Would love to rate 0 stars if I could! They attempted to charge me $547 for $100 in parts, $271 for "2 parts" that comes in a full kit for $100 on the Dorman website.
We were in a bad situation. A mechanic was going to fix my wife’s car then while he was working price doubled and then he said he couldn’t finish. He recommended Charleston auto. They came within two hours to get the car had it out the next day for half the price. I had even told them would be happy long as we could get it done for the first mechanics raised rate. Outstanding work by honest people!
On May 7, 2025 while traveling from Michigan to our home in North Carolina, we had a major transmission failure. By chance it happened where we were recovered and towed by Charleston Auto Service Center of Charleston West Virginia. From our tow driver Bobby, to the entire staff at this location including the owner, Chris Reed, our car and my wife and I, were treated as a priority! They went as far as to finding us a rental car to make our way home when all attempts by us failed. We can’t thank them enough for the treatment they showed my wife and myself. If you are ever in need of an establishment to have your vehicle serviced or repaired, I highly recommend Charleston Auto Service Center, in my opinion, they are the Best!!
If I could give 0 stars I would. On 4/15/25, I had my vehicle towed to a service center. Luckily, I had taken pictures of the vehicle right before it was towed, so I can prove there is not a crack in the windshield before being towed. When I picked it up from the service center on 4/18/25, there is a huge crack in the center of the windshield. I talk to the service center representatives, who take pictures of the vehicles when they enter the lot. It is determined there is already a crack in the windshield at this point of being delivered. At this time, I call Charleston Auto, we have a discussion on the phone, and eventually I drive the car to their business to have a face-to-face conversation and have the vehicle with the cracked windshield for proof. After approximately an hour of going back and forth with the guy at reception, he says he will have his manager contact me on Monday, 4/21/25 to discuss this issue further, because I can prove this incident happened during towing. It is 4/22/25 and no one has reached out to me yet. This windshield is going to cost me $592 to replace. When speaking to them, I just simply said "I wanted to resolve this issue and have someone meet me in the middle." I am now going to have to take further action.
I can't thank Charleston Auto enough for their outstanding towing service! We were stuck on a busy interstate, feeling overwhelmed, but their quick response and professional approach immediately made us feel safe and cared for. They handled everything efficiently, even in such a hectic situation. Truly top-notch service! Highly recommend them to anyone in need of reliable towing.
They did a good job, and the employees are courteous, and professional, but they didn't perform all of the work I asked them to do. But, it is very convenient to combine auto service with towing.
I had one of the trickiest scenario. My tractor turned over up a hill. Steven, Tyrone and Dakota worked with their special equipment to right the tractor and get it off the hill. I am grateful to be alive with no broken bones and grateful they were able to get the tractor down.
I wrecked early one morning on my way to work, thankful that I had Josh and Steven as my wreckers to pick me up! They were quick to get the car loaded and were very kind throughout the whole experience. Much better than any other company I've worked with.

I live on 5th Ave. just off of 26th street in North Charleston. I walked to North Charleston Mountain Mission store to see Brian an insurance agent that sets up first at the Westside store and then at the North Charleston store On the first 2 days of the month. While at the store, 2 alerts came in on the phone of a tornado warning. I left the store. I didn't get far before the wind and rain I had to go to the ground to keep from getting blown away A man named Taylor saw me through the window from Charleston Auto and came and assisted me to the building for protection. Later another man named Bob took me home later. He brought me my weapon My Cane.

On December 11th, I had my 2021 Silverado towed to Joe Holland after changing the brake pads myself. Got 5 error codes and the computer wouldn’t recognize any rear brakes at all because of not putting it in brake service mode. I was quoted $2752.00 for needing all new brakes and calipers and the whole “kit” for each one. I paid $130 for just the diagnostic fee to pick it up. I drove a few short miles to Charleston Auto with a quote from them at $831 for similar services. They had me hooked for $831 no matter what. They took the back wheels off, took the setup apart and checked everything out. After realizing the issue was the brake pads didn’t have the sensor in them, they changed the pads and it fixed the entire problem. I would have loved to pay them $831, instead they did what was NEEDED and it cost me $150!!!! Almost 2 days at Joe Holland and less than 2 hours at charleston auto. Thank you guys for getting me back on the road. It was an absolute Christmas miracle to say the least.
I was stranded at Charleston Airport in the long term parking lot with a dead battery. Matt came very quickly after I submitted a service call through my roadside assistance provider. He worked very quickly and got me on the road. Very pleased and would certainly use them again.
I was on my way home to Huntington from Beckley and got a flat tire. I pulled off in a very small area in Charleston right at the corner of the interstate and 58A intersection. I was at the corner of the intersection passed the bridge where 58A divided. I was terrified because I was so close to
to the "slow lane" but could not get off any farther and couldn't get off on the exit because I would have blocked the entire exit due to concrete barriers.
Your driver, Joey, I so hope that was his name, called me and told me he was on the way. He came to me and explained everything he was doing and reassured me that I was going to be ok. He then got dispatch to call a police officer to get in the "slow lane" so he could safely change my tire. He fixed my tire so incredibly fast and also instructed me not to drive too fast because of my spare tire capabilities.
He was so amazingly sweet, proficient, and knowledgeable that I wanted to tell him that I loved him. haha Both he and the police officer made sure that I got back on the interstate safely and on my way home to Huntington.
I cannot even describe how wonderful he was to me. I will always be grateful for you guys and thank you beyond belief for your amazing services. I will ALWAYS tell my friends to contact you when they need services
We had a vehicle abandoned on our property. We had contacted the owner and given him ample time (several weeks) to remove vehicle. We were going to have our parking lot graded and graveled so we called to have it towed. They showed up within the hour. They took time and care to ensure vehicle wasn’t damaged.
My husband, me, and our 5 kids were on our way to flordia from Michigan. As soon as we entered west Virginia. 2am in morning 1 of our tires losted all but 1 lug nut. Oddly enough one day prior we got a tire rotation for $20. It was a very scary situation and I called multiple towing companies because we had 7 people (2 adults 5 kids) we needed more then 1 tow truck. Charleston auto Inc. Was a life saver!! They came right away to tow us and even though it was 3 in the morning they let me and my 5 kids hang out in their lobby till they opened at 8am. They had our car fixed by 9am. Highly recommend them. 5 stars!

