DISHONEST. Unfortunately I can't recommend this place. Shown attached was an estimate for repairs I brought in to them for a squeaky front end, I doubt all of their suggested repairs though except the upper ball joint, as another place I eventually took truck to said that was the only issue, and I told that place to fix everything they find giving free reign but they just did what was needed, the one ball joint. Problems are gone now. Back to estimate, I had all rotors and pads replaced NEW about 20 months ago, and even replaced front pads again 9 months ago due to being squeaky even though previously new. They don't make noise anymore btw. I believe the mechanics write down what's needed, so the service writer is taking their word? Even if so, they are proven to be dishonest and going for easy money with the go-to brake job at a minimum, I'm guessing the other items were not needed either. They may do good work, but they rip you off ?? Edit 2026. The owner keeps editing his review for some reason so now I will edit one more time, trying to let it go, but can't. He says I can't be pleased? Pretty sure my review is honest and no way a working person would accept the blatant rip off with my PROOF. He admitted this by stating the tech no longer works there. I get techs are digging for work, but the service writer should check all this, else it falls in their shoulders. I still won't mention where I go now, it's out of scope for this review, but to the owner, just man up, accept my honest review, and your own reply and move on. You are right, some people you can't I just PLEASE.

Our truck broke down during our trip, and we were towing a trailer. Jack and his team had us on the road within 24 hours. They also shuttled us to a hotel. Great people and service.

I can without any hesitation recommend these guys! They take customers seriously and go the extra mile to help travelers in need. Top notch folks! Very fair and pleasant to deal with.

I misjudged the distance between my garage and my side mirror! I went to Charlie's since it's right behind my development. I was greeted with a smile and the question, "What did you hit, the side of your garage"? They helped me immediately and about 40 minutes later, mostly waiting for epoxy to dry, I was able to continue my day! Extremely reasonable price!! Friendly and professional service! I highly recommend Charlie's for any automotive service!!

I had a great experience. Another repair shop gave me a list of items to get fixed. The mechanics at Charlie's are fair and honest. They did the repairs that were necessary for my safety. I'm grateful for the service.

Awful up charge fees. A $260 battery charged $370. For replacement fees it cost $130 for a diagnostic on the battery and $116 in labor fees. Man I was a fool for that rip off, plus I’m a 17 year old working part time fast food while going to high school to get an education. don’t go here.

Drove past this place daily and it always seemed busy. Stopped in today and had a vehicle inspection done. Had great conversation and interaction with the owner and enjoyed a lengthy conversation with another customer. Inspection passed and had no issues. This place will get my auto repair business from now on. It reminded me of the “old” days when honesty, integrity, competent mechanics and relationships build an enduring business and legacy. Great place to spend some time and get good quality work done!

Update…So Jack responded and is still lying to cover what he did. You have to understand I told you when I started to hear the noise just to give you a timeline. You’re supposed to be the expert and let me know where the noise is coming from. If you can’t work on Lexus, just say that. You claimed it was the wheel bearing but as of today I’m still having the same noise!!!!! When did you tell me I needed two???? That’s a lie. I also have dashboard lights that wasn’t there prior. This shop is a joke! If you have any type of luxury car, don’t bring it here. Any normal person would be pissed if you messed up their car like you did mine. You are used to disrespecting people. If you disrespect me and yell and get in my face, I will do the same!! I’m not scared of no man! This so called shop has been dealing in these dirty practices for a long time. You finally came across the right one. Don’t forget to tell the truth too! How you wouldn’t give me my keys after I paid. Ask your granddaughter, I’m sure in court she’ll be my witness instead of yours. I stand on my original review. Stay tone… This is the worst auto shop. If you value your car, time and money, don’t bring your car here. This crooked shop had my car since Tuesday 7:30am and I just picked it up today (Friday) After spending over $800 plus dollars, my car still has the same noise that I complained about and now I have dashboard lights that I didn’t have prior to bringing my car. A lot of false promises and attitude from Jack. First he tells me the noise is coming from a wheel bearing, then he says my axle is messed up and needs replacing and then it’s the speed sensor that needs replaced. Whenever I call because he doesn’t call me, it’s a different story or part that I need and more money. This morning on the phone he tells me if I don’t like what he’s saying, come pick up my car. Which I did! He was fussing at me and I was fussing at him. I’m he’s not used to people standing up to him. If you disrespect me, I will disrespect you and your business. After paying he would not give me my keys and he call the police. Police came and they got my keys back. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!! The only sane person there was his granddaughter. She was actually trying to diffuse the situation but you have this old man acting like a child. I will be taking my car to a Toyota or Lexus shop and see what they say because a lawsuit is coming!

Good service, and great prices. I will be taking my vehicles here again. They also do wheel alignments. Call ahead, you may need to schedule an appointment.

Recently moved to Hedgesville, have taken my and my fiancé’s car here three times, twice for oil changes and once my car was making a loud whirring noise. Charlie diagnosed it, and when the part he needed wasn’t in stock, drove himself to a dealer to get the part after work hours. Car has been silent and running smoother than ever since he worked on it! Thank you Charlie, and I highly recommend him!

I've been going to these people on and off for many years going on I think 5+ yrs they are the most honest hard working people I know and always try to work with you even with prices. I always feel safe leaving my vehicle with them and feel safe that the work is always 100% done never had issues

I recently moved to Hedgesville from Virginia and was looking for a new place to take my truck for maintenance. I brought it in for an inspection and to get my wind shield wiper hose fixed. These guys did a great job. It’s working as well as the day I bought it. Very friendly, fair and honest. I’ll be back for future maintenance.

