We've been going to McKinney's for years. They do great work, have reasonable and fair prices, and are trustworthy.

These folks are the best! From repairs to inspections and everything in-between! Been a happy customer for many years. They never disappoint!

Great People! my engine locked up on me coming from frederick in the middle of a back road i called mckinneys he was very friendly and got me a tow as soon as possible !! took them about 3 months to replace my engine price wasn’t bad at all i definitely recommend these guys thanks Tito!!! -Sanford

I had them tow my car after it broke down twice. They brought it in, said it was fixed. However the same day the car broke down presenting the same issue. The second time they towed, they once again said it was fixed and the car broke down not even 10 miles down the road. They charged a ridiculous amount and did not take any responsibility for their failure to repair my car. I am never using them again after that experience. I do not recommend them whatsoever.

I have used this business a couple of times and I have never been disappointed! One of my friends recommended them to me and I see why now. The two gentlemen that work the front desk as soon as you walk in are very cordial. I never have to wait long. Prices are very fair. And, overall, I have not had one bad experience. I highly recommend McKinney's.

I was in and out quickly because I had an appointment for an inspection, but that is the only positive thing I can say. I've used this place a few times over the years for inspections and have never had an issue until now. Charged me $40 just to change two wiper blades! That's crazy. I won't be back here again.

Paula was amazing. She was very friendly, professional, and quick to help. The towing times and pricing were the best I've ever seen. I would definitely use them again for all my auto needs!

I do not recommend this place at all! My vehicle broke down, I had it towed by them, they replaced the radiator and charged me an outrageous amount. I got the vehicle back, it broke down again 3 days later with the same problem that caused it to break down the first time. They wouldn't accept responsibility and charged me more money to fix something that they should've fixed to start with. I've learned my lesson with this company. They will never get my business again.

Got stuck in the snow during a weekend away in the woods for a birthday party. Truck came out right away, driver was extremely helpful and kind. Charged a great rate for a tow considering the conditions. Definitely a great service during a hard time.

I have trusted my vehicles all 15 years that I have lived here. From state inspection to towing i have had it done and they always schedule me in and i usually am shocked that they aren't charging more. Same people working there year after year so they must have a great owner/manager!

You know the old saying, if I could give it 0 I would. McKinneys towed and ‘repaired’ my vehicle about a month ago. I asked them to ensure the car was road ready since it had been parked until I had the ability to get it fixed. They were to replace lugs (which came off while I was driving - an obvious red flag to a bigger issue), inspect the entire car and let me know what needed to be fixed, and call me for approval. I had every intention of approving whatever needed to be done. They called me with what I thought was a low, reasonable bill - and I was excited to get her back! They did all they said they did to the car, including a state inspection. BUT. Within less than 50 miles I noticed there was still something very wrong. I parked it and decided it was best to take it elsewhere and get a second opinion. Bent axel from obvious tow truck carelessness (not blaming McKinney) BUT the Bent axel has been the issue causing the lugs to come off the car - McKinney replaced the lugs and put an inspection on a car WITH A BENT REAR AXEL AND hugely COMPROMISED safety. I am extremely unhappy with the fact that this shop had a car come into their lot unsafe and sent it off their lot unsafe. Will never go back and will be seeking additional damages I have incurred.

I could not believe how I was treated today. In the hot blazing sun, waited for the tow truck driver, he had me standing on the side of the road the whole time he loaded up my car, instead of offering to be safe in the air conditioned cab. Then half way to our destination he lights up a cigarette!!! I was floored completely!!!! Worst customer service ever.

Reliable, Honest, and Courteous. Are they perfect? No. However, I don't know of any business that is perfect, whether small or large. Their prices are fair and they always try to serve you the best they can. They are an example of a small business that is the backbone of our economy. I have used McKinneys dozens of times over the years. I have never experienced a problem, only expert service. I highly recommend McKinneys for Auto Repair and Towing. Easy five star rating.

I would not even rate Mckinney Auto with one star. Worst experience today, May 28, 2019. I was waiting hours for the car I was driving to be towed which was only a few blocks from their shop. Apparently they were given the wrong number to contact me and instead of trying to resolve the situation they put my tow request after tow requests that had been placed hours after my tow request. Management and personnel were rude and unaccomadating and unsympathetic to the fact that I was already waiting hours for their call. One personnel member was standing in the doorway behind the cashier and starring and laughing at me as I tried to resolve the situation. I find this type of treatment disrespectful to me as their customer. The managers were also rude and inflexible. Horrible treatment by their company to me as a customer.

