the old lady in there is so rude. don’t know why you haft to come up to someone with an attitude and tell them “you should have came and got it sooner” when something was taken out of your vehicle. could give 0 stars if was possible.

Had vehicle towed because of transmission failure and told them that. They proceeded to drive my car onto the rollback (barely making it) and then told me I needed a new transmission but it was drivable. Went and got my car (they don’t do transmissions) and broke down two miles up the road. Then called to get another tow and was told that they couldn’t right now to leave the car there and leave the keys in it. First of all. Absolutely not. Secondly, Lynn became aggressive and started shifting the blame onto me after I asked how my car got moved without the keys and she said “they picked it up”. How did you pick up a car? Forklift? Your strong, muscular men? All because a coworker was blocked in and they didn’t want to wait for 15 mins for me to get there. Shouldn’t have parked it there in the first place in my opinion. Needless to say they have lost alot of business because of this stunt. All family and friends know how crooked these people are now. It’s went down hill since Bill isn’t able to run the place. (I will add- I have been taking my cars there for 20+ years) never again. Do yourself and your car a favor, Call Copley’s instead.

Trump posters everywhere. As a person of the lgbt community I felt very unsafe and unwelcome.

Very rude and crooked people. Do not take your vehicle here. Don’t take anything here. Trust me. Lynn, do better. Edited to add: would not even give this place one star. Felt the need to point that out.

Poor service . I had went over to Chambers and told them about my car it didn't run . And the woman said that they would be out the next day but they never showed up . Then I had called them on the phone and ask them why , they said they had something else going on and again they said that would be out the next day . But one year later , I am still waiting.

They are crooked!! Do NOT take a vehicle here or let them tow anything. They will charge ridiculous prices. They towed my friends truck and was supposed to fix it, claimed the computer needed programmed and they couldn’t do it so they towed it to Dutch miller and left it, Dutch miller couldn’t fix it and they were supposed to pick it back up and tow it to a different garage, the left it sitting at Dutch miller for over a week then took it to a random garage and left it parked by the main road unlocked and didn’t notify my friend or where they left his truck, meanwhile while it was sitting at some random garage it’s now missing a fender flare and someone drained the gas tank which was over half full. So they’ve just cost my friend even more money because the missing fender flare and stolen gas.

If I could give one ZERO stars I would. They towed our SXS 10 miles, on a flat bed, I have all the times digitally documented. They had less than 2 hours time in and billed is for 5 hours of towing, 5 hours for a helper (who never got out of the truck, just sat in the passenger seat. The invoice says the total labor is $2890 yet no where do the numbers equal that. Then gave us some mysterious 'discount' leaving a balance due of $1595 for 10 miles! I can prove what time they got there, when they left, etc. This company is as crooked as the roads here in WV!

I was not happy with the service I received. Initial issue was fixed which took 14 days. When I got it back it was leaking oil and check engine light came back on. Each time I took it back for the check engine light they put another part on it that I did not authorize. I found out when I went to pick it up about additional parts and cost. The oil leak didn’t get fixed. I went somewhere else for a second opinion and they gave me information and advised me to go back since a part they put on was faulty. When I took it back to Chambers they put a different part on it saying that was what was wrong (without authorization). Told me it was now fixed. No! It was still leaking oil and check engine light was on. Needless to say, I will not go back and will advise family and friends not to go there. I don’t want to see anyone else taken advantage of.

They've worked in my car, and truck several times over the last few years, and I've always found them to be very professional, and the problem with my vehicles has always been corrected... JOhn V.

Called ahead to see about getting an inspection sticker and was told to come in and as soon as I got there the complaining began. First off he said that the shop didn't make money off inspections and asked if I'd read the sign posted, it was the listed prices of inspection and asked for tips. He was so incredibly rude that I will take my business elsewhere in the further. I can not express the disrespect that he had towards a paying customer. As a local resident, I'll drive somewhere else further away to avoid such a Trump loving, nasty, absolutely hateful, negative person and business.