We got stuck out of town from Ohio. The young man who towed our vehicle was amazing; however, we were never informed that our vehicle was done. We just happened to stop on our way up north to get some things out of the car before heading home. Needless to say, your receptionist is not good at her job and should be informed of what it cost us because of her negligence.
Im Super annoyed! I paid them over $300 for a starter and my car broke down on the road outside the Charleston Auto parking lit. I had to pay them another $100 to get it towed!
Chris is amazing! He has come to my aide now several times, most recently bc my neighbors flattened three tires on two vehicles, but that's a whole other story... Chris was so kind to give me a ride back home. Although I was prepared to risk the ride up Sissonville Rd with my steady Giant he said it was no problem and I gladly accepted. Awesome ending to a terrible day. Thanks again!!!
Driver broke my semi truck fairings while towing it backwards, I showed him and he said he’ll speak to Erick and see if they’ll replace it
That was like a year ago and until today my semi truck fairings were not replaced and this Erick guy is now ignoring my calls
To make matters worse they charged me $3000 to tow my semi truck only with no trailers for 400 miles, of which I think was ridiculous
I don’t know if they are doing this because, I’m an owner operator or because of the color of my skin

I sold a car last year and apparently people never put it in there name car got towed they did contact me as. I was registered owner but not until a month later where the Bill was so high it wasn't worth getting out but the plus side they where very friendly and understand the situation seems to be a nice environment and they did contact me Even if it was after a little while and the storage Bill was over 200
Amazing service! First off, when called them the man I spoke with was super nice! He helped me work out payment and when the driver showed up, he was right on time and very nice too. He tried to help me get the car started before he towed the car. very good experience!
They've been super nice and have presented the possibility (haven't retrieved car yet) of doing their best to work with me and not charging me an insane amount that I more than likely would never be able to pay. Also the driver I got took it upon himself to check into what could be wrong with the car, and how to solve the issue so I would know if i should or shouldn't attempt to get my hunk of junk back or not.
I was traveling from Pennsylvania to Tennessee and my Mustang thermostat stuck closed! Rob (Our Driver) did a wonderful job! My car is lowered, Rob took the time to make sure it wasn’t dragging the front fascia, used correct straps as opposed to J Hooks!
Added note: I called several wrecker companies before I found this company and no one would even answer the phone at 7:30 am!

I was travelling through WV, broke down just outside of Charleston and this was the provider through my insurance. They were quick and polite even with having to make two trips to bring my car and the passengers. Would definitely recommend them!
They had 3 mechanics get on my car right away, and they seemed to know what they were doing. They found out what was wrong with my car within 20 minutes whereas 21 Truck n Auto couldn't figure it out in 4 trips! They were honest and told me one part had to be replaced by an authorized dealership and would have to be diagnosed by them. They explained several things wrong with my car but only one thing they could fix, and that would be after I went to the dealership first. So I know they weren't just trying to make money off me. Good guys!
Half way home on a 500 mile trip with a camper in tow and 2 small children, we pulled into Charleston to fill up on gas. After filling up and attempting to start our truck, the starter died. This happened on a Saturday evening around 6 PM, so most places we tried calling were closed. Charleston Auto was the only place that I called (of about 2 dozen) that was both open and willing to do a roadside repair. The best any other business would do for us was to tow our truck/camper to a garage and get started on repair Monday morning (2 days later). They had a technician meet us within 15 minutes of calling. He diagnosed, located a replacement part, and made the repair in 1 hour. He was friendly and kept me informed of his progress while he worked. The rate was $75 + $95/hour labor + parts, which seemed reasonable to me, considering their response time and ability to get us going again and also how desperate we were to get our family home. The expense could have added up if the repair needed was more serious, but in situations like these I'm willing to pay for results and peace of mind. I feel incredibly fortunate that we got in touch with them and didn't settle on being stuck in Charleston WV for 2+ days. I would recommend them to anyone!
Great Fast Service! We had a tire blow out on us on 64. There were there 30 minutes after we had contacted Nationwide for our Roadside Assistance. The gentleman driving the truck was very courteous and lovely to talk to as he towed us to Wal-Mart to get our tire replaced.