This place is great! I was calling scrabbling to find a place that can get me in so I could get my car fixed before I left town to see a sick family member. When I called, the woman on the phone was very friendly and upbeat. Her happy demeanor made the first impression well received. When I got there, they had a professional look and feel. The man I felt with was also very upbeat and eager to help me. Most places seem like they are just dragging their feet through the days work, but here they were all in a good mood and did great work in a very timely manner ahead of the projected due date. It was a good experience and will return

The towing service is a rip off. We were involved in an accident 5:30pm on the 340 bypass by the Bardane exit 6 miles from this towing company's office and needed a tow. The officer called to the scene suggested using a tow service, seeing that the radiator was busted on our car, we agreed. With in 5 minutes of the call McKinneys was on the scene and had loaded the car and departed approximately 15 minutes later. They towed our car 6.1 miles and the tow bill was $336.00. Total bill : $336.00 - 6 mile Tow Charge. $20.16 - mileage. $16.80 - Admin fee. $100 - 4 day storage fee. $472.96 Total Having only liability insurance on the car, we ask why the bill was so high, Mckinneys replied with a rude nasty tone, that they charge by the hour. We will be filing a complaint with the transportation commission and the better business bureau.

Very honest staff and reliable. I was parked at Panera Bread on Oak Lee Dr in Ranson and Triple A requested Mckinney’s to take me to Walmart. McKinney’s very politely explained the Walmart does not change tires and informed me I would have to find another tire repair place. The information they gave me prompted me to make proper adjustments. I waited only 20 min for a pickup. The driver was courteous and considerate of my situation. He got me to Drive Pros before they closed. I was able to continue my trip thanks to the help and support of McKinney’s.

I don't normally write reviews but wanted to share this: I took my car to McKinney's to have the left front tie rod evaluated from failing a state inspection at Drive Pros the day before. I requested a second opinion to have the tie rod checked and if bad get an estimate on the repair. They got my car in immediately and minutes later told me the tie rod was fine (tight, very little play) for a car of its age and it would not fail inspection. The second opinion saved me $300.00 so I wont hesitate to go back there again for inspections or repairs.

Great service, very friendly, didnt have any problems they accepted a written car insurance, that state farm gladly faxed to them. Wait 20mins and i was on my way to work happy.

Great and helpful staff. Helped in time of need after I flipped car. They gathered my belongings and placed back in car. Fast, prompt service. Not your average grimy tow company, these people care!

I would NEVER recommend this place. My son was in an accident over the weekend. We went by this morning to get his things out of his vehicle. We were told we needed to give a claim number and phone number for the financially responsible party before they would allow access to the vehicle. After obtaining all the requested info, my son was still not allowed to get anything out of his vehicle. Although McKinneys had proof of insurance, a claim number, and the adjusters info, that was not enough. Because the other person's insurance had the claim "pending" because it was so new, they weren't satisfied that they were going to get their money and would not release my son's property unless we paid the $259 owed. $259 to go less than 5 miles. I understand the need to make sure you are getting paid, I respect that, but this is ridiculous.

It is hard to find an automotive repair shop that you trust. Let's be honest, we've all had bad experiences with dishonest mechanics. I have never gotten the feeling that I was being sold something that I didn't need or a repair that wasn't necessary. Butch and Tami take the time to get to know their customers and value a long term relationship. We are a small town here and word travels fast. I have often been referred to Mckinneys and have no reservations referring others as well.

Car battery died after arriving home... With no way to get a jump I contacted AAA who (lucky for me) contacted McKinney's to help me out. Randy showed up quickly and was extremely friendly and personable and had my vehicle going in 3 seconds flat! I couldn't be more happy with the service I received. It's great to know there's a nice, reliable, local company I can rely on. I will definitely trust McKinney's for anything I may run into in the future!

I needed a tow 155 miles home on Easter day. They arrived quickly and had room for me & my two daughters to ride along so my husband didn't have to come pick us up. Thanks so much Kenny!

My company is from Baltimore and we had a crew working on a job in Charles Town. The truck broke down and required a possible tow to their shop for repair. The driver arrived promptly and was able to fix the electrical problem. No tow needed. All employees were polite, courteous and resonable fees.