Took my jeep in because it was making a knocking sound. Chambers told me it was an engine rod and that I was a quart low on oil. Took it to another garage and actually watched them check the oil- it wasn't low and that sound is my ac compressor. I do not recommend Chambers for this reason. Huge difference between a $5000 engine rod fix and a $600 ac compressor!!!

We lost our alternator belt due to a tensioner gone bad on I-79 in West Virginia. We called the State Police and they in turn called this company. The owner was out there within 20 minutes, examined the car briefly and put it up on the tow truck. He said that he could get it done by Tuesday morning(This was Memorial Day). Honestly, I was skeptical because of the holiday, but the next morning by 9:30 it was ready for the 8 hour drive home. The towing fee and repair were very much in line with what I expected and even a bit less. Thanks Chambers for the help.

Went there because of car issues, got told I had 1 bad motor mount. Sat there for hours because they sent my car part back, when it did come in, it was the wrong one. So had to wait again for the right one. Paid 240 for labor and part, went to leave and my car was worse then when I brought it in.They told me I now needed another motor mount, said it’d be only 100 for labor and part this time. Called to make my appointment, got told it would now be around $180-200 now. Took my car to another shop just to have a second opinion. My motor mounts are fine. What was wrong with my car is something was unplugged in the front of my car, you could see it as soon as you popped my hood. Plugged it back in, now my car is acting just fine. I do not recommend.

Joke... my van got towed because it wasn't legal yet, was trying to get the money together to get it legal, but got towed... Chambers towed it to their lot, it sounds terrible and the woman who runs the office told me she pulled my inspection stick because it was hers that she filled out... Funny thing it was the sticker that came on my van when I bought it at the end of July... Sticker was good until 7/22 now I have no sticker... That's okay though I have contacted the WVSP and they detective is on them now... She had no jurisdiction of pulling any sticker, she runs the office not the inspection station... Chambers are crooks, every single person on the Elk River knows it !!!

Being a woman. I don't trust many auto repair shops. But Chambers auto was great! They fixed the problem and was done in a timely manner. I'm back on the rd again.

I had given up on my 26 year old jeep . Potholes had done irreparable damage . It was in such bad shape , I hated driving it. But I can’t afford to replace it. They did diagnostics and replaced the part that was causing all of the problems. Did alignment. Provided me a document that showed the results of the suspension diagnostics and it runs and rides better than ever. Even better than when I first bought the vehicle.

I had an intermittent starter problem, I drove up to their shop unannounced, and they pulled my truck in right away even though they had other vehicles in there. They pulled the bad stater and had a new one installed within an hour. Their prices were very reasonable, I would highly recommend this garage. Thanks!

These people sold me a car saying nothing was wrong with it, however I took it home and it was messed up. So I brought it back to them and they kept it for a weekend and after saying that they knew what was wrong with it they said that nothing ever happened while they had it. Do I took it home filled the tank and the next day I was driving to work and it was STILL messed up, so we took it back and they fixed it but they made us pay for it (knowing that it was messed up when we bought it) AND made us pay for the gas that THEY used that we had filled up before it was brought to them. They are terrible people and I definitely will never go back and I don’t recommend them for anyone.

I had my first and last experience at Chambers. I took my car in on a Thursday, told them everything I needed done and they stated they’d call me when it was finished. I got a call at 5pm Thursday, saying it was finished. I went to pick it up, spent $621, and as I was leaving, my stabilitrak light was still on. I told them the issue and they told me just to bring it back in the next day. When I took the car back, they found the problem and told me I would have to pay for labor AGAIN. In their words, I did not tell them that issue needed fixed, (knowing I did, twice actually. Once on the phone before dropping off the car, and again in person) the female owner basically called me a liar and said “there is nothing they can do.” Rather than own up to their mistake, or even apologizing for maybe not hearing me, she made it out like I did not know what I was talking about and that I was a liar. Very unprofessional way to run a business. Save your money and yourself a headache and go somewhere else.

