Never answers the phone. Closed more often than open. People shouldn't need to take a 20 min trip in everyday to find out they are closed for residential trash. We should be able to call to see if capacity is met. This has been going on for years.
Update. Still closed days later. Closed every day. Been going before noon. Is anyone home? Is there a staff shortage? Am I having the worse luck with the dump filling to capacity in the first couple hours of the day? I know Mondays are slow. mid week is slow , non free days are slow.. what is going on here? Why can't we call anyone or see on the website that youre at capacity? Why is there a sign saying you'll be open the next day and then it's closed with the same sign?
Here's the real info for residential customers, since there was nothing online or even posted at the site. The people were super friendly and I would give more stars if they would provide basic instructions.
This is a weight based landfill. You enter in your car and nobody will give you instructions. Do not pull up onto the scales where the window is until its your turn to drive up. Once you pull up, they will weigh your vehicle and ask for your payment method. Then you will pull up to a couple of dumpsters. They lose another star for me because there is a terrible unnecessary rail that you must lift everything up and over to throw your stuff away unless you are unloading from a truck bed that is high enough and can get close enough to the rail. Not sure how quickly the dumpsters fill and they empty them but there are only 2 of them.
Once finished, you get back in line for the exit scales. They will weigh your vehicle empty and then you pay. My van full cost me $15.
There was another reviewer that said you needed a hard hat and safety vest, and there are some signs. However, they did not require that for me and I didnt see any other customers with those items either.
Was closed 2 hours before the posted closing time of 4 pm because "daily residential limit was reached" drove all the way from Bunker Hill only to find that the gate was still open, but the scales were closed due to the daily limit being reached. If the dumpsters are full, you should still be able to drive to the back of the dump.
Twice we’ve gone early in the morning and they had reached their tonnage by 10am. Both times we called prior to going because we are coming from an hour away and NO ONE ANSWERS. Poorly run, zero customer service, will not be back and do not recommend.
The phone number attached is useless and you can only speak to a machine. Lost my business solely because I couldn’t speak to a Customer Service Rep/Agent. I called 3 times and was stuck on the phone with a robot each time then call just abruptly ends and I was asked to visit a website for more information. I wouldn’t be calling to speak to someone if my question was answered on the website…
Went at 9:15 on Saturday. Gate was closed, waited in line only to be told by someone else waiting that they are only open on the first and 3rd Saturday of the month now. Would have been nice of them to update their website before I made the trip and then waited at the gate.
At my last visit, it was fairly quick to get in and out with a small item to put in the dumpster on a Saturday morning. It is closed on some Saturdays in the winter months, so it's always best to call ahead.
The lady at the window is rude, unfriendly, and overall absolutely horrible! I only use out of necessity. I do not expect "service" however, being kind doesn't require a lot of effort.
We had one bag to many and it was sitting on the lid and the threw it on the ground. I have not made a habit of doing this ever. I called to complain and was told if it's not in the can, it don't go.
Echoing several other reviews. Unfriendly and unhelpful. Needs a direct phone number so you can figure out if the 4000 requirements have been met in order for you to drop off trash. Which are not well laid out anywhere except for in Google reviews
Employee are rude.and they want cut u a break I was twenty pounds over.and they charge me 13.00 dollar on free dump day...today on 7.20.22 I was there and noticed 8 people dumping without safety vest and hat .but yet I was charged $20.00 for safety vest and hat.but no one was enforce the vest and hat.whats good for one should be the same for very one.
So heads up for anyone thinking to bring items to dump here: You need a hard hat and a neon work vest. They have them, but they are 20 bucks, so best to bring your own. Pricing starts at 12.50$ and goes up from there. Get there by 330pm and you should be fine. Good luck
They lie about their dump time, you have to be on that scale by 2:50 for them to let you in even though the sign says 3:00pm A business that you cant trust their word for and just lazy
Traveled from Berkeley Springs at 2:30 pm, website says they close at 4pm, was turned away because they reached their “limit” for the day, now we have to waste more time and gas to try again tomorrow, staff were not very nice, bad business!
The guy in the yard was very helpful help me unload a few ton of shingles . What was crazy though was you gotta have your own hard hat and vest or you gotta buy one to dump there
I have been using the landfill for 18 years. Cost wise it's reasonable. Lately, you have had two persons in the weigh station which speeds up service on Saturdays. I suggest you give more options on your phone recordings for current hours of operations, a separate recording when you are close to your daily limit that can be activate to allow customers reasonable notice that you have to close. This would also save your scale attendant time answering the phone. I suggest another recording on recyclable items that you do and don't take. I would include a brief suggestion on where to take items you don't take as many items get dumped along the road from frustrated persons who do not have a place to take the items you don't allow at the landfill. All in all you provide a good service at a reasonable price. Thank you!

The people there keep the line moving. there was only 2 people in front of me. And they have a free dump day to 3rd Wednesday of the month. We are very thankful for that .
Don’t go if you’re one a schedule... one person at window running inbound and outbound... leave yourself plenty of time to sit in line for 30 mins or more... and I went on a Tuesday.
This place has the slowest weigh station, be prepared to wait. However, it is the only place to go so they don't seem to care about the quality of service.
Another wasted trip to the dump. I would think the 1st Saturday after Christmas, you would be open. at 8:30am I find you closed. here's a thought, like most business's, why don't you post a sign on your gate with your hours of operation. You could post your summer and winter hours then people would know. Your recording does not give any hours of operation, at least it didn't when I called Saturday morning. Now I understand why Allensville Rd. Looks like a 2nd dump with trash bag's thrown to the side of the road. Time to get your act together and start serving the people in your community alittle better, after all we do pay for this service.
I never have to wait very long, and the place where you dump trash is close to the main gate. But it's kind of expensive, and if you don't go early enough, they reach their daily limit and will turn you away (especially on weekdays; it's better to go on a Saturday).
This place is a dump! Literally! Be sure to call before driving out to dump anything. If the facility has met the weight limit for the day or month, they won't take additional trash and will send you home. On the 3rd Wednesday of every month you can dump up to 500lbs free. Beware that if you exceed 500lbs they'll charge you the min dump fee.
