Campground by the river with full site hook ups. Very reasonably priced, but you need to call to make a rez.

We love this campground and will definitely be coming back. We made a short video of our visit on youtube Jonesingfortheroad

Perfect for our overnight while visiting Romney, staff was fantastic! Views & river are lovely and quiet. Roads inside the park are gravel, hopefully they’ll consider paving them at some point. Note-if arriving from the south, stay on major roads, Trough Road is very winding & very narrow, unsafe for rv’s.

It's a very good place to get away from a busy life and, everybody is like family and big hugs. Float trips and ride around on golf cart visiting everyone is so much fun.

Campground is in a beautiful location, property is well maintained, the staff is friendly and facilities are well taken care of.....except the bathhouse. It's gross, only 3 working toilets for the 100's of campers, no fans other then a box fan in the corner and no a/c, it was so hot in there you could bearly breath not to mention the smell.

Growing up in the 90s to early 2000s I loved going to Wapacoma campgrounds to camp. We used tents and we had a blast each time we went. An then I went from 2005-2014 without going there and then I got a job working for DirecTV and had came here to install satellites for DTV costumers to be able to bring their boxes an hook them up to have tv. Then my family camped here over the weekend and everything still seems pretty great my only complaint is that there should be a time frame to allow the use of golf carts and have a time at like 9 or 10pm where you cant ride them cause it was a lot of traffic and was keeping tent campers up. And my only other complaint is that there are so many RVs jam-packed into the surrounding areas of the tent spots. I get the grounds need to make as much money as possible but that's a little much. An my last and smallest complaint is that visitors shouldn't have to pay anything. Why should they have to pay when they aren't staying? Other than that being there brought back a lot of great memories from my childhood. An I would recommend this to others.

Stayed here many times over the years and have always enjoyed it. Very good fishing and a peaceful place to camp.

Wapocoma Campground is family oriented. It's in the country. You can go for walks, hikes, swim in the river. Bring your 4 legged furbabies with you, as they're most welcome. Make sure you bring cash or check to pay your site fee, as they don't accept credit cards. Also, bring some DVDs as we could only pickup 2 channels and not very well. No wifi and some people with us had trouble receiving phone calls. So if you're looking for peace and quiet and want some downtime for wifi, it's the place for you. One thing I'll say about getting to the campground is part of Rt. 50 has some 7 to 9% grades with twists and turns. So make sure you have good brakes and it's only a 2 lane road in parts.

6/2016 I have been off and on coming here for over 15 years, give or take, prices are affordable, and we always had a beautiful view with a tent set up by a riverside site.. to hear the loons at night over the river, the wind blowing thru the leaves, a crackle of a bonfire with of course marshmallows to toast great memories to be made here and if you really like it quiet..as I do surpass the crowds and go on a day that isn't a holiday but everytime I've come it's always orderly... as well thanks to the friendly staff of Camp Wapocoma' I truly wish you great seasons to come and hope to return soon!!!

We visited on a Monday/Tuesday in the first week of May and enjoyed a peaceful couple of days near the river. Our full hookup grassy site was mostly level and stayed firm during a light rain. The grass was neatly mowed and for the most part the dirt roads throughout the CG were in good condition. Most of the sites are narrow without much space between. We had plenty of elbow room since there were no campers on either side of our site 21. Early in the season and midweek the CG was quiet, but it’s evident that camping would be crowded on summer weekends. The bathrooms were locked when we checked; there is no laundry available; water pressure was moderate. Cell service with Verizon and T-Mobile was 2 bars from time to time, but spotty. The CG offers wifi that worked well for us, but the pleasant woman who checked us in warned that during crowded times service is weak.

Huge park, with excellent views and access to the river. Very friendly staff. Well maintained surroundings. Very quiet during the week, during the weekends, it really gets quite crowded. Just a suggestion, a little more care (cleanliness) to the showers, for the next time, because I would definitely return.

Great hidden gem in northern WV. Massive property that is privately owned (a huge plus). It was great meeting new people, the sites were massive. The property is well maintained. And you can't beat the view and or water access to the river!

Spent a long weekend here at lot (#30). This spot was perfect. It had a large tree for shade. If you want sun, you will have a part sun/shade spot! It's close to the river, boat dock, and wash house. The campground was clean, and everyone was super friendly! The roads to and from were adequately wide enough for our camper. There is a town close by to get supplies and go to some boutiques. The views accross the river are gorgeous. Will definitely book another trip!! Already planning for our May vacation!!!

Went there to check it out before vacationing at this campground. Looked like 80% of the sights were seasonal renters. Some of the campers there looked like they had been there for many years with shanty add-one’s and junk everywhere. Unlike other campgrounds I have seen where they have seasonal renters are in one section and weekender sites are in another, this place seems to prefer the mixed approach. Road conditions were fair but speed bumps every 50 yards or so was a real pain. Overall I was very disappointed in the quality of the campground and their lack of standards for seasonal renters. Made a very poor first impression.

