weekend would be consumed by dealing with this. Then we got ahold of Burns and he came out on his side-by-side, took the tire, replaced it, and was back in under 30 min! Saved us a tow and everything. Nicest man. What he charged us was well below the value his amazing service was worth to us (he could have easily taken advantage of us).
Our 2002 Chevy suburban was again having difficulties on the way out to Canadian Valley. It had been running really sluggish. We’ve had it checked by our regular mechanic before we came, but it kept losing power anyways. We stopped by the local NAPA store on Wednesday afternoonand got recommendations. They suggested we call Burns. He took us that day and came up with likely culprit and then got us back to our place in Canaan. Parts didn’t come in on Thursday, but they did come in on Friday. He Managed to figure out what was wrong and make the suburban run correctly. It was a jammed catalytic converter. He did a lot of work on the car in order to get to a working vehicle
He brought our vehicle back to us. It was now working as it supposed to. We’re now able to return home tomorrow with a functioning vehicle I can’t of asked for a better experience than this. He put his heart into fixing our car and we owe him a debt of thanks.
If you should run into problems with your vehicle when coming through Thomas, I would give him a call. (I called the other mechanic in the region and I am still waiting three days later for a return call.)
On our way up to Canaan the heater core went on our truck. Not only did Burns call us back, (other shop in Canaan did not return 2 calls) he got is in that day and had our vehicle turned around quickly and at a fair price! Awesome experience!!
Drove to Canaan from Ohio for the weekend. The mountain roads took a toll on our brakes and rotors. We found Burns Auto Care and couldn't be happier. With no appointment we stopped in and he told us if the local NAPA store had the parts, he would take care of us. And boy did they! In no time at all we were back on the road and smiling. The team was professional and fast. I highly recommend their garage. Pricing was very, very fair. Thank you all.
We showed up around 4pm on a Friday afternoon and he took us right away and repaired the puncture in our tire within minutes. So we were able to make the 2.5 hour drive home safely. Thank you!
Amazing service, above and beyond on a weekend!! We were faced being stranded with a badly running vehicle and received fantastic support and even an after hours pick-up so we could get back up to the mountain. And totally fair pricing for effort on a weekend, would give 6 stars if we could!
While on vacation, our van had low air in the tires, we went to fill up the tires and the valve stem broke. AAA put the donut on & told us there was no local shops for repairs. I searched and searched. Called This shop and the gentleman told us to bring it on over, no appointment needed. At this point the donut tire is getting low. He was so kind, prompt. Not only did he go get.a special part, once the tire was fixed, he called ahead and sent us to the Napa store to have all the sensors and computer reset, as his machine did not resister this one particular sensor (which of course was our van). Within an hour of being there we are fixed up, and now safe to drive back home to NC. I will always remember his kindness and if you need a place to go, Burns Auto is the best!
I have never given a review like this before. But Mr. Burns, the owner of this exemplary auto shop, went above and beyond to help me out, and fit me in without an appointment with an exhaust system that had become completely detached from the Muffler - and I had literally used wire from a coat hanger and a few pieces of duct tape to keep the entire system from falling off as I drove to his place of business. On a Saturday morning!
With expert machining, and welding, he solved a problem that would’ve cost me $1500 at a Volvo dealership, and he did it in an hour, and at the kind of fair pricing that we haven’t seen in this country in a long, long time.
As long as I am in West Virginia, I will go 100 miles out of my way to patronize this absolute gem of an auto shop
Was on a road trip down from Canada with friends when I punctured my tire on local side-road. Thankfully we were able to keep enough air in the tire to get us to Burns Auto Care where Ira and his brother saved the day. They had it plugged up and ready to go within 15 minutes.

Highly recommend. Was in town on vacation and took a wrong turn and ended up frame deep in a marsh on a hillside dirt road. He came to the rescue and got us back on our way in no time. Very kind and caring and went out of his way to help us!!
I went there to get my car inspected, because they are the only local shop that does inspections. Ira is super friendly and I was in and out in 15 minutes.
Ira answered the phone 4:15 Sunday night after car troubles that day. He kept the shop open to walk me through everything going on with the car, elevating it on a lift, test driving, etc. Great man and great service!
Loye was our guardian angel during our last visit to Canaan. While AAA could not send any one to help us for a day and a half of no car, Loye came to the rescue. With his trusty plug-in computer, he scanned all electronic devices, diagnosed low voltage from the battery, jumped started the engine and reset all the flashing alerts. He warned that the battery could be damaged and advised that we not rely on just the jump stare in lieu of a new battery. Sure enough, we didn’t drive far toward an auto parts store before the car died again. The next day, Sunday, Loye offered to drive to Oakland, MD to pickup a new battery and install it for us. This experience was not only expedient, but heartwarming despite the very polarized world we have created. Loye’s smiling face and determined spirit will forever remind us that good, kindhearted people who lookout for each other are everywhere and will help when they can. I blew a tire in the middle of the Dolly Sods and was desperate for one because I didn’t have a spare. A nice couple drove my partner and I to this shop and luckily they had a used tire to fit my rim. the tire still had pretty good trim on it too! matched pretty much the one I blew. The mechanic was so nice and helpful and was so compassionate towards my situation. only charged me $25 for the tire. truly great service!
Burns auto is a friendly service in Thomas west Virginia. On labor day the owner came and changed a tire on my jeep grand Cherokee under the bridge in Thomas west Virginia and today he unmounted a tire and Mount and balanced the tire. I would highly recommend Burns auto service in Thomas west Virginia to anyone.
We stopped into Burns Auto Care on our way through town after we had some brake issues. We were complete strangers who interrupted the owner and asked for much-needed help. He instantly said he would try to help and had our car up on a lift and started inspecting our brakes in a matter of minutes. He couldn’t have been a nicer guy who really helped us in a pinch. We will always be grateful for his help, honesty and kindness. We highly recommend!