Picked up a nail in my tire and this was the closest shop for a quick stop. Everyone there was very helpful and informative. Got me in and out and was back working asap. Highly recommend these great people.

I took my truck for in for an inspection. They squeezed me in last minute. The man at the front was very pleasant and professional. The waiting area was clean and cool. I could hear him on the phone trying to track down some parts. Again, he was pleasant and professional. I'll definitely be back if I need some repairs on my vehicles that I don't feel like messing with.

After over a week of them having my car and not getting a single thing done, Jack kept telling me he would call me back in "30 minutes" regarding what parts I needed to order vs. what he was going to order, but then I wouldn't hear from him again. After 8 days of being pushed to the side, I decided to post to a FB group looking for other recommendations of mechanics in the area because I need my car fixed ASAP and he wasn't getting back to me. I didn't mention his shop name at all, I just needed to come up with a backup plan since this seemed to be going nowhere. Well Jack saw the FB post and called telling me to come pickup my car and he was refusing to work on it. Not once did I mention his shop but after this experience I decided to actually speak about how I was treated as a potential customer here. He called me, scolded me for “bad mouthing him” even though I not once mentioned his business, told me to come get my car, and then hung up on me without giving me the chance to say a word. I was honestly in tears after the phone call.

No Bull. Clear explanations. Super Fair. Superior customer service. This Auto-Shop is a Gem. I was super impressed with the professional courtesy, care, and geniune concern for my problem. Great team. What a blessing.

My vehicle broke down on 1-81, with a tow being extremely too far to get it home, it was suggested to be fixed here. I got a room for the weekend at a local hotel, and Charlie's worked on it early the next week and had it working perfectly. My cv axle and control arm needed replaced and now my 1999 car should be good to go for another 20 years. Still working extremely smooth almost two months later. These folks will treat you like family and have your vehicle fixed at a fair price. Thank God for Charlie's.

More than excellent service, from owner to lady at from desk! Driving back from Florida to Canada with in-laws, or water pump broke down in there town. Nothing more boring than having a major car brakedown on a long road journey. Charlie's Auto Repair was able to get us running in no time!!! Lady at front desk even took her own car to drive us to restaurant nearby as the fix our car. Thanks customer service!!! Would recommend this repair center to any one hands down!

Everyone at Charlies was FANTASTIC!! I was doing a long drive on Route 81 when my car broke down over Christmas break. They spent so much time and effort over the holiday season trying to get my car back to me as soon as they could. They also kept me in the loop the whole time and explained everything in a way that I could understand what was going on. The prices were VERY reasonable (always a plus). From the front desk to back shop, everyone at Charlie's was amazing and I would 100% recommend using them if you're ever in the area.

Amazing crew here. Always bring my vehicles to Charlie's. They are honest and beyond fair. Vehicles are completed when they say they will be, never charged for things that I shouldn't be. Honesty, integrity, and courteous service is all I have ever had here. Highly recommend this shop for all your needs.

Jack and his team are the most capable and honest general mechanics in the eastern panhandle that we had the pleasure to call upon for service. They have accomplished complex repairs such entire rear axle replacement in record time at extremely fair prices. For our family they have really come through multiple times, and we appreciate them.

My day started off walking out to my car with a flat tire. I called Charlie’s right when they opened, they said they would take me, and they had me out of the garage within 20 minutes! They were quick, efficient, and beyond super kind! I truly appreciate the amazing customer service! I definitely recommend! :)

This place is wonderful! I was driving home and my tire pressure light came on.The gas station that I usually go to to put air in my tires, their tire pressure machine is broken. I called up Charlie's and the man was kind enough to not only see me right when they were getting ready to close but he also put air in all of my tires. Nicest garage in West Virginia.

I got a flat while driving down interstate 81 on my way home to NC. Called these guys up and they took me right in. Not only did they replace my flat tire but they also gave me a spare as well. As a bonus, they checked the air in all the other tires to make sure i would make it home to my family. I can't thank these people enough. Very polite great people all around!

I pulled up to their lot twenty to thirty minutes from their closing time probably looking stressed and disoriented. I was an hour and a half away from home. My car’s front splash shield (I hope that’s what it’s called) had mostly fallen off and was dragging on the ground. At higher speeds, it was making a pretty bad sound. At Charlie’s, they were immediately able to help me and send me on my way, and for that, I could not recommend them enough! The people working there were nice, too.

I blew a tire on the interstate on my way to Tennessee coming from Philly. It was about 11am on New Year's Eve when I called a gentleman named Jack and told him I was on my way in. Jack and his crew were about to close up but he stayed open to get me new tires and back on the road. Jack personally drove to the wholesaler to pick up tires for me. They changed the tires in about 45 minutes and I was on my way less than two hours from pulling into the shop. I can not speak highly enough of the hospitality and willingness of Jack and the guys that work here. In my state of desperation, I could've been raked over the coals for every dollar I had, but I was treated fairly and given an honest price for new tires.

Charlie's is a great shop. You know that when you bring your vehicle in your getting quality work. Staff is polite and about as fast as you can hope for a auto shop to be . Wasn't hard to find right off 81 exit 16w .First used them when my sisters car was having vacuum issues and need her car to travel back to Fairmont for school. I called them on a Saturday and they booked me on Monday. Monday evening they had fixed the issue but also did a full check on the vehicle found that the tie rods on one side were in bad shape . They notified me and fixed them as well all this said I'll never go anywhere else for my vehicle needs .