Too bad you can't give zero stars. I used to love Chambers. Would always take my car there when something needed worked on. Well after my latest experience, I will never go there again. My Jeep was making this awful noise on the rear end. Found out it was the rear ring and pinion. Was told this was going to have to be replaced. I was also dealing with my warranty because I still had a warranty on the jeep. They replaced the part and when I got my jeep back it was still making that awful sound, didn't even get out of the drive way before I turned around and went right back. They told me to drive it for at least a week and if the sound wasn't gone to bring it back. At this point I've only had to pay 100 for the deductible because my warranty picked up the other 600$ for the bill. Keep in mind, the parts only cost around 100$, the rest was labor and misc charges. So after a week I took my jeep back up there, still making the same awful sound. They tore it back apart and said my whole rear end needed to be replaced... and it was going to cost around 1000$! So they had the warranty people come and inspect it again, and they said the part wasn't adjusted right and needed to be adjusted. So Chambers adjusted it, put it back together, and I went to pick it up a few days later. Low and behold, its still making the sound! Once again I don't even get out of the drive way and take it back to them. Grudgingly they keep the jeep and take it apart again. The only thing Chambers kept trying to tell us was that we had to have a new rear end, and since the warranty wouldn't replace it, we would have to pay for it. I ask the warranty to inspect it again since the mechanic is insisting that we need a new rear end. So they have the inspector of my warranty come back out and they told me the same thing, there is nothing wrong with it, they just aren't adjusting it right. At this point I'm fed up and decide to take my jeep elsewhere. So Chambers puts it back together. So I go to pick my jeep back up and what do you know, no sound! But all the lights on my dashboard are lit up! Then I found out that Since they took my jeep apart twice after they were supposed to fix it the first time, my warranty wouldn't pay for labor. So they were trying to stick me with a $400 bill for their mistake! I told them that I shouldn't have to pay since they weren't adjusting it right. So he told me just to pay 100$ and we'd call it even. Then Lynn, his wife tells me to come back in and they will replace the sensor in my jeep because that's why the lights are on... now keep in mind, when I dropped it off both times, the lights were never on. And no, I never went back to have the sensor replaced. After all the run around and then seeing all the grease all over my leather seats and interior, I was afraid they would devalue my jeep even more. Never again will I go there.

my wife's car was vandalized on christmas eve. when she returned to the place where her car was at it was gone. after making several calls she found out it was towed (obviously without any notice, or agreement from us) to this garage. the sun roof and small back glass were broken out, and chamber's auto said they could fix it, and had a great glass person. they originally told us that the cost would be $250. then it couldn't be done for another week. then it would be at least $500. then another week. we finally got the car back yesterday with a steep cost of almost $800 (that included a $200 tow bill!!). driving home she realized it wasn't sounding right, so we took it to our local garage that we trust and found out that they had ripped the muffler off when towing it, which cost us an additional $70 to have welded back on. then today i was cleaning it out (still a ton of glass, as well as muddy paw prints from the owner's dog all over) and noticed how badly they had scraped up the bumper, and pulled golf ball sized asphalt from between the bumper and radiator. i had to call and let them know how unhappy with the situation was. she acted like she had no idea who would have had an animal in there, but seemed to understand when i told her who it was. we saw him get out of the car with the dog when we pulled in. he claimed he was checking the windows to make sure there were no leaks. but she claimed she would "let him know" still waiting to hear back from them. if i could rate lower i would've.

Disappointing fixed fuel pump for 500 dollars then charged for gas that wasnt in the car. On top of that they unhooked the window switch after they rolled my window down and tried to tell me that it needed a new window motor. Which i would have had to pay for

We were on vacation from Missouri, we broke down at exit 9 in Elkview W.V. around 5pm on Aug.30, 14. We had no idea as to what we needed to do. The Auto Zone near us called them and when he came to pick us up he took us to the airport to rent a car, then to the Chevy dealer in Charleston to drop off our truck. The engine blew up. He was very courteous and helpful. He even helped us transfer our luggage and stuff from the bed of the truck to the rental car. Very nice and helpful man. I hope I never have to use him again, but he was so helpful and patient. If you are in the area, I recommend him and Chambers Auto Repair and Towing. Thanks again for making a bad situation a lot easier.