Beautiful and expansive campground right on the river. We camped in tents and had a wonderful time. Bath house is very nice. TONS of RV hookups from the looks of it. Busier than most campgrounds I've been to but would definitely go again.

This is a great campground. Friendly staff. Affordable rates. Sites are level mostly with grass sites. Many of the sites are very large. There is a good mix of seasonal, yearly, and in-and-outers. It is right on the river for swimming, kayaking, and fishing. There is a playground for the kids and bring the bikes for them to ride around the campground. It is a nice family campground. It's close to the town of Augusta for supplies or extra groceries. Electric golf carts are allowed. Strict quiet hours from 11pm-8am. Due to COVID restrictions tent camping isn't allowed due to bath house being closed. On a normal summer, this place has lots of events and activities for everyone including a Bluegrass Festival at the end of June.

Very clean and nice camp ground. It has all the necessities of home available. It is a bit over crowded and the campers with golf carts will run you over. You have to get to the river before everyone wakes up or you will be fighting for a spot to fish, swim, or relax.

Love going here with my mother-in-law and my kids. It's not true camping though since she has a camper. You can bring tents though. The only downside is that across the river you swim in is a farm and the cows like to drink and bathe and sh*t in the water. You've got a 50% chance of seeing floaters while swimming.

We had a great time! Close to home. The “Beach” on the river was fantastic. Everyone was friendly, we asked for a late checkout and we got the whole day! It was fantastic. I Wish our site was a little bigger but that’s the only thing I would change.

Camped here over Memorial Day weekend. A group of 4 families had 4 full hook up sites next to one another. The sites are a little small compared to other campgrounds, but we made do. Our sites were also in full sun. There are other sites with shade closer to river. Bathrooms were kept very clean all weekend. Kids enjoyed the playground. Kids spent most of the time at the river. They were at the river from morning until night. Sites were $31 per night. Very reasonable. My only gripe about the place was the golf carts and drivers drinking and driving them. Especially on the busy holiday weekend. Alchohol needs to be restricted to the campsites. If it is already someone needs to enforce it.

Great place to camp and recreate on the South Branch of the Potomac river. Many of the tent camping sites are situated right on the river there are plenary with shade as well. They have a small store on site for those camping necessities and ice oh they carry some fishing supplies too. Nice friendly people to with what ever needs may arise while you're there office hours usually 10 am to 4 pm. There is a very large beach and swimming area also a boat launch. So whether a day, weekend or a week camping of fun sun bathing, fishing, floating or just relaxing try Wapacoma campground. Have been coming here since 1986 never not enjoyed my stay here. Nice clean bathrooms!!

We wanted to find a campground near Burlington W.Va. for a night. We were camping for the first time in our little camper. I called and talked to one of the ladies at the desk. I explained what I wanted and she said that they had a great spot. I also asked if there was a place we could park and leave our camper for a few hours after checkout time. I was willing to pay. As we were going to Burlington W.Va. for their apple festival. She said it would be no problem to just leave it on the campsite and pick it up when we were ready. I offered to pay extra and she said absolutely not. We didn't have a lot of time to check out the whole campground as it was later than we expected when we got there. they are right on the river and have a beach area. The restrooms and showers are very clean. The people there are so nice. I will go back if I ever have the chance.

This campground is great. My brothers and I were canoeing down the south fork and found this campground. It looks like they have lots of RV hookups, but have tent camping as well. We asked a worker who was cutting grass about a tent camp site and we were promptly taken by golf cart to the office. For $21 we were able to procure a site which was level, had a picnic table and a fire ring. $5 bought enough hardwood for a 2 hour campfire. We had broken a canoe paddle that day and asked about a place to buy one. The owner (Alan) said that the only place might be Walmart, but that was a bit out of our way. He offered to lend us one of his paddles, which we accepted. The bathhouse facilities were excellent and clean. This is a really great place operated by a first class staff. Well worth the visit.

We have been camping here for 8 years and have seen this place improve nearly every year. The camp has 50 Amp service and full hookups, they easily accomadate our 41 ft fifth wheel. The owners really care about the campground and no trouble goes on here. Its has a really nice family atmosphere. The South Branch of the Potomac river borders it and the fishing and kayaking is great!

I have been coming from Delaware to Camp Wapocoma since I was a kid. I'm 36 now. I have so many fantastic childhood memories. I also have been coming as an adult to fish the very scenic river with my family. I would recommend this place to anybody. It is very family friendly & has breathtaking scenery. I would give it 10 stars if possible. Love it Love it Love it!!!
